Cooling performance: what the evidence can and cannot tell you

If you are considering the unit for a particular room, compare its stated capacity and the retailer’s room-size guidance with your conditions, but do not treat the 18 m² figure as a guarantee. Independent testing specific to the EWTP9 would be needed to substantiate a stronger performance claim.

An ERAC registration record reproduced by device.report identifies the EWTP9 as a mobile-type air conditioner, names Glen Dimplex Australia Pty Ltd and lists an electrical input of 220–240 V AC, 4.5 A, 1000 W and 50 Hz, with R290 refrigerant. The record gives a registration period from 11 May 2022 through 10 May 2027.

Queensland’s Resources Safety and Health register separately lists the EWTP9 as a Glen Dimplex Australia air conditioner using R290, under approval certificate 20139 dated 26 May 2022. These entries establish what the records list; registration dates are not a substitute for checking current product support or approval status.

The EWTP9 may be worth considering if you want a portable, cooling-only unit and its listed dimensions, weight, functions and electrical ratings suit your needs. The retailer’s room guidance gives a starting point, while the lack of a model-specific independent performance result means cooling effectiveness cannot be confidently judged from the published capacity alone.
