EuroChef ER110 Induction Cooktop Review: Specs, Compatibility and Discontinued-Model Advice

Short answer: The EuroChef ER110 (also listed under COOK-ER110 and COOKER110) is a compact, single-zone portable induction cooktop rated from 300 to 2,000 watts. CHOICE lists it at 1.9 kg, 7 × 31 × 39 cm, with nine power levels and 12 cm of clearance required at the rear and sides. The indexed Revision 5.0 manual (January 2022) specifies 220–230 V / 50 Hz, a ceramic-glass surface and a 10 amp plug.

CHOICE and ProductReview.com.au both mark the model discontinued. Public CHOICE pages do not show the member-only cooking scores, boil time or recommendation, so those results cannot support a performance verdict. The available owner comments describe useful portability and fast heating alongside fan noise, small-pan difficulties and isolated service or durability complaints. Those six reviews are anecdotes, not a reliability study.

What the ER110 is—and what its SKU means

The ER110 is a portable electric induction cooker with one cooking zone. The model appears in listings under the related identifiers COOK-ER110 and COOKER110, so check all three codes when matching a manual, appliance label or second-hand listing. It is not a built-in hob and it does not provide multiple zones; it is intended to sit on a stable, heat-resistant work surface and run from a household outlet.

Induction heats a compatible pan through a magnetic field rather than heating a glowing element first. That can make a small appliance responsive and efficient, but it also means the pan base is part of the system. A vessel that is non-magnetic, too small for the sensor or poorly centered may not start heating even when the cooker has power.

  • Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
  • Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
  • Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
  • Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

The most important current-status fact is availability. CHOICE lists the ER110 as discontinued, and ProductReview.com.au shows the same status. That wording means the model is no longer current in those databases; it does not prove that every remaining unit has disappeared from private sellers or old stock. The evidence available here does not establish current inventory, a replacement model or a source for spare glass.

Before using a unit, read the rating plate and the manual supplied with that particular cooker. A second-hand appliance may have a different revision, a damaged plug or missing instructions; do not assume that an online specification overrides the label on the machine.

Cookware compatibility is the first practical test

The manual requires suitable induction cookware. In practice, the pan needs a magnetic, reasonably flat base and must sit within the sensing area. Cast iron and many stainless-steel pans work; aluminium, copper, glass and non-magnetic stainless steel generally will not unless they have an induction-ready magnetic layer. A magnet that sticks firmly to the outside of the base is a useful preliminary check, but it does not guarantee that a particular shape or diameter will trigger the sensor.

Place the vessel centrally before selecting heat. The ER110 troubleshooting table associates E1 with cookware placement or centering. That code can therefore indicate a pan that is missing, off-center or unsuitable rather than a failed heating circuit.

One owner reported that smaller vessels would not trigger the cooker and described using a metal plate as a workaround. This is an individual report, not manufacturer guidance or a universal solution. A plate can alter heat transfer, create a hot surface and defeat the safety logic designed to detect a pan, so it should not be treated as an approved fix. If your smallest pan is important, test that exact pan on the exact unit before buying or relying on it.

Public user content also includes the phrase “minimum saucepan size is 10cm.” That is a reviewer comment, not a verified ER110 specification. Do not convert it into a guaranteed minimum diameter; the base shape, magnetic area and the individual cooker’s sensor all matter.

Setting it up safely

The indexed manual carries this warning: “READ THIS MANUAL CAREFULLY BEFORE USE – FAILURE TO DO SO MAY RESULT IN INJURY, PROPERTY DAMAGE AND MAY VOID WARRANTY.” Follow that instruction, especially with a used appliance whose history is unknown.

