The latest Fate/EXTRA Record character video spotlights Archer, one of the Servant candidates who can contract with the protagonist. The September 12, 2026 promotion introduces Archer as a ranged and thrown-weapon specialist voiced by Junichi Suwabe; it does not reveal a complete opponent roster.
What the new Archer video confirms
Aniplex’s September 12, 2026 release presents Archer as a warrior who specializes in indirect attacks and thrown weapons. The official description calls him a Servant candidate who can contract with the protagonist, a versatile fighter who controls many weapons, and a professional-minded character who follows orders faithfully despite his sarcastic personality.

Junichi Suwabe provides Archer’s Japanese voice. The video is therefore a character introduction rather than a list of every rival in the Moon Holy Grail War. It establishes Archer’s combat identity and personality, but the release identifies only the featured character.
Is Archer an opponent or a playable Servant?
Archer belongs to the group of Servant candidates connected to the protagonist. In the remake’s game setup, players can select one of three Servants: Saber, Archer or Caster. That makes Archer part of the selectable Servant lineup, while the story can still position Servants as rivals during the Moon Holy Grail War. The trailer alone does not establish every matchup, route or opponent encounter.

Archer’s combat profile
- Primary style: ranged and thrown-weapon attacks.
- Weapons: a broad selection of weapons rather than a single signature armament.
- Characterization: sarcastic in tone but disciplined and dependable when carrying out commands.
- Voice actor: Junichi Suwabe in the Japanese version.
Saber has also received a character video
A September 9, 2026 Aniplex release introduced Saber as another Servant candidate. Saber is described as a small-built swordsman with exceptional skill, a proud bearing and an appreciation for beautiful things. Taken together, the Saber and Archer videos show two contrasting combat identities: Saber focuses on swordsmanship, while Archer relies on distance, indirect attacks and thrown weapons.
These promotions confirm featured characters, not a complete list of the remake’s opponents. Caster is confirmed as one of the three selectable Servants in the game description, but the Archer and Saber releases do not provide a comparable character profile for Caster.

What kind of remake is Fate/EXTRA Record?
The project remakes the 2010 PSP role-playing game Fate/EXTRA. The remake expands the story, refreshes character graphics and replaces the original battle presentation with a strategic deck-building Command Card system. Marvelous describes the three Servant choices as having unique abilities, and the game is fully voiced in Japanese.
The Command Card approach makes Servant selection more than a cosmetic choice: Archer’s emphasis on distance and thrown weapons is part of the combat identity that distinguishes him from Saber’s sword-focused style. The available information does not provide final damage values, card lists or balance details for any Servant.

Publisher and development context
TYPE-MOON announced on August 31, 2026 that Aniplex became the sales publisher and that the development organization and future staff listings were changing. The current Archer promotion is attributed to Aniplex, while XSEED and Marvelous handle the announced Americas console publishing information. This transition means older listings may show different publisher or staff details than newer product pages.
Quick Recap
What to watch before buying
- Confirm that the listing is for the January 28, 2027 release and the correct platform.
- Check whether the edition is physical or digital; the Japanese standard price is the same for both, while the digital deluxe edition costs more.
- For the North American Limited Edition, verify that the soundtrack, Steelbook and art book are listed in the package contents.
- Review the local language information, especially if importing a Japanese package.
- Treat Archer’s trailer as a character spotlight, not confirmation of the full rival roster or every story route.
