Die passenden Schritte hängen davon ab, welcher Fall vorliegt.
1. Standardorte in der Seitenleiste wieder einblenden
Einträge wie „Downloads“ oder „Dokumente“ werden über die Seitenleisteneinstellungen des Finders ein- und ausgeblendet. Diese Option steuert Standardorte, nicht eigens hinzugefügte Favoriten.

- Öffne den Finder.
- Wähle in der Menüleiste Ablage > Einstellungen und dann den Bereich Seitenleiste.
- Aktiviere die Kontrollkästchen neben den gewünschten Standardorten.
Die Schritte entsprechen Apples Anleitung zum Einblenden fehlender Einträge: Wenn die Seitenleiste eines Finder-Fensters ausgeblendet ist oder Elemente fehlen.
2. Prüfen, ob ein Seitenleistenbereich eingeklappt ist
Wenn ein Abschnitt wie „Favoriten“ oder „Orte“ leer wirkt, muss sein Inhalt nicht gelöscht sein. Bewege den Zeiger auf den Namen des Bereichs und klicke auf den Pfeil, der daneben erscheint. Damit blendest du die Einträge des Abschnitts ein oder aus.

3. Falschen Favoriten entfernen und den gewünschten Ordner hinzufügen
Ein App-Symbol unter „Favoriten“ kann bedeuten, dass die App selbst als Favorit abgelegt wurde. Die Kontrollkästchen unter „Seitenleiste“ verwalten solche benutzerdefinierten Einträge nicht.
- Entferne den unerwünschten Eintrag aus der Seitenleiste.
- Suche im Finder den Ordner, der dort angezeigt werden soll.
- Halte die Befehlstaste (⌘) gedrückt und ziehe den Ordner in den Abschnitt „Favoriten“.
Apple beschreibt diese Methode auch für Dateien und Apps. Sie fügt das gewünschte Element als eigenen Favoriten hinzu; sie ändert nicht die Standardorte in den Seitenleisteneinstellungen.

4. Bei einem Synchronisierungsordner kann das App-Symbol beabsichtigt sein
Ein Symbol, das wie ein App-Symbol aussieht, ist nicht automatisch ein Hinweis auf einen defekten Ordner. Apples archivierter Leitfaden zu Finder-Sync-Erweiterungen erklärt, dass eine solche Erweiterung für einen überwachten Stammordner ein eigenes Seitenleistensymbol anstelle des Standardsymbols bereitstellen kann. Das kann bei einem Ordner eines Cloud- oder Synchronisierungsdienstes relevant sein.
Die Erklärung stammt aus Apples archiviertem App Extension Programming Guide: Finder Sync, zuletzt aktualisiert am 19. Oktober 2017. Sie belegt die vorgesehene Funktion, aber nicht, dass jedes App-artige Symbol dadurch verursacht wird oder dass jede aktuelle Synchronisierungs-App gleich arbeitet. Prüfe bei einem konkreten Dienst dessen aktuelle Dokumentation.

5. Wenn das Symbol nach diesen Prüfungen weiterhin falsch wirkt
Die genannten Apple-Anleitungen belegen keine allgemeingültige Reparatur für falsch dargestellte Ordnersymbole. Deshalb lässt sich daraus weder ein universeller Symbol-Cache-Reset noch ein bestimmter Terminal- oder Löschschritt als offizielle Lösung ableiten.
- Notiere deine macOS-Version und welche Seitenleisteneinträge betroffen sind.
- Prüfe, ob ein Synchronisierungsdienst installiert ist und ob das Symbol zu dessen Ordner gehört.
- Wenn sich der Eintrag nicht mit den beschriebenen Finder-Schritten korrigieren lässt, wende dich mit diesen Angaben an den Anbieter der Synchronisierungs-App oder an den Apple Support.
