At EUC World Amplify 2026, Day Two sessions described practical ways to preserve legacy application delivery, make digital employee experience (DEX) telemetry more useful, time-limit travel access, and run language models on private infrastructure. These were conference case studies and discussions—not universal migration recipes, product comparisons, or independently verified performance results.
StorageReview’s October 2, 2026 event report covers sessions from the September 30 program in Milwaukee. The organizer describes EUC World Amplify as an event for architects, engineers, IT leaders, virtualization administrators, security professionals, solution providers, and other practitioners working with VDI, DaaS, and automation. The technical details below are attributed to the sessions as reported; they should be validated against the relevant workload and current product documentation before being used as implementation guidance.
What did the Parallels case study show about avoiding a forklift migration?
Keep the application environment intact where possible
StorageReview reported that Parallels’ session, “The App That Can’t Die: Serving 2,000+ Concurrent Users on End-of-Life Everything,” described Skyward K-12 software running for more than 2,000 concurrent users across hundreds of school districts in a multi-tenant Parallels RAS environment. Those figures describe the reported deployment, not a general capacity benchmark.
The case involved an unsupported backend that the report said was isolated from outside network exposure. Rather than rebuild the application stack, the team reportedly retasked session hosts to a modern broker by changing the agent service while retaining the existing golden images, application runtimes, and local user configurations. That is a specific continuity approach for the environment described—not evidence that any unsupported application can be moved this way or that a cutover will take a particular amount of time.

What to validate before attempting a similar cutover
The reported approach reduces the scope of change only if the application and its dependencies can continue to operate safely in the retained environment. Before planning a transition, assess the isolation boundary, broker compatibility and failover, what must change in the image or runtime, and how user configuration is preserved. Establish a cutover window and rollback plan around the actual application and host dependencies rather than assuming that changing an agent is sufficient.
The report also described file-transmission and HTML5-redirection bottlenecks, as well as the use of dedicated filesystem drivers. These are useful reminders that session delivery involves more than broker selection: file movement, peripheral or browser-based redirection, and filesystem behavior can affect users independently of whether the application launches.
How can DEX telemetry help without creating alert fatigue?
Look for causes users can feel, not just infrastructure symptoms
A panel moderated by Sean Massey included Vivek KR of Citrix, John Yoakum of Recast Software, Doug Arcidino of Omnissa, and Jack Smith of Liquidware. According to StorageReview, the discussion contrasted familiar infrastructure indicators—such as hypervisor CPU, memory, and ping—with telemetry aimed at explaining user-visible problems. Examples raised in the report included endpoint security-agent resource use, ISP transit issues, and oversized cloud instances.

- 8 Hours battery run time helps you stay unwired and work longer non-stop
The practical distinction is between collecting more measurements and connecting a signal to a plausible cause of poor user experience. Telemetry becomes more useful when it helps an operations team narrow an investigation, rather than adding another stream of alerts without context.
Connect detection to a controlled response
The report says panelists discussed integrating DEX findings with service-management workflows and using automation cautiously. For an operations team, the important design questions are whether signals reflect user impact, whether alerts are precise enough to prompt action, and whether a proposed fix can be verified before or after it is applied.
- Check whether the telemetry covers the endpoint, network path, and hosted workload relevant to the user’s issue.
- Route actionable findings into the existing investigation or service-management process, rather than sending every anomaly to every team.
- Set guardrails for automated detection and remediation, and verify that a change resolved the user-facing problem.
These are themes from event coverage, not measured panel consensus or a validated comparison of DEX products. The report does not establish alert-accuracy rates or quantify how much investigation time any particular system saves.

How did the Entra travel-policy session time-bound access?
Use an approved, expiring entitlement instead of a lingering bypass
StorageReview attributed “Passport to Protection: Entra Conditional Access for Global Travelers” to Daniel Keer of Digitally Accurate; World of EUC also lists that session among the conference highlights. The reported workflow combines self-service travel requests through Entra ID Entitlement Management Access Packages, manager approval, an explicit travel window and expiration, Conditional Access controls, phishing-resistant multifactor authentication (MFA), and Intune device-compliance signals.
- Request: The traveler submits a travel-access request through an Access Package.
- Approve: A manager reviews and approves the request rather than relying on an informal, persistent exception.
- Limit: The entitlement is tied to the travel period and has an expiration.
- Evaluate: Conditional Access applies the reported compensating controls, including MFA and device-compliance signals.
- Test and recover: Validate policy effects before enforcement and preserve emergency break-glass accounts.
Test policy impact before enforcement
The report says the presenter recommended using Conditional Access Report-Only mode and the What If tool before enforcing changes. It also reports advice to block legacy authentication, restrict unmanaged or unknown client platforms, review Device Code Flow, and retain break-glass accounts. These are reported session recommendations, not a complete tenant-specific configuration guide. Microsoft policy behavior and available controls can depend on a tenant’s setup and can change, so check current Microsoft documentation and test against the organization’s own sign-in scenarios before changing enforcement.
StorageReview’s October 2 account also mentioned a May 2027 milestone related to legacy custom controls. That date is a time-sensitive roadmap claim from event coverage, not a verified statement of current Microsoft requirements; confirm the latest Microsoft guidance before planning a migration around it.

What does running LLMs on private infrastructure require?
Start with the workload and available memory
Stephen Wagner and Jaymes Davis discussed local inference using Ollama with Open WebUI for runbooks and technical documentation, according to StorageReview. The report says they suggested llmfit to profile host RAM and video RAM (VRAM) against model parameters before loading a model. This makes sizing a workload-and-host question, not a matter of choosing a model name in isolation.
The event report supplies no specific model, machine, memory requirement, concurrency figure, latency result, benchmark, or hardware recommendation. A candidate setup therefore needs evaluation against the intended documents and tasks, the number of simultaneous users, available RAM and VRAM, and acceptable response times. The session’s examples do not establish that a particular configuration will work for another organization.
Private hosting is not a complete governance plan
Privacy, governance, and cloud-inference costs were discussed as motivations for local inference. Hosting a model privately does not, by itself, establish that prompts and documents are protected, that the deployment meets regulatory obligations, that outputs are accurate, or that operating it costs less. Those outcomes depend on the organization’s configuration, controls, workload, and ongoing operational effort; the report provides no certification or cost comparison.

What did the Leostream session add about brokering mixed environments?
In a separate session, Karen Gondoly discussed Leostream brokering and orchestration across mixed targets, including physical workstations, virtualization platforms, and public-cloud instances. StorageReview described an agent connection using outbound-only connectivity through a reverse SSH tunnel. Those details are the event report’s account, not independent verification of current product architecture; confirm technical requirements with the vendor before designing around them.
The report characterized Leostream Cloud as a preview that had not yet been publicly announced at the time of the session. That is a point-in-time availability description, not a current status statement. Check with Leostream for present availability and deployment details.
What should an EUC team take away from Day Two?
The sessions point to different kinds of operational risk: a legacy application may depend on a fragile stack that cannot be casually replaced; noisy telemetry can consume attention without improving diagnosis; travel exceptions can outlive the trip unless they are approved and expired deliberately; and local inference still needs capacity planning and governance. Treat each session as a pattern to assess against its own constraints—not as a guarantee that a particular architecture, control, or tool will fit every environment.
