Legend Edition includes the base game and Season Passes 1 and 2; Revenge Edition adds Season Pass 3. On Nintendo Switch 2, the Standard Edition is the base game alone, while the Starter Edition includes all three passes. That difference matters: the two digital bundles announced by SNK on October 10, 2026, share a listed price, but they do not include the same amount of DLC.
In brief, Standard is the base-game-only option, Legend bundles the first two fighter passes, and Revenge bundles all three. Switch 2 has its own Standard and Starter names, with Starter serving as the all-passes bundle. Pass rosters and listed prices are not the same thing as a live store offer, so check the exact edition and included-content list for your platform and region before paying.

What does each edition include?
SNK’s October 10, 2026 announcement gives the clearest current comparison for the digital bundles. The announced prices below are not guaranteed checkout prices: SNK says storefront prices may vary. Check the live listing for your platform and region before buying.

For Switch 2, SNK announced digital availability on October 22, 2026. The January 21, 2027 physical release date in that announcement applies to Japan; physical availability and timing for other regions were still to be announced. Do not treat that date as a confirmed worldwide launch.

The central difference between the two similarly priced digital bundles is straightforward: Legend stops after Season Pass 2, while Revenge also includes Season Pass 3. At the prices announced by SNK, both are $49.99 / €49.99. That makes the pass number especially important when comparing a listing or an offer. It does not mean every store currently charges those prices, or that the editions have identical terms in every region.
Switch 2 uses a separate naming distinction. Its Standard Edition is base game only, and its Starter Edition adds Season Passes 1, 2, and 3. SNK announced Starter at $29.99 / €29.99 digitally. The Switch 2 announcement did not give a physical price. Do not infer that Starter and the similarly named Standard contain the same add-ons, or assume a physical listing has the digital bundle’s exact contents.
What do the season passes include?
The announced pass contents are listed below. These are fighter rosters; the announcements cited here do not establish any additional pass features, such as cosmetics or other bonuses.

| Pass | Announced fighters | Price or listing detail |
|---|---|---|
| Season Pass 1 | Andy Bogard, Ken, Joe Higashi, Chun-Li, and Mr. Big | Steam lists it as a separate digital product; a current price is not stated here. |
| Season Pass 2 | Kim Jae Hoon, Nightmare Geese, Blue Mary, Wolfgang Krauser, Mr. Karate, and Kenshiro | Steam lists it as a separate digital product; a current price is not stated here. |
| Season Pass 3 | Rick Strowd, Duck King, Kim Kaphwan, Manjiro Sano, Ken Ryuguji, Laocorn, and Reina | Listed at $19.99 / €19.99 in SNK’s October 10 announcement; storefront pricing may vary. |
Season Pass 1 contains five named fighters, Season Pass 2 contains six, and the current Season Pass 3 lineup contains seven. Taken together, the three announced rosters name 18 fighters. This count describes the listed pass rosters; it should not be read as a promise about when every individual fighter becomes available or as a list of other possible game content.
Season Pass 1 and Season Pass 2 rosters were announced by SNK in January 2026. SNK’s October 10 announcement supplies the current Season Pass 3 roster and schedule. Steam also lists season passes separately, so a player can check the specific add-on listing on that storefront rather than assuming every edition name or bundle maps identically across platforms.

If you are shopping for a single pass rather than an edition bundle, keep the distinction between an included pass and a standalone listing in mind. Steam’s listing confirms that Season Passes 1 and 2 are offered as separate digital products, but no current standalone price for either is specified here. SNK’s October 10 announcement lists Season Pass 3 at $19.99 / €19.99; a storefront’s live price can differ. The available product information names fighter rosters, but does not establish other bonuses or features, so do not assume extras that are not written on the listing.
Which edition should you buy?
Choose Standard if you only want the base game
The Standard Edition is the base game without any of the three passes. It is the straightforward option if you want to play the main game and do not want to pay for the listed additional fighters as part of the initial purchase. The Switch 2 digital Standard price announced by SNK is $19.99 / €19.99; prices and availability on other platforms or storefronts may differ.
Standard is also the clearest choice if you are not ready to decide about the passes at checkout. It avoids buying a bundle that includes add-ons you may not want. If you later consider purchasing a pass separately, check that platform’s add-on page and current price; the fact that Steam lists separate passes does not establish the same purchase options or pricing on every platform.
Compare Legend and Revenge carefully
The word to check is the pass number. Legend covers the first two passes; Revenge includes those same two plus the third. SNK announced both digital editions at $49.99 / €49.99, so, at those announced prices, Revenge includes one additional pass for the same listed amount. This is a comparison of SNK’s announcement, not a promise that either bundle currently costs that amount in every store or currency.
Choose between them based on which announced content you want included, not just on the shared bundle price. Legend contains Passes 1 and 2, whose listed rosters total 11 fighters. Revenge adds the seven fighters listed for Pass 3, for 18 across the three passes. These totals are a count of the named pass rosters, not a measure of gameplay value or a guarantee that every fighter has already been released.

