Verdict: The FAQ™ 202 is a genuinely convenient premium LED mask, with flexible silicone, cordless operation and eight selectable light settings. Its strongest advantages are comfort and adherence; its weakest are the $799 U.S. price, mandatory app activation before first use, and limited independently verifiable evidence for the device’s percentage-based results. Buy it if you value a wearable, multitasking-friendly design and will use it three to five times weekly. Skip it if you want the best value or a simple red/near-infrared protocol.

What the FAQ Swiss 202 is—and what it is not
The FAQ™ 202 is a wireless silicone LED face mask in the FAQ Swiss ecosystem associated with FOREO. It is a cosmetic light-treatment device, not a substitute for diagnosis or treatment by a dermatologist. Do not confuse it with the FAQ 201 or the FAQ 202 plus. The plus model is listed at $1,099, has 634 light points and additional forehead LEDs; those specifications do not describe the standard 202.

At the August 16, 2026 check, the standard mask was listed at $799 for U.S. delivery, with VAT and duty included on the configured page. Retail packages can vary, but the listed contents include the mask, charging accessories, a display case, cleaning spray and documentation. Check the exact package shown at checkout rather than assuming a bundle’s serum or accessories are included in the bare-device price.
#1 Best Overall
- Ultra-lightweight & wireless, this advanced silicone face mask mimics facial contours to quickly address and alleviate the most common skin concerns.
Photos and appearance when worn
The 202 has a soft, molded silicone body, large eye openings, a rear strap and a control housing at the forehead. Product photos on the official FOREO page show the mask folded, in its presentation case and lit in different modes. When evaluating photos, look closely at the nose bridge, nostril clearance, cheek contact, chin alignment, strap tension and the forehead housing. “600 light points” is the manufacturer’s term; it does not mean 600 visibly exposed bulbs. One hands-on reviewer described light emerging through central areas and indents rather than seeing a separate diode at every dot (review with close-up photos).
A useful photo set should include the mask front and rear, charging port and button, folded mask beside the case, a side profile while worn, and illuminated red/near-infrared and blue or multicolor modes. Lighting and camera settings can make LEDs appear brighter or change their apparent color, so images should be treated as fit and design documentation, not proof of treatment efficacy.
Comfort, fit and storage
Independent coverage generally favors the flexible silicone. The mask is described as lightweight, breathable and comfortable enough to walk around in, with generous eye openings and a strap that does not readily snag hair (hands-on comfort report). Cordless use makes it practical to move around instead of sitting beside a wall outlet.

- NEXT-GEN WEARABLE SKINCARE Ultra-light, wireless, and made with soft silicone, FAQ 202 Plus covers the full face for consistent, comfortable light care.
- LIGHTS THAT POWER YOUR GLOW Eight light settings cater to various skin needs, delivering a refreshed, radiant, and even-looking complexion.
- TOTAL FACE COVERAGE 634 strategically placed glow points ensure every inch of your skin receives balanced light exposure.
- DESIGNED TO MOVE WITH YOU Soft, adaptable silicone molds to your face like a second skin for maximum comfort during use.
- HANDS-FREE & APP-CONNECTED Lightweight, wireless, with an open-eye design and non-slip headband for easy use on the go; connect to the app for custom light settings.
Fit is not universal. The nose area was uncomfortable for one reviewer, particularly when exhaling. The silicone also attracts dust, oil and fingerprints, while the head-shaped case takes more storage space than a simple pouch. Loosen the strap rather than pulling it tight; people with a prominent nose bridge, deviated septum or breathing sensitivity should consider a design with different nose clearance.
LED modes and what the colors mean
| Mode | Wavelength | How the manufacturer positions it |
|---|---|---|
| Near-infrared | 850 nm | Used with red light for anti-aging-oriented routines |
| Red | 650 nm | Wrinkle, firmness and elasticity claims |
| Blue | 465 nm | Blemish-oriented cosmetic claims |
| Green | 520 nm | Uneven-tone and pigmentation-oriented cosmetic claims |
| Orange | 600 nm | Dullness and radiance-oriented cosmetic claims |
| Yellow | 580 nm | Redness and tone-oriented cosmetic claims |
| Purple | 440 nm | Combined-color cosmetic routine |
| Cyan | 485 nm | Texture and appearance-oriented cosmetic routine |
FAQ states that green, orange, purple, cyan and yellow are not intended to have a medical effect. Wavelength is only one part of a light treatment; irradiance, dose, coverage, treatment time and consistent use also matter. More colors therefore do not automatically mean better clinical results.
App requirement and everyday operation
“Wireless” does not mean usable straight out of the box. The manual requires initial unlocking and registration in the FAQ Swiss app. After activation, the mask can be operated manually.

