Fairshake says it is backing 32 House candidates for the November 2026 midterms: 19 Republicans and 13 Democrats. It has announced $1 million commitments for six of them; the amounts planned for the other 26 have not been disclosed in the reporting available. The announcement follows a Senate setback for digital-asset market-structure legislation and comes as Fairshake separately plans nearly $30 million in spending against Ohio Senate candidate Sherrod Brown.

Who is Fairshake backing in the 2026 House races?

The Associated Press reports that Fairshake’s slate includes 32 candidates: 19 Republicans and 13 Democrats. Roll Call names the candidates below, but the names in its account do not add up to all 32. The sources cited here therefore do not establish a complete name-by-name roster.

How much is Fairshake spending on House candidates?

Fairshake announced $1 million each for six candidates: Democrats Janelle Bynum, Steven Horsford and Derek Tran, and Republicans French Hill, Bryan Steil and Bill Huizenga. AP and Roll Call did not report planned amounts for the other 26 candidates. The six commitments are not a total budget for the slate, and the available reporting does not support calculating one.

Cash-on-hand figures reported at the end of August refer to different scopes. AP put Fairshake and its affiliates at about $120 million, while Roll Call, citing Federal Election Commission data, reported $108 million for Fairshake itself. These are dated snapshots, not October cash totals.

Why does Fairshake say it is supporting these candidates?

Fairshake spokesperson Geoff Vetter told AP, “We back pro-crypto candidates who support American innovation in both parties.” AP reports that all 32 candidates supported legislation that was a priority for the cryptocurrency industry. That reported alignment and Fairshake’s stated rationale do not show that crypto policy was the only factor in each candidate’s selection.

Fairshake describes itself as a federal independent expenditure-only committee registered with the Federal Election Commission. Its website says it supports candidates “solely through its independent activities.” Independent expenditures are distinct from candidate-authorized campaign activity; the committee’s status is not evidence that its spending is coordinated with the candidates’ campaigns. FactCheck.org describes Protect Progress and Defend American Jobs as affiliated super PACs.

What happened to the digital-asset market-structure bill?

The House passed digital-assets market-structure legislation in July 2025. The measure later stalled in the Senate and was blocked in a procedural vote in September 2026 amid disagreements that included ethics safeguards. Fairshake’s House-candidate announcement followed that setback, placing its support for crypto-aligned candidates in the context of legislation that had not advanced in the Senate.

How does the House slate fit Fairshake’s broader political spending?

AP reported that Fairshake’s biggest general-election House tranche is smaller than its separately announced plan to spend nearly $30 million against Sherrod Brown in the Ohio Senate race. That is a distinct race and spending plan, not part of the House slate. In 2024, AP reported, Brown faced nearly $40 million in cryptocurrency spending and lost to Bernie Moreno.

Fairshake’s network has supported candidates in both parties: AP says it spent about $10 million each in 2024 to support Democratic Senate candidates Ruben Gallego and Elissa Slotkin. The figures concern different candidates, races and cycles, so they should not be combined as if they described the 2026 House commitments.

The Federal Election Commission’s historical PAC Table 12b lists Fairshake disbursements of $161,258,594 from January 1, 2023, through September 30, 2024. That official figure covers the stated historical period; it is not a 2026 spending total.

For a separate 2026-cycle snapshot, FactCheck.org reported on August 7 that Fairshake had received almost $137 million in the cycle and had about $127 million on hand in its latest filing in July. The same profile reported at least $51 million contributed to the two affiliated super PACs during the 2026 cycle. Those figures predate the end-of-August cash figures reported by AP and Roll Call and measure different things.
