It can make sense when you find a complete, locally compatible unit at a sensible price. Buy only after checking the voltage, included accessories, warranty support and exact part compatibility. Treat the advertised 99.9% germ-kill and 28-day disinfection statements as Euroflex claims, not independently confirmed performance results.

What the Euroflex SC1D1 actually is
The SC1D1 is a household floor steam cleaner in Euroflex’s Vapour M3 family. Euroflex’s current product naming calls it the Vapour M3S Superclean, while manuals and listings may say Vapour M3, Vapour M3S or Superclean SC1D1. Those names refer to the same model designation in the documentation used for this review.

Its defining feature is a dual-tank layout. A stainless-steel boiler makes steam from water, while a separate reservoir holds Antibak solution. That separation matters: the cleaning solution is not meant to go into the boiler. The boiler and solution systems are filled and used independently, so adding detergent or Antibak to the boiler can damage the appliance and creates a safety problem.

The intended jobs are steam cleaning on sealed hard floors and refreshing carpets with the supplied carpet sledge (also called a carpet glide) and carpet pad. It is not evidence that every wood, laminate, vinyl or stone floor is suitable. Steam, heat and moisture can damage a floor with vulnerable finish, open joints or failed seals.

The electrical specification is the most important purchase check. A 220–240 V appliance should not be connected to a 110–120 V supply with a simple plug adapter. A transformer, where legally and technically appropriate, does not automatically solve earthing, frequency, warranty or safety issues. Buy a version intended for your country.
What is included in the box
The retailer listing identifies the following bundle: the steam cleaner, washable microfiber floor pads, a carpet sledge and carpet pad, a parking pad, a 200 ml Antibak bottle, a filling cup and a funnel. The manual also describes separate refill and Antibak tanks and instructs users to fit either the scrubbing floor pad or the carpet accessory with its carpet pad.

Bundles can vary by seller or market, especially for discontinued stock. Ask for a photograph or written inventory if you are buying used or from a marketplace listing. A machine without the carpet sledge can still steam-clean hard floors, but it will not provide the documented carpet-refreshing setup. Missing pads are less serious if compatible replacements are available; a missing tank cap, funnel or accessory mount can be harder to replace.
How the dual-tank system works
Steam boiler
Plain water goes in the boiler. The manual says to use distilled or demineralized water if your tap water is very hard. Mineral deposits can reduce reliability and make steam output less consistent. Never put Antibak, detergent, perfume, oil or another chemical in this tank.
Antibak reservoir
Antibak is held in its own tank and supplied through the cleaner’s separate solution system. The manufacturer says Antibak is laboratory tested and certified, but the material available for this model does not provide the test protocol, organisms, contact time or certification document. That makes the separation useful operationally, but it does not let a buyer independently calculate a disinfecting dose.

Keeping solution out of the boiler avoids heating an unapproved chemical mixture and follows the manual’s safety instructions. If you are unsure which opening is the boiler or which is the Antibak tank, stop and identify the labels in the SC1D1 manual rather than guessing.

Using the SC1D1 safely, step by step
- Check the floor first. Confirm that the floor manufacturer permits steam or high-temperature moisture. Inspect for lifted edges, failed seams, cracks, unsealed grout and damaged finish. Test a hidden area and let it dry before cleaning the visible floor.
- Unplug the cleaner before filling. If it has been operating, switch it off, unplug it and allow at least five minutes for cooling. Residual steam can remain under the boiler cap.
- Open the boiler cap slowly. Turn it cautiously, keeping your face and hands away from the opening. A slow release reduces the chance of hot vapor escaping suddenly.
- Fill only with water. Use the supplied cup and funnel, and stay within the boiler’s 0.6 L capacity. Overfilling can cause excess water to be expelled during operation.
- Fill the Antibak tank separately if you intend to use it. Follow the product and manual instructions for that reservoir. Do not improvise a substitute chemical in either tank.
- Attach the correct pad. Fit the scrubbing floor pad for a sealed hard floor. For carpet refreshing, attach the carpet pad to the carpet sledge/glide as described by the manual.
- Plug into a compatible outlet and start steaming. Work in manageable passes, keeping the head moving rather than holding steam over one spot. Avoid directing steam at people, pets, electrical outlets or heat-sensitive finishes.
- Watch moisture levels. If the floor is left visibly wet, stop and reassess the steam setting, pace and floor suitability. Excess moisture is a warning sign, not proof of better cleaning.
- Stop before refilling. Unplug, wait at least five minutes, then open the cap slowly. Never force a hot cap or refill a pressurized boiler.
- Leave the floor and accessories to dry. Remove washable pads according to the care instructions and allow them to dry fully before storage. Store the machine on its parking pad in a dry location.
Which floors can it handle?
The documented use case is sealed hard flooring and carpet refreshing. That is narrower than saying it is safe for all timber, laminate or resilient floors.
Sealed hard floors
Tile, sealed stone and other moisture-tolerant surfaces are the most plausible candidates, provided the maker’s care instructions allow steam. Grout lines, transitions and perimeter joints should be intact. Steam can enter a failed seal and cause swelling or discoloration below the surface.
Wood and laminate
The manual specifically tells users to observe carefully on hardwood because excess water or steam may damage it. Follow the flooring manufacturer’s guidance, use the lowest practical exposure, keep the head moving and test an inconspicuous patch. Floating laminate with open joints and unsealed engineered wood deserve particular caution.

