The October 16, 2026 announcement does not yet confirm a completed feature film, distributor, streaming service, release date, director, writer or game episode being adapted.
The option brings an anthology built around plausible, everyday danger to a new medium. Its creator, Mukul Negi—better known as Rayll—is developing the project with Stallone.

What was announced on October 16, 2026
Dread Central reported that SRYN Productions had optioned Fears to Fathom for film and television development. An option gives a production company the right to develop projects based on an existing property; it is not the same as announcing that cameras have started rolling or that a finished movie has been ordered.
That distinction matters here because the announcement does not identify a distributor, streamer, theatrical partner, release date, director, screenwriter or confirmed running time. “Feature adaptation” describes the direction readers are asking about, but the available announcement covers both film and television development rather than confirming a specific feature production.

Who is making the adaptation?
Scarlet Stallone is attached through SRYN Productions and is partnering with Mukul Negi, the independent creator who works under the name Rayll. The announcement identifies SRYN as Stallone’s production company but provides no additional corporate, financing or distribution details.
Stallone said:
“I’ve been playing video games since before I could read, and the first time I played Fears to Fathom, I was hooked. I’ve played every one since. Rayll’s games are grounded and genuinely unsettling, because the horror comes from situations that could actually happen to you. I love working with Rayll; we’re a great team, and I’m so excited to expand that world while keeping what fans love.”
Rayll described the project as an extension of a personal project that unexpectedly connected with players worldwide:

“I started Fears to Fathom as a very personal project, so seeing how far it has grown and how strongly people around the world have connected with these stories has been surreal. Scarlet immediately understood that what makes Fears to Fathom work isn’t just the scares — it’s the feeling that these situations could happen to anyone. I’m excited to work with her and SRYN Productions to bring that same tension and authenticity to a new medium.”
What Fears to Fathom is
Rayll Studios describes the series as “an episodic psychological horror game where each episode unveils a short story narrated by the ones who survived.” The official presentation is an anthology: each installment tells a largely standalone survival-horror situation rather than continuing one monster mythology or one permanent cast.
The fear comes from recognizable circumstances—being alone, traveling, staying somewhere unfamiliar or trusting the wrong person—that gradually become threatening. That grounded premise is the quality both adaptation partners say they want to preserve.

Why the games’ format matters for a screen version
Fears to Fathom is designed around survivor narration, short episodes and a first-person sense of vulnerability. A film can reproduce the restricted viewpoint, pauses and environmental detail, but it cannot rely on the player’s choices, hesitation or attention in exactly the same way. The adaptation therefore has several format decisions ahead of it.
- It could use an anthology structure, with separate stories and casts for different installments.
- It could directly adapt one existing episode or create an original story set in the same grounded world.
- It could become a single feature or an episodic television project, with pacing and cliffhangers shaped for that format.
- It could retain a strongly subjective, first-person presentation or use a more conventional cinematic viewpoint.
None of those choices has been announced. They are the key creative questions that future updates will need to answer.
Is Home Alone becoming the movie?
No episode has been selected publicly. Home Alone is the best-documented game in the available material: Rayll is credited as its author, and the Windows release uses a VHS-film aesthetic, text messages from non-player characters and player voice activity. Steam lists it as a free-to-play digital release by Rayll.

Those features explain why fans may associate the franchise with a particular screen style, but they do not establish that Home Alone will be the first adaptation. The option covers the franchise, and the announcement does not name an episode, plot or lead character.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Where will it stream, and when will it come out?
There is no confirmed viewing destination or release date. The announcement names no streaming platform, theatrical distributor or digital-rental partner, and no production schedule has been published. A platform listing, casting notice, director or writer announcement would be a meaningful sign that development had advanced beyond the option stage.
For now, the games remain the only released form of the property. The adaptation should not be treated as available to watch, scheduled for a particular year or guaranteed to arrive as a feature film until those details are formally announced.

What to watch for next
The most consequential next updates will be the project’s format and story choice. Readers should look for confirmation of whether SRYN is pursuing an anthology series, a single film, multiple films or an original story; which episode or characters, if any, are being used; and who is writing and directing.
Until then, the concrete news is narrower but significant: Stallone and Rayll have secured a development path for bringing Fears to Fathom’s plausible, survivor-focused horror to film and television, while the commercial home, creative team and release timetable remain open.
