If you want a literal 43-inch 4K set, LG’s 2026 QNED75B (model 43QNED75BUA) and Hisense’s R6 (43R6E3) are examples to compare. If premium OLED and gaming features matter more than an exact 43-inch diagonal, LG’s C6 is a nearby 42-inch option—not a 43-inch TV.
Is a 43-inch TV worth it?
A 43-inch set can suit a bedroom, smaller living room, desk area, or a space where a larger screen would dominate. It can also be a practical choice for streaming and everyday viewing. The trade-off is that compact models may not match larger siblings for brightness or sound, so the best fit depends on room lighting and whether you care most about movies, gaming, or background viewing.

Check the actual diagonal rather than relying on a category label. The LG C6 is described as a 42-inch model in the current roundup, while LG’s QNED75B model 43QNED75BUA and Hisense’s R6 model 43R6E3 are listed as 43-inch TVs. A one-inch difference may not matter in use, but it can matter if you have a strict size limit or are comparing products by category.

There is no single distance that suits every viewer. Seating distance depends on the room, your preference, and whether you want a more immersive view or a less prominent screen. TCL offers distance guidance on its product page, but that is manufacturer advice rather than a universal standard. Use it as a starting point, then check the fit from your normal seat before choosing a model.

What specifications matter most?
Resolution and HDR formats
For a 43-inch 4K smart TV, check that the exact model is 4K and which HDR formats it supports. Format names are not a guarantee of picture quality by themselves; panel performance and the content you watch also matter. The LG C6 roundup lists HDR10, Dolby Vision, and HLG, while LG advertises HDR10 Pro for the QNED75B and Hisense advertises Dolby Vision HDR and HDR10 for the R6.

Refresh rate, gaming, and HDMI
For console or PC gaming, verify the refresh rate and HDMI capabilities of the exact SKU, not just a family name or “game” setting. The roundup lists the 42-inch LG C6 at 144Hz, up to 165Hz, with four HDMI 2.1 inputs. LG’s QNED75B page mentions game settings, but the detailed gaming specifications should be checked in the manual; the product page details cited here do not establish high-refresh or HDMI 2.1 support for model 43QNED75BUA.

The examples use different TV platforms: webOS on LG models and Roku TV on the Hisense R6. TCL’s 43-inch range also includes Google TV models with Chromecast, according to its global category page. Before choosing, confirm the platform on the exact regional model, the streaming apps you need, and the physical connections available for your devices.

Will the TV sound good enough?
Small-TV audio can be a compromise, especially if you want cinematic impact or clear, room-filling sound. The roundup notes that the 42-inch C6 version has 20W speakers and cautions that it differs from the tested 65-inch version. Do not assume larger-model audio findings carry over to the smaller set. If sound is important, check the exact model’s audio specifications and outputs, and consider whether a soundbar will fit your room and connect the way you need.

What should you verify before buying?
- Exact size and model: Confirm the diagonal and full model number on the listing, product page, and manual.
- Local version: Product names and features can vary by country. Check the regional SKU rather than assuming a global category page represents local stock.
- Gaming details: Verify refresh rate and HDMI specifications for that model if you plan to connect a console or PC.
- Apps and inputs: Confirm that the platform supports your essential services and that the TV has the ports your equipment requires.
- Price and availability: Retail prices, promotions, and inventory change; compare current listings rather than relying on an old advertised price.
How do you make the final choice?
- Measure the space. Check the available width and viewing position, and decide whether 42 inches is acceptable or you need a literal 43-inch screen.
- Choose the main use. Prioritize gaming specifications for a console setup, platform and app support for streaming, or audio connections if sound matters.
- Compare exact models. Review resolution, HDR formats, refresh rate, HDMI inputs, software, and audio on the regional product page or manual.
- Confirm the live offer. Check the current local listing for the correct SKU, price, and availability before ordering.
