Those features give supporters more ways to see football culture reflected in the game; they do not show that playing makes someone a more committed real-world fan.

EA announced a worldwide launch for September 25, 2026, on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2. Availability of individual features varies by platform.

EA says FC 27 includes more than 21,000 players across more than 800 clubs and national teams, 140 stadiums, more than 35 leagues, and support from over 300 global football partners. Those are publisher-reported figures, not an independent audit. Its announcement highlights the Premier League, with all 20 clubs, managers, stadiums, kits, and pundit commentary, and Liga BBVA MX, with all 18 clubs in a fully licensed experience. Named stadiums include AS Monaco’s Stade Louis II, Real Oviedo’s Estadio Carlos Tartiere, and the Legia Warsaw Municipal Stadium. What The Grounds adds—and where it is available
EA describes The Grounds as a social football playground for competing, connecting, and expressing yourself on and off the pitch. It is a distinct way to engage with other players, but it is not available on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One. Check the current platform and edition details before buying if this mode is important to you. FC 27 is not limited to social play. EA’s mode guide describes offline simulations alongside online competitive and cooperative options. That makes play style a useful way to judge fit: someone who wants solo matches can look to offline modes, while someone seeking shared play can consider online cooperative or club-oriented options. How fan interest and real results appear in Ultimate Team
EA says Gallery Tokens can be redeemed for rewards inspired by fandom and club identity. Its launch update also describes Destined for Glory player items as shaped by community votes; selected items can earn upgrades over the football season based on the players’ real-world domestic-league performances. This connects in-game rewards to supporter preferences and football events, but it does not mean every player item changes with real-world performance. EA’s Player Career guide describes a created Pro’s journey and Rivalries, where performance is compared with perceived adversaries chosen from fan opinion. It is another example of football culture being represented inside a mode; the rivalry mechanic remains a game system, not a measure of real-world supporter relationships. Does playing FC make you a bigger football fan?
The features show that FC 27 is designed to draw on football fandom: recognizable clubs and stadiums, supporter-inspired rewards, community voting, and in-game rivalries. They do not establish that playing the game causes people to attend more matches, identify more strongly with a club, or become more engaged supporters. The sources describing these features come from EA, so they explain the publisher’s design rather than independently measuring its effect on fans.
There is evidence of broad commercial reach for the previous installment, but it answers a different question. GfK Entertainment reported on January 26, 2026, that EA Sports FC 26 was Europe’s most successful video game of 2025 across all platforms and ranked first in 16 of the 17 countries in its official annual games charts. That result covers FC 26 sales-chart performance in Europe; it does not measure fan identity, match attendance, or FC 27 sales. GfK Entertainment’s announcement provides the dated chart result.

What to check before choosing FC 27
- Platform: Confirm the version you plan to play supports the features you want. The Grounds is unavailable on PS4 and Xbox One, according to EA’s edition FAQ.
- Play style: Decide whether you want offline simulation, online competition, cooperative play, or a social space, then check the mode guide for platform-specific details.
- Your club and leagues: Check EA’s roster announcement for the teams and competitions you follow. The publisher’s figures are a snapshot and may change.
- Edition terms: Compare the edition contents and current sale terms. Pre-order windows and bonuses described in launch materials may have expired, so do not assume they remain available.
These checks matter more than treating FC 27 as a proxy for real-world fandom: the game can reflect the football you follow, but whether that makes it worthwhile depends on the teams, modes, and platform you care about.
