Raven Rock is not an established, currently accessible location in Fallout 76. Bethesda announced on September 30, 2026, that a Raven Rock story is coming in 2027, expanding the map toward the Capital Wasteland. In Fallout lore, Raven Rock is an Enclave facility known from Fallout 3.
Can you visit Raven Rock in Fallout 76?
Not as an established Fallout 76 location. Bethesda describes the game’s home region as Appalachia, once known as West Virginia, and says Expeditions can take players beyond it. Its September 2026 announcement describes Raven Rock as part of future content arriving in 2027—not a place players can currently navigate to in the game.

What is Raven Rock in Fallout lore?
In Fallout 3 lore, Raven Rock is a former U.S. military base and fallout shelter in the mountains of Pennsylvania. Fallout Wiki’s fan-maintained entry describes it as the Enclave’s principal base in the Capital Wasteland by 2277, the period of Fallout 3. The entry also summarizes the site’s continuity-of-government purpose and the role of its ZAX computer.

What did Bethesda announce for Fallout 76?
In its September 30, 2026 directors’ letter, Bethesda Game Studios said Fallout 76’s map will expand toward the Capital Wasteland in a story set “almost 200 years” before Fallout 3. The announcement describes a cold-war conflict in the southeast between two derelict Enclave operators and frames the story as a prelude to the Lone Wanderer’s journey.

The letter was introduced by Creative Director Jon Rush and Production Director Bill LaCoste. It also mentions a destruction “27 years ago” in a teaser passage, but does not specify the event there; the announcement does not support assigning it a more precise meaning.
Bethesda says the story is coming in 2027. The announcement does not give a specific release date, platform-by-platform expansion details, price, purchase options, or gameplay access instructions. Those details remain unannounced in that letter.