Skincare, cleaning and safety
Products underneath the mask
The manual allows personal skincare but advises avoiding silicones, acids, vitamin A, retinol or other retinoids, AHAs, benzoyl peroxide, vitamin C and other photosensitizing ingredients. The brand recommends its Red Light Peptide Serum; that recommendation does not establish that the serum is necessary. If you use prescription products or have photosensitivity concerns, ask a clinician before treatment.
Cleaning
- Spray with the brand’s silicone cleaning spray.
- Wet a lint-free cloth with warm water and wipe away residue.
- Allow the mask to dry fully before storage.
- Do not rinse it under running water or use alcohol, petrol or acetone.
When not to use it
- Stop if discomfort or prolonged redness occurs.
- Do not use on wounds, ulcerations, trauma, postoperative wounds, sunburned or inflamed skin.
- Do not stare directly at the LEDs.
- Do not share the mask for hygiene reasons.
- Keep it away from direct sunlight, extreme heat and boiling water.
- Seek medical advice first if you have an eye disorder, serious skin condition, take photosensitizing medication or are receiving medical treatment.
Results: what is established and what is not
Manufacturer claims
FAQ reports 32% fewer wrinkles in two weeks, 48% fewer acne lesions and 18% less sebum, along with improved firmness and elasticity. These are manufacturer-reported clinical claims. The product page does not provide the study design, sample size, comparator, endpoints or publication details needed to independently assess those percentages (manufacturer specifications and claims).

Independent experience
British Vogue described perceived improvements in blemishes, pigmentation, pores and texture after using the mask every other day for two weeks (Vogue review). Another reviewer reported no dramatic change after a month and stressed consistency; that review disclosed sponsorship by FAQ Swiss (hands-on review). These accounts are subjective and cannot establish an average result.
A sensible expectation is gradual, variable improvement rather than a guaranteed two-week transformation. If you document progress, use the same camera, distance, lighting, expression and makeup-free condition, and avoid introducing several new skincare products at once.
FAQ 202 versus FAQ 202 plus
| Feature | FAQ 202 | FAQ 202 plus |
|---|---|---|
| Listed U.S. price checked August 16, 2026 | $799 | $1,099 |
| Light points | 600 | 634 |
| Forehead coverage | Standard layout | Additional forehead LEDs |
| Claimed intensity | Standard | 50% higher, according to the manufacturer |
| Independent incremental benefit | Not established in the sources reviewed | |
The plus model makes sense only if extra forehead coverage is your priority and the premium is acceptable. More light points alone do not demonstrate a proportionally better outcome.

How it compares with alternatives
Readers focused on a narrower red/near-infrared anti-aging protocol may prefer CurrentBody Skin LED Light Therapy Mask or Omnilux Contour Face. Those products emphasize fewer, more targeted wavelengths rather than eight cosmetic color modes. A buyer who prefers a rigid, structured treatment may consider the Dr. Dennis Gross DRx SpectraLite FaceWare Pro. Within the same ecosystem, the FAQ 201 has fewer modes and should be checked for current regional availability and price.
These are design and treatment-proposition comparisons, not claims that one device produces superior clinical results. Current prices and specifications should be verified on each official page.
Common problems and fixes
The mask will not turn on
- Confirm that app unlocking and registration were completed.
- Charge the device and disconnect it from the charger before use.
- For pairing, enable Bluetooth, turn the mask off and hold the button for three seconds.
- Restart the app and phone if the device remains undiscoverable.
Skin becomes irritated
Stop treatment, review any retinoid, acid, benzoyl peroxide, vitamin C or other photosensitizing product used underneath, and seek clinical advice if symptoms persist.

Final verdict
The FAQ Swiss 202 is best understood as a premium convenience purchase. Its flexible, breathable body and cordless operation may make regular use easier than a rigid or tethered mask, and the app offers unusually broad customization. At $799, however, you are paying substantially for design, comfort, wireless freedom and ecosystem features—not proven results eight times better than a simpler red/near-infrared mask. It is a reasonable buy for a committed user who values wearability and will follow the schedule; it is poor value for occasional users, app-averse buyers or anyone expecting independently verified dramatic results in two weeks.
