Where can you play the demo?
According to GAMINGbible, the demo is available on PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store, as well as on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. The report also says a Nintendo Switch 2 version is scheduled for late October 2026; that is a reported future release window, not confirmation that the version is currently available. Check the relevant platform store for availability in your region.

Classic Versus
You can play against the CPU or set up CPU-versus-CPU matches. The demo does not include player-versus-player play in this mode, so it is not a way to test local head-to-head matches.
Practice and customization
The report also lists Training, Tutorial, Trial and Colour Edit. These give players ways to learn the controls, practise and adjust character colours.

Does Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves have a story mode?
The full game includes Episodes of South Town (EOST), described in its promotional text as a single-player RPG adventure. That text says players face contenders under varying fight conditions and earn XP and other rewards. GAMINGbible’s report does not establish that EOST is included in the demo; the demo’s Arcade offering is described as two prologue matches.

No. GAMINGbible reports that progress made in the demo does not carry over to the full game. Treat the demo as a separate trial rather than a way to start a transferable save.

The demo can give you a hands-on look at its six-character roster, basic training options and CPU-focused fighting. It cannot answer questions about player-versus-player play from within the demo, and the report does not establish its online features, full-game pricing or competitive performance. The game’s broader appeal is a separate question: GAMINGbible reported a Metacritic score of 80 in 2026, but did not specify the platform or edition, and that figure may no longer reflect the current score. Check Metacritic directly if a current rating matters to your decision.
GAMINGbible also situates the series historically, reporting that Fatal Fury debuted in Neo Geo arcades in November 1991 and arrived on the home Neo Geo console a month later. Those dates are the report’s account; they are not needed to judge what this particular demo contains.