  1. Inspect the cooker. Check the ceramic-glass top for cracks, the cable for cuts, the plug for heat damage and the air openings for dust or obstruction. Do not energize a unit with a cracked top or damaged cord.
  2. Choose the surface. Use a level, dry, heat-resistant bench that can support the cooker and pan. Keep combustible items away from the hot pan and the glass surface.
  3. Leave the specified air gap. CHOICE lists 12 cm of clearance at both the rear and sides. Do not push the cooker against a wall, place it in a tight cabinet or cover the vents while operating.
  4. Use the correct outlet. The manual specifies 220–230 V / 50 Hz and a 10 amp plug. Use a properly wired outlet appropriate to your region; avoid damaged extension leads and overloaded power boards.
  5. Place the pan first. Use an induction-compatible pan with food or liquid as appropriate, centered on the zone. An empty pan can overheat quickly.
  6. Power and select heat. Use the press pads and the nine-level control described in the manual. The exact button sequence can vary by revision, so use the supplied instructions rather than guessing from another cooker.
  7. Stay nearby. Monitor boiling liquids, oil and cookware handles. Induction stops transferring energy when a pan is removed, but the pan and glass remain hot.
  8. Shut down and cool. Turn the cooker off using its controls, disconnect it as directed by the manual and wait for the surface and fan to cool before cleaning or storing it.

Power, heat control and ventilation

The published 300–2,000 W range covers gentle simmering through high-power boiling, but the figures do not tell you how evenly each level behaves. Nine levels are listed; the public material does not provide a laboratory map of temperature, duty cycling or boil time. Treat level numbers as control settings, not as guaranteed temperatures.

At 2,000 W, the cooker draws substantial power for a small appliance. Avoid sharing a marginal circuit with other high-load heaters. If a breaker trips, a plug becomes hot or the cable smells of insulation, stop using the appliance and have the electrical installation and cooker assessed by a qualified professional.

Induction cookers normally use a cooling fan. A ProductReview.com.au owner specifically mentioned fan noise. That is an anecdotal observation, not a measured decibel result, but it is relevant if you plan to use the ER110 in a quiet room. Keep the 12 cm rear and side clearance unobstructed so the fan can move air. The manual’s E0 entry concerns an obstructed or dirty air vent, or a fan problem; unplug the cooker, allow it to cool and inspect only the accessible exterior openings. Do not open a mains-powered cooker unless qualified to do so.

  • Please Note: To reach 10Gbps speed, keep the cable under 3.3 ft. For USB A Male to USB C adapters, try flipping the USB C connector. USB C Male to USB A adapters support bidirectional 10Gbps transfer within 3.3 ft
Code Manual context Safe response
E0 Obstructed or dirty air vent, or fan problem Switch off and unplug; clear external obstructions after cooling. Persistent E0 needs qualified service.
E1 Cookware placement or centering Re-center the pan and confirm that its base is induction-compatible and large enough for the sensor.
E2 Low electrical supply voltage Stop cooking and have the outlet or supply checked if the code persists; do not bypass protection.
E3 High electrical supply voltage Disconnect the cooker and obtain qualified electrical advice before trying again.
E4 Overheated cookware Turn off, remove the heat source safely and let the pan and cooker cool. Investigate an empty pan or blocked ventilation.

These codes are diagnostic clues, not permission to dismantle the appliance. A recurring code, burning smell, unusual arcing, damaged glass or a fan that will not run warrants professional assessment or replacement rather than repeated resets.

What owners report

ProductReview.com.au shows six reviews and an aggregate rating of 4.8 on the accessed page. That is a mutable snapshot of voluntary posts, not a named population statistic, controlled test or failure rate. It should help you identify questions to ask, not establish that every ER110 is dependable.

  • One owner praised the cooker’s portability and heating speed, which fits the appeal of a 1.9 kg single-zone appliance.
  • Another owner mentioned fan noise. Noise will be most noticeable when the cooling fan runs at higher load or after cooking.
  • A reviewer described difficulty with smaller vessels and the metal-plate workaround discussed above. It does not establish an approved minimum pan size.
  • Another report said the labels wore away. Inspect any used unit to ensure the control markings remain legible.
  • A question-and-answer post describes a breakdown after roughly 12 months and dissatisfaction with support. That is one report and cannot be generalized into a durability rate or a warranty conclusion.
  • Public comments also include questions about a replacement glass top and timer operation. No supplier, compatible replacement part or verified timer procedure is established by those questions.

Owner experiences can vary with cookware, supply voltage, cleaning, ventilation and usage. The small number of posts is useful for spotting possible issues but too limited to rank reliability.

