When can shareholders trade the funds?
Expected last exchange trading session
November 12, 2026 is expected to be the last full trading day for all five ETFs. FDFF, FMED, FDIF, and FMET are expected to trade on Nasdaq through market close, while FPRO is expected to trade on Cboe through that exchange’s market close. Shareholders who want to sell on an exchange should place and monitor orders before the relevant market closes on that date.

What changes after the close?
After the November 12 close, the funds are expected to stop trading on their exchanges and stop accepting creation orders. That means ordinary secondary-market buying and selling will no longer be available through the listing venue. An order entered after the deadline may be rejected, canceled, or remain unexecutable, depending on the broker’s systems and the corporate-action instructions.
What happens between the last trading day and liquidation?
Fidelity says it anticipates positioning each portfolio into cash, cash equivalents, or other liquid assets on or before the liquidation date. From the end of trading on November 12 until liquidation, shareholders should expect that they will be unable to dispose of shares on the applicable exchange and that there may be no trading market.

This interval is different from a normal trading day: a displayed quote or a broker’s security page does not necessarily mean that a functioning market remains. Investors should not assume they can exit at a chosen price during this period. The announcement does not state that an over-the-counter market will be available, nor does it describe any special redemption facility for individual shareholders.
How does the liquidation process affect your shares?
Before the final trading date
- Review which account holds the ETF and whether you have open orders, recurring purchases, securities lending, or margin exposure tied to the ticker.
- Decide whether to sell during the available exchange sessions, taking into account your own investment plan and the possibility of price movement before the deadline.
- Check your broker’s corporate-action messages for deadlines that could be earlier than the exchange’s final session, particularly for order handling or account restrictions.
After trading stops
If you still own shares after the exchange closes, the fund is expected to proceed toward liquidation rather than continue as a normally tradable ETF. Fidelity has not stated the final per-share liquidation amount in this announcement. The value can change before assets are converted to cash or cash equivalents, and the release does not establish what each shareholder will receive.

At or after the liquidation date
On or about November 19, 2026, Fidelity expects to liquidate the funds. The announcement does not specify the exact payment date, settlement mechanics, or how proceeds will appear in every type of brokerage account. Investors should rely on the fund’s formal liquidation notice and their broker’s account records for those details.
Why is Fidelity closing these ETFs?
Fidelity says it regularly reviews its lineup “to ensure we deliver a differentiated suite of strategies that drives demand and helps meet the evolving needs of customers.” The announcement gives no fund-specific explanation, such as assets, trading volume, performance, fees, or a change in investment strategy, for any of the five closures. Fidelity reported more than 80 ETFs and exchange-traded products and $189 billion in assets under management as of September 30, 2026, but that overall figure does not indicate the condition or expected proceeds of these individual funds.

What investors should verify now
- Confirm the ticker and exchange: four affected funds are Nasdaq-listed, while FPRO is Cboe-listed.
- Mark November 12, 2026 as the expected final full trading day, subject to a revised notice.
- Do not assume a market will exist after the close or that shares can be sold during the wind-down.
- Look for the official liquidation notice explaining payment timing and account treatment.
- Ask a qualified tax professional about your circumstances; the announcement does not provide tax consequences or individual tax advice.
Fidelity’s general risk warning applies during the process: “Keep in mind that investing involves risk. The value of your investment will fluctuate over time, and you may gain or lose money.”
