The available encounter-specific instructions for Ice King Snaerolf come from a secondary guide rather than an official boss sheet. That distinction matters: the team order and ability advice are useful as a route to try, but they should not be treated as verified developer documentation or as a guaranteed clear.

The guide’s plan has a simple shape:
- Empixy stays on the field as the main attacker.
- Meltdown is the defensive anchor. The guide says it grants two turns of status immunity, preventing Snaerolf’s freeze effects and cold pressure during that period.

How to prepare before entering the fight
Put Empixy in the lead position
Empixy is the guide’s preferred opener and main damage dealer. Starting with the intended attacker avoids spending the first turns rearranging the team while Snaerolf can act. Check that Empixy has the stated abilities available and that your reserve slot is occupied by Lavarock or another viable second attacker.
Equip maximum armor
The guide specifically recommends max armor. Treat that as the baseline defensive investment for this encounter. Tough Skin can be added if your build supports it, but it is not presented as essential. Since no source gives armor thresholds, exact damage reduction, or a required gear score, do not assume that a particular numerical armor value guarantees survival.
Place Lavarock where you can switch quickly
Lavarock is a reserve, not a mandatory lead. Its purpose is to keep the battle from ending when Empixy is knocked out. Before starting, verify that Lavarock is actually battle-ready rather than merely present in the collection: the guide’s recommendation assumes it can take over as the next attacker.

The guide says Meltdown supplies two turns of status immunity. Count those turns from the point at which the effect is applied, and plan to refresh it before the immunity expires. Do not wait until a freeze effect has already interrupted your sequence; the recommendation is preventive activation before engagement.
Step-by-step battle sequence
- Lead with Empixy. Start with the recommended attacker so every preparation turn contributes to the same damage plan.
- Activate Meltdown before engaging. The guide’s sequence begins with the defensive effect already active. This is the key timing instruction because the reported immunity is limited to two turns.
- Use Fighter’s Will to build attack. Apply the attack buff while Meltdown is protecting the opening sequence. The guide does not publish a required number of Fighter’s Will uses, so follow the move’s available in-game feedback rather than inventing a fixed count.
- Attack with Blaze Storm. Once the attack-building step is complete, use Blaze Storm as the guide’s damage choice.
- Track the remaining Meltdown turns. Treat the two-turn immunity as a countdown. Refresh Meltdown before the final protected turn ends, rather than trying to absorb a freeze and repair the plan afterward.
- Keep the cycle going while Empixy is standing. Repeat the buff-and-damage pattern only when the defensive timing remains sound. The guide’s plan is sustained pressure, not a single all-in move.
- Switch to Lavarock if Empixy falls. Bring in the reserve immediately and continue with the safest available attack sequence. Lavarock’s role is to preserve a win condition, not to replace Empixy as the preferred opening choice.
Why Meltdown is the encounter’s key decision
According to the guide, Snaerolf’s threat is not only raw damage: its freeze effects and cold pressure can disrupt the attacker’s turns. Meltdown is therefore treated as a scheduling tool as much as a defensive move. It creates a short, known window in which Fighter’s Will and Blaze Storm can be used without the reported status effects stopping the plan.
The two-turn duration makes the order important. If Meltdown is used after a freeze has already landed, part of its value may be lost to recovery or a disrupted action. If it is activated too early and then left unrefreshed, the protection can expire just as you begin the damage phase. The practical rule is to cast it immediately before the encounter’s active exchange and to refresh it while one protected turn still remains.

These duration and immunity details are reported by NerdsChalk’s August 26, 2026 guide. The official Roblox listing confirms the game’s turn-based format but does not document Snaerolf, freeze behavior, Meltdown, or a two-turn duration.
What to do when Meltdown is on cooldown
The guide raises the cooldown question but does not publish a cooldown length or a separate tested rotation. That means there is no evidence-based number of turns for a guaranteed safe wait. Use a conservative decision rule instead:
- If Empixy is healthy and Snaerolf is not immediately threatening a knockout, avoid spending your strongest damage turn until Meltdown can be restored.
- If Empixy is already in danger, switch to Lavarock rather than assuming an unprotected Blaze Storm will stabilize the fight.
- If the game allows a defensive or noncommittal action during the cooldown, use that time to preserve the active attacker; do not treat it as a replacement for the guide’s immunity.
- When Meltdown returns, re-establish the two-turn protection before restarting Fighter’s Will into Blaze Storm.
This is a risk-management interpretation of the guide’s timing advice, not a claim that every cooldown state has the same outcome. Because no cooldown value or turn-by-turn test is provided, the safest choice depends on Empixy’s current health, Snaerolf’s visible pressure, and whether Lavarock can survive the switch.
Can you beat Snaerolf without Empixy?
The guide’s answer is yes in principle: it names Lavarock as a backup and Pummash as the specific alternative when Empixy is unavailable. It also identifies Fire, Rock, Steel, or Fighting attackers as possible alternatives and recommends bringing a second attacker. No controlled success-rate comparison is supplied, so these are options to build around rather than equivalent substitutes with proven performance.
Lavarock as the backup route
Lavarock is the clearest fallback because it appears in the preferred setup as the reserve. If Empixy is unavailable, the same logic makes Lavarock the natural lead candidate to test first: maintain Meltdown protection, use Fighter’s Will, and apply the strongest suitable attack available. The guide does not state that Lavarock matches Empixy’s damage or durability, so expect the encounter to depend more heavily on armor, timing, and the second attacker.