What CHOICE testing can—and cannot—tell you here

The public CHOICE listing supplies the dimensions, weight, power range, controls, power levels, ventilation guidance and discontinued status. Its expert rating, cooking-performance scores and exact boil-time results are gated to members on the public page reviewed. Because those values are not visible, it would be misleading to call the ER110 a tested winner, a poor performer or a recommended buy based on CHOICE.

No independent performance figure was identified for temperature accuracy, energy use, noise level, pan-size tolerance or cooking evenness. If those factors matter, test the exact unit with your own pans and outlet, or obtain current model-specific measurements before purchasing an alternative.

Buying a discontinued ER110 second-hand

A discontinued cooker can still be useful when the price reflects its age and the unit passes inspection. It also carries more uncertainty than a current model with available parts and support.

  • Verify identity: photograph the rating plate and confirm ER110, COOK-ER110 or COOKER110 rather than relying on a similar-looking product.
  • Check electrical details: confirm the 220–230 V / 50 Hz marking and intact 10 amp plug match your location.
  • Inspect the glass: reject cracks, chips through the cooking area or signs that the top has lifted.
  • Test several pans: bring a compatible medium pan to heat, then try the smallest pan you intend to use. Watch for E1 or intermittent detection.
  • Listen to the fan: some fan sound is reported by an owner, but grinding, scraping or no airflow is a reason to stop.
  • Check controls and labels: press pads should respond consistently and markings should remain readable.
  • Ask about history: request the manual, purchase date, storage conditions and any prior repairs. Treat a claimed warranty as unverified until the seller provides written terms and an accepting service channel.
  • Price the risk: replacement-glass availability is unconfirmed, and no authorized parts source is established here. Do not buy on the assumption that a top or control panel can be ordered later.

How to compare it with a current portable induction cooker

The ER110’s compact size and low weight are its clearest practical advantages. A current model may offer better parts support, quieter cooling, clearer controls or a wider usable pan range, but those differences must be verified model by model. Compare the following rather than relying on wattage alone:

Comparison point Questions to ask
Power and connection What is the actual watt range, voltage, frequency and plug rating for your region? Can your circuit support the maximum load?
Pan compatibility What magnetic base and minimum usable diameter does the manufacturer specify? Does your smallest pan reliably trigger the sensor?
Ventilation How much rear, side and underside clearance is required, and can your bench provide it?
Size and weight Will the cooker fit your storage space and can you carry it safely? The ER110 is listed at 7 × 31 × 39 cm and 1.9 kg.
Low-heat behavior Are levels continuous, pulsed or temperature-based? Look for model-specific documentation or testing rather than assuming nine levels behave alike.
Noise and cleaning Is fan noise measured or merely reported by owners? Is the top easy to wipe without abrasive damage?
Support and availability Are the model and spare parts current, and who handles repairs? The ER110 is listed as discontinued.

Cleaning, storage and likely limitations

Let the ceramic-glass surface cool before wiping spills with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive powders, metal scouring pads and dragging rough cookware across the top. Keep the air openings free of dust, and store the cooker flat where the glass and controls cannot be struck. The manual for your revision should take precedence for cleaning products and prohibited methods.

The ER110 is best suited to one-pan tasks, temporary kitchens, caravans or a backup cooking position where a single zone is enough. Its 31 × 39 cm footprint still needs a clear, ventilated bench. It is less suitable when you need several pans simultaneously, guaranteed support for very small vessels, independently verified noise figures or assured access to replacement glass.

Verdict

The EuroChef ER110 is a clearly specified but discontinued portable induction cooktop: 300–2,000 W, nine levels, 1.9 kg and compact enough to move easily. If you already own one, use induction-compatible cookware, center the pan, preserve the 12 cm ventilation gaps and follow the model-specific manual. If you are considering a used unit, inspect the glass, plug, fan, labels and pan detection before paying.

There is not enough public evidence to award it a test-based recommendation. CHOICE’s detailed scores are member-only, owner feedback is limited to six voluntary reviews, and replacement-part availability is unconfirmed. Buy only when the condition, price and support risk make sense for your situation—not because an unverified performance or reliability claim suggests certainty.