- Free demo with save-data carry over

If you already own the base game or one or more passes, inspect the bundle’s ownership and upgrade terms in your platform store before purchasing. The cited announcements identify bundle contents and announced prices, but do not specify how every storefront handles duplicate ownership, refunds, or bundle adjustments.
On Switch 2, distinguish Starter from Standard
The Switch 2 names differ by a single word, but their contents differ substantially: Starter includes all three season passes, whereas Standard contains only the base game. Confirm that the listing says “Starter Edition” if you are buying specifically for the bundled passes. The announced Starter price is $29.99 / €29.99 digitally; SNK did not state a physical price in its Switch 2 announcement.
Timing and format matter as well. SNK announced Switch 2 digital availability for October 22, 2026. The January 21, 2027 physical release date applies to Japan only, and the announcement said other regions would be announced later. If you are buying a physical copy outside Japan, do not rely on that date or assume the physical edition includes the same passes as Starter without checking the local product listing.
When are Season Pass 3 fighters planned to arrive?
SNK’s October 10, 2026 announcement schedules Manjiro Sano and Ken Ryuguji for October 2026, Laocorn for November, and Reina for December. These are planned months, not exact release days. SNK says timing may change, so use the platform listing or a later SNK update for the current release status.
The same announcement names Rick Strowd, Duck King, and Kim Kaphwan as Season Pass 3 fighters but does not specify their release months in the schedule summarized here. Earlier announcements contained older or less complete roster information; the October 10 announcement is the latest located roster and timing update as of October 12, 2026.

- Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R passionately captures the art style that is vintage JoJo, allowing you to experience the JoJo universe as if Hirohiko Araki's manga had come to life

- Obtain special in-game cosmetics, voice overs, & poses in over 100 battles with various modes, settings, and conditions - All-Star Battle Mode features clashes between characters from the original game, & brand-new battles unique to All-Star Battle R
- The game design has been reinvigorated with adjustments to the fighting tempo and the addition of hit stops and jump dashes - Along with new audio recordings from the Part 6 anime voice actors, the full atmosphere of the animate series is realized
For a purchase decision, the important distinction is between the full announced roster and the dated portion of the schedule. All seven names are part of the current Season Pass 3 lineup, but only four have months listed in the October 10 schedule: two in October, one in November, and one in December 2026. The announcement does not give exact days for those arrivals, and it does not give months for the other three in the schedule summarized here. Treat the months as plans rather than guarantees.

- Edition name: Confirm Standard, Legend, Revenge, or Switch 2 Starter rather than relying on artwork or a generic “complete” description.
- Included passes: Read the storefront’s included-content list. Legend and Revenge are not interchangeable, and Switch 2 Standard and Starter are not interchangeable.
- Platform and region: SNK’s announced prices are digital prices and may not match the live price in your storefront. Edition names and contents may not appear identically on every platform or in every region.
- Physical format: The stated January 21, 2027 Switch 2 physical date is for Japan only. A physical edition’s exact contents and price should be confirmed from the regional listing.
- Release schedule: Season 3’s monthly dates are planned and may change; no exact day is established for the scheduled months in the October announcement.
- Existing ownership: If you have already bought the base game or a pass, review how the store handles ownership before buying a bundle. The announcements do not spell out duplicate-content, refund, or upgrade rules for every storefront.
- Standalone pass pricing: Do not assume that an announced bundle price tells you the separate price of each included pass. Check the standalone add-on page where available; current listings and prices may vary.
SNK’s April 24, 2026 announcement confirms a Standard Edition containing the base game only. For current listings, Steam displays separate pass products and edition bundles, but prices and availability can change. The most reliable purchase check is the exact storefront page for the platform and region where you intend to play.
