Use the unofficial aa-daily-reflections package to retrieve today’s Alcoholics Anonymous Daily Reflection or a reflection for a specified date. Its README documents a JavaScript/TypeScript API and a command-line interface, with English, Spanish, and French options. The examples below follow the project README; they have not been independently tested.
What the package does
The project describes aa-daily-reflections as a lightweight Node.js library that fetches Daily Reflections from an AA.org API. It is unofficial—not an AA-endorsed service—and offers two ways to use it: call its API from an application, or retrieve reflections from a terminal with its CLI.
The README documents English (en) as the default language, with Spanish (es) and French (fr) also available. A returned DailyReflection includes the title, date in MM-DD format, numeric day and month, month name, quote, reference, reflection text, and copyright field.
Install the package
Install it from npm in your Node.js project:

It says Node.js 18 and later provide built-in fetch; for Node.js 16, the package attempts to use node-fetch if available or show an error. These are project-documented compatibility claims, not independently verified here.

Fetch today’s reflection or a date in JavaScript
In CommonJS, create a DailyReflections instance and call getToday() for today’s entry. Pass a month and day to getReflection() for a specific date:

main();The month and day arguments are numeric; for June 25, the call is getReflection(6, 25). The result contains more than the quote: use fields such as reference, reflection, and copyright when your application needs them.

Choose Spanish or French
Set the language when constructing the client. For example, this requests today’s reflection in Spanish:

Use the TypeScript API
The README documents TypeScript imports and typed result data. A basic pattern is:

Retrieve a reflection from the command line
Choose the CLI for a direct terminal lookup or a script that needs command output rather than an imported API:

Handle invalid dates and request failures
Validate user-supplied dates before requesting a reflection, and handle errors around the request. The README demonstrates an invalid calendar date such as getReflection(2, 30) and distinguishes an invalid date for the month from a fetch failure. It does not establish a complete error taxonomy, so avoid relying on undocumented error classes or assuming every failure has the same cause.
