The Galaxy S26 Ultra is listed with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy, and the processor in the other models depends on the device and market. That is evidence of renewed flagship placement, not proof that Exynos has recovered market share or profitability.
Which Galaxy S26 models use Exynos 2600?
Samsung’s February 26, 2026 announcement lists Exynos 2600 and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 as processor options for the Galaxy S26 and S26+. It lists the S26 Ultra with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy. Samsung cautions that application processor type varies by device and market, so the model name alone may not tell you which chip a phone sold in your country contains.

Before buying an S26 or S26+, check the processor for the exact regional model or SKU on Samsung’s local product listing or with the retailer. Do not assume that every S26 or S26+ uses Exynos, or that the Ultra does.

What makes this a comeback—and what does it not prove?
The clearest evidence is that Exynos 2600 has a place in Samsung’s current flagship-phone lineup. That matters because it is a concrete device deployment, rather than a claim about a future chip alone. “Slow comeback” is a reasonable description of that limited return to flagship phones.

It is not evidence, by itself, of a broad business recovery. Samsung’s device announcement and 2026 first-quarter interim report do not establish Exynos market share, shipment growth, manufacturing yields, profitability, or a sustained roadmap for future Galaxy generations. Those questions require evidence beyond the announcement of one processor and its potential use in two phone models.
What Samsung says about the Exynos 2600
2nm GAA manufacturing
Samsung describes Exynos 2600 as its first mobile application processor based on a 2nm gate-all-around (GAA) process. In its 2026 first-quarter interim report, Samsung says mass production of its first-generation 2nm GAA process began in September 2025. These are Samsung’s product and manufacturing claims; the process milestone does not, on its own, establish how many chips can be produced or at what yield.

Performance claims versus Exynos 2500
Samsung’s 2026 first-quarter interim report says Exynos 2600 delivers 39% higher CPU performance, 50% improved GPU ray tracing, and 113% higher NPU AI performance than Exynos 2500. These are company-reported comparisons, not independent, matched-condition tests of Galaxy S26 phones. They should not be read as proof of better battery life, cooler operation, or superior sustained performance against the Snapdragon version.

Samsung’s Exynos 2600 product page also describes its Xclipse 960 GPU as offering twice the computing performance of its predecessor and up to 50% better ray tracing, and says its Exynos Neural Super Sampling (ENSS) can make gaming feel up to three times smoother. Those are Samsung’s stated product benefits, not independently established results.

What to compare if you’re choosing an S26
The available official information identifies processor options and includes Samsung’s own chip comparisons, but it does not provide an independent, like-for-like Exynos-versus-Snapdragon evaluation. For a useful comparison, first confirm the chip in the exact regional phone, then look for matched testing of sustained performance, heat, battery life, and device price and availability. Do not infer those outcomes from headline performance percentages alone.
For practical purchase details, Samsung says power adapters are sold separately and recommends a 25W adapter for the S26 and a 45W adapter for the S26+. Check compatibility with the specific handset and the terms for your market.
