The site also says, “Leave the simulation behind. Master game-breaking abilities in a world where skill is the only script.” That is marketing language, but it accurately signals the intended contrast with simulation-led football games. FIFA also cautions that some content may not be available at launch, so the announced roster and features should not be treated as a guarantee that every character or mode is already present in every territory.
How a FIFA Heroes match works
Five-a-side matches and real-time play
FIFA Heroes uses a 5v5 format and real-time multiplayer. The smaller team size leaves more space for individual characters to influence a play, and the arcade presentation is intended to keep matches quick and eventful. Official store descriptions call it real-time multiplayer street football and mention unusual pitches, celebrations and character-driven action.
It is therefore better understood as a head-to-head action game with football rules as its framework than as a complete conventional match recreation. The available descriptions do not establish a specific match duration, camera option, control layout or ranked-system rules, so those details may vary by version and should be checked in the current app.

Every hero is presented as having distinctive skills or power moves. Customization and presentation
In addition to choosing a squad, the listings mention customization for the pitch, gear, avatar and emotes. Celebrations and emotes are presentation features rather than evidence of deeper simulation. They reinforce the game’s street-football and fantasy identity, where the player’s team and its visual style are part of the appeal.
Is FIFA Heroes a realistic football game?
No. FIFA Heroes is designed as arcade fantasy football. The five-a-side format, mixed fictional roster and character powers make it fundamentally different from a simulation that attempts to reproduce real-world team structures, player movement and competition rules.
That does not mean football knowledge is irrelevant. The strongest current evidence is for mobile. Google Play has a live FIFA Heroes listing and shows an update date of 8 September 2026. FIFA Heroes vs. EA SPORTS FC 26
