That distinction matters. The reported scores below can provide context, but they are not 9400+ results and cannot establish which chip is faster in a matched device test.
First, distinguish the Dimensity 9400+ from the Dimensity 9400
MediaTek sells the Dimensity 9400 and Dimensity 9400+ as separate chip models. The benchmark figures available for a direct comparison with Exynos 2400 are for the base Dimensity 9400, not the 9400+. Do not treat them as interchangeable or attribute the base model’s scores to the Plus variant.

How the specifications compare
| Specification | Samsung Exynos 2400 | MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ |
|---|---|---|
| CPU cores | Deca-core, tri-cluster architecture; Samsung highlights Arm Cortex-X4. | 1× Arm Cortex-X925 up to 3.73 GHz, 3× Cortex-X4, and 4× Cortex-A720. |
| GPU | Xclipse 940, based on AMD RDNA 3; Samsung highlights hardware-accelerated ray tracing. | Arm Immortalis-G925 MC12. |
| Manufacturing process | Samsung describes a third-generation 4 nm low-power process. | MediaTek lists a 3 nm process. |
| AI | Samsung claims 14.7-fold improved AI performance compared with Exynos 2200. | MediaTek lists NPU 890 and generative and agentic AI features. |
| Memory and storage support | The consulted product page emphasizes headline capabilities; a comparable detailed configuration is not stated there. | LPDDR5X up to 10667 Mbps and UFS 4 with MCQ. |
Specifications are platform capabilities, not proof of how a particular phone is configured. The Dimensity memory and storage maximums do not mean every device using the chip implements them. Likewise, process labels from different manufacturers are not enough to determine comparative efficiency. Samsung’s AI figure is specifically a comparison with the Exynos 2200, not with MediaTek’s chip. See the manufacturers’ Exynos 2400 product page and MediaTek’s Dimensity 9400+ specifications.

What the available benchmark numbers say—and do not say
NanoReview’s comparison page reports database aggregates for Exynos 2400 versus the base Dimensity 9400. The page, as accessed October 7, 2026, showed these results:
| Benchmark | Exynos 2400 | Dimensity 9400 (base model) | Samples shown |
|---|---|---|---|
| Geekbench 6 single-core | 2,115 | 2,797 | 38 Exynos; 22 Dimensity |
| Geekbench 6 multi-core | 6,826 | 8,767 | 38 Exynos; 22 Dimensity |
| AnTuTu 11 total | 2,046,435 | 2,825,187 | 93 Exynos; 72 Dimensity |
These are NanoReview’s reported aggregates, not results from a controlled test conducted on identical devices. The sample counts represent multiple device entries, and the MediaTek column is the 9400, not the 9400+. The scores therefore suggest how the base 9400 sample performed on that page, but they do not answer how the 9400+ compares with Exynos 2400. See NanoReview’s comparison for its displayed figures.

CPU: a newer lead core is not a complete performance verdict
The 9400+ pairs one Cortex-X925 core with three Cortex-X4 cores and four Cortex-A720 cores. Exynos 2400 is a deca-core, tri-cluster design that Samsung highlights as using Cortex-X4. These configurations differ in core count and arrangement, but a peak clock or core name alone does not reveal sustained speed, responsiveness in a particular app, or performance under a phone’s thermal limits.

GPU: architecture claims need device-level game tests
Samsung identifies the Xclipse 940 as based on AMD RDNA 3 and highlights hardware ray tracing; MediaTek specifies an Immortalis-G925 MC12 GPU for the 9400+. Those details describe the graphics hardware, not a direct gaming result. Frame rates, stability, image settings, heat, and power draw depend on the handset, game, software, and test conditions. The available benchmark comparison does not establish a robust direct gaming result for these two chips.
Why the phone matters as much as the chip
Benchmark results belong to device configurations, not to an abstract chip in isolation. Geekbench’s Android listing associates scores with named devices, including a Galaxy S24 with Exynos 2400 and a Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra with Dimensity 9400+. That is useful evidence that device identity matters, but it is not a controlled comparison between those products or between the two chipsets. See the Geekbench Android benchmark listing.
The official 9400+ page consulted is categorized under tablets, so check the exact device, form factor, and market before assuming a particular phone is available with it. Exynos 2400 appears in Galaxy S24 benchmark entries, but Samsung device processor variants can differ by market; verify the precise model and regional specification before buying.
For a purchase decision, compare the actual devices you can buy. Look for testing that names the exact models and software versions, uses the same benchmark or game settings, and reports sustained performance, temperature, and battery impact. Chip specifications alone do not establish phone battery life, thermal behavior, software support, regional availability, or value.
