The Fiido Nomads Pro is a mid-drive touring e-bike. Its motor sits at the crank and sends power through the chain, which is the main thing that separates it from the standard Nomads. In T3’s hands-on review, reviewer Matt Kollat found its assistance smooth and its climbing torque strong for the price, but he found it restrictive for anyone who wants to ride quickly. The ride observations below come from that review, published 16 September 2026. The specifications come from Fiido’s product listing. Neither is an independent laboratory test.
What makes the Pro different from the standard Nomads
Fiido sells the Nomads in more than one configuration, and the two are easy to confuse. The standard Nomads uses a rear hub motor. The Pro uses a 250 W mid-drive, which drives through the chain and the Shimano CUES drivetrain. That means the bike’s gears multiply the motor’s effort, so a lower gear can make a steep climb easier. When you compare the two, gearing and motor layout matter more than the wattage figure alone.

Motor, torque and climbing
Fiido claims 100 Nm of torque for the Pro’s motor, and T3 reports that figure without independent measurement. The torque sensor is a Mivice X700. It reads how hard you pedal, and the motor adds assistance in proportion. Kollat describes the result as smooth and natural, and says the bike has plenty of torque for climbs. That is one reviewer’s impression of a single bike, so treat it as a sign of how the system feels rather than a measured hill-climbing result.

The gearing is what makes the torque usable on climbs. With the motor working through the drivetrain, you can drop into a low gear and let the motor do more of the work at low speed, which a hub motor cannot offer in the same way.
Ride feel and pace
The Pro suits unhurried riding. Kollat says it makes sense on gentle dirt tracks and for riders who are not in a rush. He felt limited by the speed cut-off when he rode quickly, and his review line is blunt: “Just don’t go too fast.”
Assistance speed limits are part of how the bike is configured and are shaped by local e-bike rules. This review does not cover changing them, and riders should stay within the limits that apply where they ride.
Range: what was observed and why it varies
Fiido says range depends on several conditions. The product page lists these factors:
- Assistance mode
- Terrain and surface
- Wind and temperature
- Number of stops in traffic
- Rider weight and carried load
- Tire pressure
In T3’s review, Kollat rode 25.4 miles and had 42% of the battery left. Extrapolated, that suggests about 43.8 miles from a full charge. He judged 40 to 45 miles per charge to be a sensible expectation across mixed assistance, including Sport mode. This is a single reviewer’s ride-based estimate under his own conditions, not a standardized range test. Your figure will move with the factors above.
One setup detail caught Kollat out. The battery has to be switched on before the display will activate, so turn the battery on first if the display seems dead.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Weight, fit and equipment
The Pro is a substantial bike. T3 reports a weight of 26.2 kg and a maximum payload of 120 kg. The frame is 29-inch aluminum. That weight matters if you need to lift the bike onto a rack or carry it up stairs, and it matters more when the battery is flat and you are pedaling unassisted.

- Fit concern: Kollat found the seatpost too short for his own riding position. That is one rider’s experience and does not establish a general fit problem, but check the seat adjustment range against your own height and leg length before buying.

The expandable battery
Fiido advertises expandable battery arrangements for the Nomads range. The reviewer did not receive or test the extra-battery setup on the Pro, so nothing in this article shows what it adds in real use. Before you buy one, confirm on Fiido’s product page that it is compatible with the Pro and available in your region.
Who the Nomads Pro suits, and who should look elsewhere
A good fit:
- Touring riders who want assistance on climbs.
- Riders who prefer assistance that tracks their pedaling through a torque sensor.
- Riders who value a well-equipped bike with a fork, hydraulic brakes and a wide gear range.
- Riders on mixed terrain at a relaxed pace.
Look elsewhere if you:
- Ride fast or need assistance that keeps up with a quick pace.
- Need a light bike to carry, lift or transport regularly.
- Need a longer seat adjustment range than the review found.
The reviewer’s criticisms point to these trade-offs. Your own height, route and riding pace decide whether they matter to you.
