What are Fauna Audio Glasses?
They are audio eyewear, not smart glasses with a camera or display. Fauna’s guide describes Bluetooth 5.0 audio for music, podcasts, calls, and interaction with a paired phone’s assistant. Review-era specifications published by Android Central include two USound MEMS micro-speakers and electrodynamic woofers, two beamforming microphones, a 100 mAh battery in the glasses, a 1300 mAh charging case, IP52 protection, and a weight of 50 g. These are reported specifications from 2021, not fresh measurements. The guide’s 2022 lineup names Memor Havana, Fabula Crystal Brown, Spiro Transparent Brown, Argentum Grey, Levia Prescription, Levia Black, and Rubia Milky; that historical list does not confirm any model is currently sold.
How do they sound, and who are they for?
The glasses use open-ear speakers, so audio does not seal off your ears. That can be useful while walking or working when awareness of nearby sounds matters, but ambient noise competes with what you are listening to. The Guardian reviewer found clear highs and mids with little bass, and described indoor listening at moderate volume as adequate. Wareable also reported limited bass and sound leakage, and found spoken audio more suitable than music. Those are subjective reviewer impressions, not controlled comparisons.

Calls, podcasts, assistant replies, and low-level background audio are the stronger use cases in the reviews. They are a poor substitute for noise-isolating headphones in loud places or for listeners who want strong bass and an immersive music presentation. Sound can leak, particularly at higher volume or when someone is close, so they are not a private listening solution.
Battery life and charging
Wareable and Android Central reported up to four hours of audio playback, a short runtime compared with many conventional headphones. Wareable also reported that recharging the glasses takes about two hours. Laptop Mag’s reviewer averaged around three and a half hours during heavy use and got four full charges from the case; that is one reviewer’s experience, not a guaranteed result.
Standby figures conflict: The Guardian reported up to 12 hours, while Android Central’s specification table listed up to 20 hours. The sources do not establish why they differ, so neither figure should be treated as a dependable expectation for a particular unit.

The Guardian reported Fauna’s estimates that the glasses battery would retain at least 80% of its original capacity after 500 full charge cycles and the case battery at least 60% after 500 cycles. These were company estimates reported in 2021, not independently verified longevity tests.
Can you use prescription lenses?
Yes, the user guide says the supplied lenses are not prescription correction lenses and permits a prescription-lens retrofit by an optician. It also says temple-length adjustment should be handled by an optician. Do not heat or bend the electronics-bearing temples at home; ask an optician to assess the frame and fit. The guide does not establish current availability of replacement frames or compatible lenses.
Pairing and controls
The temples have touch controls for playback, volume, calls, and invoking the paired phone’s assistant. According to the 2022 user guide, pairing begins with the glasses seated against the case contacts:

- Open Bluetooth settings on your phone and select the glasses to pair.
- After pairing, the quick guide says they reconnect to the last host.
Historical reviewers described occasional setup or reconnection friction. The Guardian and Android Central each reported needing force pairing after failed attempts; Wareable had trouble pairing the app after pairing the glasses on Android and had better results on iPhone. Those are individual experiences from 2021–2022, not proof of a universal fault or of how a current phone will behave.

The app’s current availability and compatibility are not established, so treat those features as historical rather than a reason to buy today.
Fit, weather resistance, and durability
Fit is personal. Android Central’s reviewer found the frames restrictive for a larger head and noted that professional adjustment was possible. Check the specific frame dimensions and have an optician assess adjustments rather than trying to bend the temples yourself.

Android Central listed IP52 protection; Wareable characterized it as suitable for some sweat and rain, not swimming or submersion. The Guardian described the glasses as rain resistant. IP52 should not be read as permission to wear them in a pool, the sea, or heavy water exposure.

In its October 2021 review, The Guardian reported that frames and lenses could be replaced, but the temples could not be repaired and the batteries could not be replaced. It also reported that Fauna offered no repair service at that time. This is dated reporting, not confirmation of the company’s present policy, but it is a material risk when considering a used or legacy pair: a failed temple or worn battery may not have a straightforward fix. Current warranty terms, repair options, and spare-part supply are not established.

Are Fauna Audio Glasses worth buying?
They may suit someone who prioritizes hearing the surroundings while taking calls or listening to spoken audio, can accept a few hours of playback, and can get a comfortable fit. They are less compelling if you want bass-forward music, isolation in noisy places, all-day runtime, or a clear path to battery and temple repair. For a used pair especially, make the condition of the electronics and charging case, the fit, and the availability of optician-supported lens work part of the decision; do not assume historical repair or app arrangements still apply.
When comparing them with Bose Frames, Amazon Echo Frames, or regular earbuds, focus on ambient awareness, spoken-word and call performance versus music quality, prescription support and fit, runtime and charging, repair options, and verified present-day price and support. The existence or current availability of those alternatives is not established here.