Pummash is the guide’s specifically named Fighting-type alternative. Its warning is equally important: the guide calls Pummash fragile and recommends survivability gear. Do not build Pummash as a glass cannon if it is your only answer. Maximize the defensive support available to it, keep a second attacker ready, and preserve Meltdown timing so its limited durability is not tested unnecessarily.

Other type-based alternatives
The guide lists Fire, Rock, Steel, and Fighting attackers as possible alternatives. It does not provide a type chart interaction, damage multiplier, recommended species beyond Pummash, or minimum statistics. Choose among those categories using the factors that are actually observable in your account:
- Can the attacker use or benefit from the Meltdown-centered timing plan?
- Does it have enough durability to survive a protected and an unprotected turn?
- Can it deliver reliable damage after Fighter’s Will?
- Do you have a second attacker with a different failure profile?

The practical selection order is availability first, then survivability, then the ability to keep Meltdown active, then damage output. A theoretically favorable type is not useful if it cannot stay on the field long enough to use its attacks.

Entering without Meltdown active
Symptom: Snaerolf freezes the lead before the buff-and-damage sequence is established.

Letting the two-turn immunity expire
Symptom: The first cycle works, then the next exchange is exposed to the reported freeze effects.
Correction: Count the protected turns and refresh before the immunity ends. The timing window, not simply owning Meltdown, is the important part of the setup.

Using Blaze Storm before building attack
Symptom: Damage is spent before Fighter’s Will has done its job.
Correction: Follow the recommended order: Meltdown, Fighter’s Will, then Blaze Storm. The guide does not establish that an early Blaze Storm is never useful, but it clearly presents the buff-first sequence as the preferred route.
Treating Lavarock as optional after Empixy falls
Symptom: The team has no prepared replacement when the lead is defeated.
Correction: Keep Lavarock in reserve and switch when Empixy falls. The reserve is part of the plan, not merely collection space.
Building Pummash for damage only
Symptom: Pummash is defeated before it can exploit the Fighting-type role.
Correction: Follow the guide’s survivability warning. Equip defensive gear and treat Meltdown timing as mandatory support for a fragile attacker.

Assuming the reported HP is an exact target
Symptom: You plan a fixed number of attacks around 6,500 HP and the in-game result differs.
Correction: The 6,500 HP figure is reported by NerdsChalk and is not corroborated by the official Roblox listing. Use the health bar shown in your encounter rather than assuming the published figure applies to every version or condition.
What is and is not established about difficulty
NerdsChalk reports Snaerolf at 6,500 HP and describes a Meltdown immunity window lasting two turns. Those are the only named encounter statistics in the available material. The official listing supplies context about Evomon as a turn-based strategy game, not boss data.

Your actual outcome can vary with creature level, gear, move availability, turn order, and updates to the game.
A compact pre-fight checklist
- Empixy is selected as the lead, or Lavarock is ready to lead if Empixy is unavailable.
- Meltdown is available for the opening turn.
- Fighter’s Will and Blaze Storm are equipped and usable.
- Maximum armor is equipped; Tough Skin is added only if useful to your build.
- Lavarock or another viable second attacker occupies the reserve slot.
- If using Pummash, survivability gear is fitted because the guide describes it as fragile.
- You know when you will refresh Meltdown instead of waiting for the immunity to disappear.
- You are using the encounter’s visible health and status information rather than assuming the reported 6,500 HP applies universally.
Bottom line for your first attempt
Start with the guide’s complete route: Empixy in front, max armor equipped, Meltdown active before engagement, Fighter’s Will for the attack build, and Blaze Storm for damage. Refresh Meltdown before its reported two-turn immunity expires. Keep Lavarock ready as the replacement, and use Pummash only with added survivability if Empixy is unavailable. Fire, Rock, Steel, and other Fighting attackers are reasonable categories to test, but no evidence establishes them as equal to the preferred setup. Treat the HP and status details as secondary-guide claims, observe the fight in your current game version, and adjust the timing around what your encounter actually shows.
