The Excelair EPA58041BS is a portable air conditioner with a manufacturer-rated cooling capacity of 4.1 kW. Its official 2024 manual also specifies 1,577 W power consumption in cooling mode, a required outdoor exhaust setup, and filter-care steps that owners should follow. These are published specifications and instructions—not independent test results or a guarantee of room-cooling performance.

These are manufacturer-listed values, not measurements from an independent test. The manual says rated performance testing follows EN 14511; its cooling test conditions are 35°C dry-bulb and 24°C wet-bulb. A rating under specified conditions does not establish how quickly the unit will cool a particular room. The manual does not provide an EPA58041BS room-size recommendation, independent efficiency result, or noise rating.
The manual covers several EPA580 variants, so specifications and features should be checked against the EPA58041BS column and the unit’s own rating label. Do not transfer the heating-capacity entry for EPA58041RWB to this model, or assume a feature belongs to the EPA58041BS simply because it appears in series-wide control-panel material.

Why the exhaust hose and window kit matter
As a portable air conditioner, the EPA58041BS must discharge heat outdoors. The manual requires the supplied exhaust pipe and window spacer arrangement, installed according to its diagrams and safety instructions. Use the shortest practical route, and avoid kinks or bends: the manual warns that restricted exhaust flow can let expelled moist air build up and lead to overheating or shutdown.
The manual says not to extend the exhaust hose and to replace it only with the same original manufacturer pipe. Do not substitute a generic extension or assume another EPA580 variant’s window fittings will fit. The manual does not identify a replacement hose or window-kit part number.

How to clean the air filters
- Switch off and unplug the appliance before cleaning.
- Remove the washable air filter or filters as shown in the manual.
- Gently tap out dust and debris or vacuum them, then rinse under warm running water.
- Let the filters dry thoroughly before reinstalling them.
- Confirm the filters are fitted before operating the unit.
The manual’s warning is explicit: “Never operate the appliance without filter/s installed.”
How often to replace the carbon filter
The supplied activated-carbon filter is not washable. Check it periodically and replace it when necessary; the manual gives approximately six months as a guide, while noting that its life varies with ambient conditions. The manual does not state a replacement-filter SKU, so confirm the exact EPA58041BS compatibility with the manufacturer or an authorized parts seller before ordering.

What to check if cooling or operation seems poor
The manual’s troubleshooting guidance points to basic checks before seeking service:
- The unit will not turn on: Check the power connection and whether the full-water indicator is lit.
- Cooling seems weak: Consider room heat sources, open doors or windows, direct sunlight, a dusty filter, or a blocked air intake or outlet.
- Noise is excessive: Check that the appliance is standing on an even surface.
Do not dismantle the appliance yourself. The manual says only a licensed professional may dismantle it, and refrigerant-related maintenance must be handled by appropriately competent personnel.

End-of-season storage
Before storage, the manual advises draining accumulated water and running the appliance in ventilation mode for at least two hours. It states that EPA580-series storage should be in a room larger than 15 m². That is a storage instruction, not a recommended room size for cooling.
