Evos, short for Evolutionary Operating System, emerged from stealth on October 14, 2026, with $9 million in pre-seed funding to build software operators that learn operational work from experienced employees. Its Workhorse platform is aimed at small and midsize businesses in freight, logistics, manufacturing and other physical industries, where critical decisions often live in people’s habits rather than formal documentation.
What Evos announced
Evolutionary Operating System, Inc. said the round was co-led by Uncork Capital and Field Ventures, with Crosslink Capital, Utopia Capital Management, Sandwith Ventures and angel investors also participating. Evos says Workhorse will become generally available later in 2026.

The product creates an autonomous operator for a defined business function. Rather than requiring a company to replace its transportation-management system (TMS), enterprise-resource-planning (ERP) system or other core software, the operator is designed to work inside the systems employees already use.
Founder and CEO Urav Shah described the problem this way: “The most capable system in many of these businesses is the person who has been there 20 years, and what they know has never been written down.” Evos’s pitch is to capture that judgment by observing how experienced staff handle real work, then put the resulting operator through a controlled approval process.

How an Evos operator learns a job
Evos’s model is not a chatbot that waits for a text prompt. It starts with a bounded operational task and learns from decisions made in the company’s existing workflow.
- Choose a task. Examples reported by SiliconANGLE include answering broker calls, chasing missing paperwork, reconciling invoices and building freight loads.
- Observe experienced workers. The operator watches how subject-matter experts interpret information, choose an action and handle exceptions.
- Run behind an approval gate. A human reviews each proposed action and can approve, modify or reject it. Those outcomes become learning signals.
- Measure agreement with the team. Evos expands autonomy only after the operator demonstrates that its decisions match the team’s judgment in real-world use.
- Escalate unfamiliar cases. A task can run autonomously after it has demonstrated mastery, but cases outside its learned scope still require human approval.
The company says implementation can begin with about one hour of subject-matter-expert time, produce a working operator the next day and show measurable results within a month. Its launch announcement also claimed that work taking a consultant or implementation partner nine to 18 months can move from discovery to deployment in 24 hours. Those timelines are company claims, not independently established benchmarks.
“An Evos operator learns the job from these people, improves on it, and proves it can match them before it takes on any work by itself,” Shah said.

What performance has been reported
The strongest public customer example so far concerns freight billing. In a deployment at a freight brokerage, an operator audited less-than-truckload carrier invoices against a transportation-management system. Evos said it made nearly 3,500 decisions at 97% accuracy over two months and closed more than $600,000 in invoice value during the following five weeks.
| Measure | Reported result | How to interpret it |
|---|---|---|
| Invoice-audit decisions | Nearly 3,500 decisions at 97% accuracy over two months | Company-reported customer result; the public material does not describe an independent audit methodology. |
| Invoice value closed | More than $600,000 in the subsequent five weeks | Value attributed by Evos to the deployment, not a general revenue or savings guarantee. |
| Annual recurring revenue | More than $1 million four weeks after going live | Company-reported ARR claim. |
| Early decision accuracy | About 82% after 24 hours | Company-reported figure cited by SiliconANGLE. |
| Autonomous workload coverage | About 70% | Company-reported figure cited by SiliconANGLE; the definition of coverage is not stated. |
The 97% figure applies to the specific invoice-auditing workflow and period described above. It should not be read as an accuracy rate for every Evos operator, every industry or every type of decision. The available announcements do not provide a full reliability, safety, security or integration audit.
Why Evos is targeting veteran knowledge
Operational businesses often depend on employees who know which carrier, supplier, document or exception to trust, but that reasoning may not appear in a procedure manual. When those workers retire or leave, a company can lose both speed and institutional context.

Evos’s about page says nearly 2 million jobs are unfilled and that 10,000 people age out of legacy-sector work every day. Those figures are company statistics, and the page does not document their methodology. They support Evos’s framing of a labor and knowledge-transfer problem, but they are not an independent estimate of the market.

The important distinction is what the system learns and how it is allowed to act.

| Category | Typical learning or configuration | Typical role | Approval and escalation |
|---|---|---|---|
| AI copilot | Prompted by a user and often grounded in documents or conversation | Suggests text, analysis or next steps | User normally decides whether to execute the suggestion |
| Robotic process automation | Explicit rules and scripted steps | Executes repeatable actions in predictable interfaces | Exceptions usually follow rules designed in advance |
| Vertical business software | Configured workflows, permissions and domain data | Provides the system of record and standard process | Controls are defined by the product and administrator |
| Evos operator | Observed employee behavior plus approved, corrected and rejected decisions | Performs an operational function inside existing systems | Starts behind a human gate, expands autonomy after demonstrated agreement and escalates unfamiliar cases |
This positioning could matter to smaller operators that cannot justify a large implementation project. It also creates a dependency on the quality of the examples and corrections supplied by the customer: inconsistent judgments, missing edge cases or weak approval practices can teach the wrong behavior.

Evos identifies freight, logistics, manufacturing, healthcare, retail and other physical industries as target markets. The likely buyer is a small or midsize company with repetitive operational work, existing digital systems and a limited implementation team.
Potentially suitable tasks share several characteristics:
- They have a clear owner and an observable input-to-decision workflow.
- Experienced employees can explain or demonstrate what a correct decision looks like.
- Actions can be reviewed before money, compliance status or customer commitments are affected.
- Exceptions can be routed to a named human rather than silently processed.
For a prospective deployment, a buyer should ask Evos to define the operator’s scope, approval thresholds, escalation behavior, audit-log retention, data access, integration limits and rollback procedure. It should also request a baseline measured on its own historical workload, because the published percentages are tied to particular company-reported cases.
What remains unknown
Evos has not publicly established pricing, a complete list of supported TMS or ERP integrations, independent accuracy testing across customers, or a comprehensive safety and security assessment. Workhorse’s general-availability date is described only as later in 2026.
One customer, MyFreightWorld president Mike Chalfant, said Evos helped “revolutionize our billing process with zero upfront investment” and at a speed measured in days and weeks. That is a customer statement about one engagement, not a published commercial term or a promise that every customer pays nothing upfront.

The funding gives Evos resources to turn its human-in-the-loop deployment model into a broader product. Whether it can generalize tacit judgment across companies—and maintain high accuracy when unusual, costly or safety-sensitive cases appear—will depend on evidence beyond the launch claims now available.