The supplied carpet sledge and pad are for refreshing, not for replacing a dedicated extraction machine. Refreshing can reduce surface odor or revive the pile, but it does not remove deep liquid contamination in the way hot-water extraction does. Check the carpet maker’s cleaning instructions before applying heat or moisture.

What the germ-kill claims mean
Euroflex says the Vapour M3S kills 99.9% of germs on contact and keeps floors disinfected for up to 28 days. Those are manufacturer claims. The available product information does not identify the organisms tested, the contact conditions, the amount of soil on the surface, the definition of disinfected or the laboratory report behind the statements.
Use the claims as a description of the company’s intended benefit, not as an independently verified result for every household floor. Steam performance depends on temperature at the floor, travel speed, pad condition, surface contamination and whether the whole area receives adequate exposure. A visibly clean floor is not automatically a disinfected floor, and no steam mop can make an unsuitable or contaminated surface safe by marketing language alone.
Independent test evidence: what is and is not public
CHOICE has a listing titled Euroflex Vapour M3S SC1D1 review. Its public page identifies the model as discontinued and displays selected specifications and included accessories. The expert rating, floor-wetness score and ease-of-use score are member-only. Because those scores are not visible, it is not possible to quote a CHOICE rating, recommendation or measured result from the public page.
No named independent organization’s performance statistic was identified in the material available for this model. In practical terms, the SC1D1 has documented specifications and manufacturer claims, but a buyer cannot use the public information to rank its cleaning performance against other steam cleaners.

Maintenance and replacement parts
After each session
- Unplug the cleaner and let it cool before handling the boiler or accessories.
- Empty or manage the tanks as directed by the manual rather than leaving old solution in the system indefinitely.
- Remove the microfiber pad and wash it according to its care instructions. A dirty pad redistributes soil and can increase streaking.
- Inspect the pad, carpet glide, funnel, cap and seals for damage before the next use.
Water quality
Use distilled or demineralized water when local tap water is hard, as the manual recommends. Water treatment does not make it acceptable to add fragrance, detergent or descaling chemicals to the boiler. If scale or a fault develops, use only a procedure approved for SC1D1 rather than adapting instructions for another model.
Buying pads and accessories
Euroflex’s current US parts catalog shows replacement pads and several Vapour accessories, but that catalog page does not establish SC1D1 compatibility. A part with Vapour in its name is not automatically a fit for SC1D1. Ask the seller or manufacturer to confirm the exact model number, attachment shape and market before ordering. Availability of replacement Antibak was not established, so do not assume the 200 ml bottle or its solution will remain easy to source.
Availability, warranty and used-market checks
CHOICE labels the model discontinued. Appliances Online currently marks its listing as unavailable. These facts indicate constrained supply, not proof that every seller worldwide is out of stock. Inventory, local electrical versions and warranty terms can differ.
Before paying, run this checklist:
- Read the rating label and confirm 220–240 V, 50/60 Hz, 1200 W is appropriate for your outlet.
- Confirm that the listing is for SC1D1, not a visually similar Vapour model.
- Verify the boiler cap, tanks, pad holder, carpet sledge, parking pad, cup and funnel are present if the seller promises a complete bundle.
- Ask whether the two-year warranty applies in your country and whether the seller is authorized to support discontinued stock.
- Request a return period that covers a leak, failed heating element, missing accessory or incompatible plug.
- Check the cost and delivery time for model-confirmed microfiber pads before buying the machine.
- For a used unit, ask how it was stored, whether the boiler has been overfilled, and whether the cable, plug and cap show heat or impact damage.
Is the SC1D1 worth buying?
It is a reasonable fit when
- You primarily clean sealed hard floors and want a reusable-pad steam mop rather than a vacuum-and-mop combination.
- You value a separate solution tank and are prepared to follow the water-versus-Antibak filling rules precisely.
- You can verify a 220–240 V version, complete accessories and a credible local return or warranty path.
- You understand that carpet use is a refresh function and that the germ claims come from Euroflex.
- You have checked that pads and any required Antibak are obtainable for your exact model.
Choose another route when
- Your floors are unsealed, waxed, damaged, moisture-sensitive or covered by a manufacturer prohibition on steam.
- You need a currently supported appliance with guaranteed parts and easily available consumables.
- You need documented independent performance scores before purchasing.
- Your electrical supply is outside the documented 220–240 V market and the seller cannot provide a compliant local version.
- You want deep carpet extraction, large-area cleaning or a single appliance that also vacuums dry debris.
How to compare it with a current steam cleaner
A direct performance ranking is not supported by the available evidence, so compare practical ownership factors instead of assuming a newer model cleans better.

Bottom line for a purchase decision
The Euroflex Superclean SC1D1 is best viewed as a discontinued, dual-tank steam mop whose value depends on the condition and support of the individual unit you find. Its 0.6 L boiler, washable pads, carpet-refreshing glide and separate Antibak reservoir are useful features for the right sealed-floor home. They do not outweigh a voltage mismatch, missing accessories or an inability to obtain pads.
Buy only after confirming the model label, electrical compatibility, floor suitability and return or warranty coverage. If those checks pass and the price reflects discontinued status, the SC1D1 can be a sensible specialist floor steamer. If you need assured parts, accessible independent test data or broad floor compatibility, a currently supported model is the safer purchase.
