Reviews describe the performance as good or serviceable, but not top-tier for the price.

Which connection mode should you use?
The MIX’s main selling point is flexibility. Choose the connection based on the source device and whether convenience, latency, or battery-free listening matters most.

| Mode | Best suited to | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| Bluetooth | Everyday listening with a phone, tablet, or computer | Uses Bluetooth 5.3 and the listed SBC, AAC, LC3, or LHDC codecs; the available codec depends on the source device. |
| Included FWD Tx USB-C transmitter | Low-latency playback, lossless audio, or Auracast broadcast | Fender advertises transmitter modes for these uses. The company describes lossless playback as up to 96 kHz/24-bit and low latency as under 20 ms; these are manufacturer claims, not independent measurements. |
| USB-C cable | Wired digital connection to a compatible source | Useful when you want a cable connection rather than Bluetooth or the transmitter. |
| 3.5 mm cable | Analog sources or listening when the battery is depleted | Passive playback works without power. ANC and other digital processing features are inactive in this mode. |
Auracast is a broadcast feature, not a guarantee that any nearby headphone can join. The receiving device must support Auracast, so check compatibility before relying on it for a shared-listening setup.
How does MIX sound, and how well does its ANC perform?
Sound quality
Reviews agree that MIX can deliver a good listening experience, but neither positions it as a class leader at its price. Simon Cohen’s WIRED review, published March 8, 2026, rated it 7/10. He found the default Music EQ balanced while judging the overall sound short of the top tier. Jaron Schneider’s PetaPixel review, published June 19, 2026, heard prominent bass and criticized the sound balance. These are listening impressions, not controlled measurements, and individual preferences will differ.

Noise cancellation and calls
WIRED said MIX did not set a benchmark for ANC or calling. PetaPixel found the microphone adequate in ordinary use but weak at isolating a voice in loud environments. If quieting a noisy commute or making clear calls in busy places is your first priority, the reviews give little reason to choose MIX over a product selected specifically for those strengths.
Is MIX suitable for creators, video work, or gaming?
Its multiple connection options make MIX practical for people who switch between a phone, computer, wired gear, and a low-latency transmitter. PetaPixel considered it serviceable for field monitoring, on-the-go video editing, and entertainment. The transmitter’s advertised under-20-ms mode may appeal for latency-sensitive playback, but that figure is Fender’s claim rather than an independent test.
Rank #3
- Advanced build quality and engineering; Designed for studio tracking and mixing
- 40 mm drivers with rare earth magnets and copper clad aluminum wire voice coils
- Tuned for enhanced low frequency performance
- Circumaural design contours around the ears for excellent sound isolation in loud environments
- Convenient single side cable exit
That versatility does not make MIX a specialist reference headphone. The reviews raise reservations about tuning, ANC, and microphone performance, so creators who need dependable monitoring or clear voice capture should weigh those needs against the convenience of having several connection types in one headset.
What does the modular design mean for ownership?
The ear cushions can be removed to access components including the battery and transmitter, and reviewers highlight the design’s repairability. WIRED reported expected replacement prices of $29 per pair of ear cushions and $49 for a battery. Those were reported expectations in its March 8, 2026 review, not confirmation of current parts availability; WIRED did not have a battery availability date.
Rank #4
- Bass Sound: Enjoy clear sound and superior comfort with the OneOdio Studio Monitor Headphones. Equipped with large 50mm speaker drivers and neodymium magnets, pro-10 deliver powerful bass, clear vocals, and crisp highs for a balanced stereo sound.
- Built for Comfort: The soft, padded ear cushions are designed to provide long-lasting comfort and effective noise isolation. The adjustable, stretchable headband allows you to easily find the perfect fit and angle for your listening pleasure.
- Single-side Monitoring: The 90° swiveling ear cups allow for single-ear monitoring, making it ideal for DJing or mixing. The self-adjusting and flexible headband ensures a fatigue-free listening experience, even during extended sessions, making these headphones perfect for mastering and mixing.
- Compatibility: Pro-10 wired headphones work exclusively in wired mode and are compatible with a wide range of devices, including smartphones, laptops, tablets, desktop computers, audio interfaces, DJ mixers, amplifiers, and any device that features either a 3.5mm or 6.35mm audio jack.
- Share Audio Port: With a shared audio port, easily connect another pair to share music or videos—no splitters or special cables needed.
Repairability is a meaningful advantage if replaceable parts matter to you, but it is not the same as guaranteed long-term parts supply. Check for an actual replacement listing and availability before treating a quoted expected price as a purchase option.
Does MIX have a companion app?
Yes, an iPhone app was reported available on September 4, 2026. 9to5Mac says it supports MIX and offers EQ presets, a custom five-band equalizer, a battery indicator, and configurable home-screen widgets. WIRED’s March 2026 review said there was no app at launch; that was accurate at the time but is no longer current for iPhone. The cited app report does not establish Android availability. 9to5Mac’s report on the iPhone app has the feature details.
Best Value
- Swivel mechanism allows 90 degree turns to properly fit your ear angle
- Compact, fashionable design available in black or white to match your instrument
- Gold plated stereo plug and 2-meter cable for easy, convenient connection
- Comfortable listening for extended periods
How long does the battery last, and how quickly does it charge?
Fender lists up to 100 hours with ANC off and 52 hours with ANC on; its FAQ qualifies the 100-hour estimate as measured at 50% volume. Actual playback time can vary with use and settings. When the battery is empty, passive 3.5 mm playback remains an option, though ANC and DSP are unavailable in that mode.
Fender’s product page gives conflicting quick-charge figures: its overview says a 15-minute charge provides one hour of playback, while its detailed specifications say 15 minutes provides eight hours with ANC or 14 hours without ANC. The same page lists two hours for a full charge. Because the quick-charge claims conflict, verify them with Fender rather than relying on one figure.
Who should buy the Fender MIX?
- Consider it if you regularly move among Bluetooth, USB-C wireless, and wired sources, value a transmitter in the box, or care about replaceable components.
- Look elsewhere if your leading priorities are best-in-class sound, stronger ANC, or reliable voice isolation in loud surroundings.
- For creators and gamers, weigh the practical connection choices against the reviews’ performance reservations, and treat the transmitter’s latency specification as a manufacturer claim.
The most useful comparison is not a spec-sheet contest alone: consider sound tuning, ANC and calls, connection needs and latency, replacement-part access, and the current price. The cited reviews do not provide one controlled, apples-to-apples test of MIX against every alternative, and competitors’ prices change over time. Read PetaPixel’s review and WIRED’s review for their respective listening impressions and assessments.
