Outdated Drivers Are Slowing You Down

Open My Files and tap Downloads to find most files saved to your Samsung Galaxy. If the file is not there, search My Files by name, check other storage locations, or open the app that downloaded it—some offline media stays inside that app.
Where are downloaded files on a Samsung Galaxy?
- Open My Files from your Home screen or Apps screen. If you do not see it, search your apps for “My Files.”
- Tap Downloads to browse downloaded files. Samsung identifies this as the usual place to find downloads: Where to find downloaded files.
How to find a specific download
In My Files, tap Search and enter the file name, or part of it if you do not remember the full name. Tap the matching result to open it. Samsung’s downloaded-files guidance describes searching by name and opening a result.

What to check if the download is missing
Look at recent files and notifications
For a file downloaded moments ago, check the phone’s notification panel. If the download completed and its notification is still available, tap it to open the file. You can also check Recent in My Files to see recently accessed or added items.

Check other folders and storage locations
Not every download appears in the Downloads folder. In My Files, check relevant categories and folders; some apps save files in their own directories. If your Galaxy model supports an SD card and one is installed, check that storage location as well. Samsung’s file-location instructions cover alternate categories and storage locations.

Open the app that downloaded offline media
If you are looking for an offline movie, song, or similar in-app download, open the service or app you used to save it. Protected offline content may be stored for use only within that app, rather than appearing as a normal file in My Files.
If a browser download did not complete
- Check that the phone has an internet connection and enough available storage.
- Confirm that the website allows the file to be downloaded.
- After starting a new download, watch for its completion notification; tapping it may open the file directly.
- Download only from sites you trust.
These checks help distinguish a file that was saved somewhere unexpected from a download that never finished. Samsung’s download guidance recommends checking connection, storage, and whether the site permits downloading.
