Short answer: Eternal Anima is designed so actions Wade takes in the past can change the present, but the complete consequence map has not been published. Psychometry lets him read memories in objects and inherit abilities and classes from past heroes. Future Sight can delay or cancel predicted enemy moves during battles, yet that tactical system does not prove that story decisions can be rewound. Because the game is unreleased, there is no authoritative list of carried-over levels, equipment, quests, relationship flags, timeline states, or a story-choice undo command.
What Eternal Anima’s time travel is supposed to do
Eternal Anima takes place in Urvis Ael, a floating kingdom. Wade travels through the past and present of four lost continents, meeting people connected across generations and uncovering forgotten history. The publisher’s central premise is explicit: actions taken in the past affect the present, and the larger objective is framed as saving the past to free the present.

That establishes a cause-and-effect timeline as a major story feature, not merely a background setting. A decision made in an earlier era may therefore alter what Wade encounters later. However, the public descriptions stop at that high-level promise. They do not provide a branch chart showing every changed quest, death, map, ending, inventory item, or character relationship.

Psychometry links objects, memories and progression
Psychometry is Wade’s ability to decipher memories embedded in objects. Those memories let him inherit “Abilities and Classes” associated with heroes of the past. The official descriptions also say that allies can be empowered with abilities belonging to their ancestors.

This is the clearest confirmed form of progression across eras. A past event is not only historical information: its memories can affect the combat options available to Wade and his party. Steam describes the same system as reading memories in objects, inheriting classes and abilities, and journeying between past and present to uncover lost history.
Future Sight rewrites predicted battle turns
Future Sight is a separate battle system. It reveals enemy actions and expected outcomes before they occur, then allows the player to select commands that alter the sequence. Marvelous describes commands that can delay or cancel enemy moves; Steam says the commands change the flow of battle.
A 16 October 2026 hands-on preview adds practical detail: the interface shows a timeline of upcoming actions, striking a weakness can apply Knock Back, and an enemy becomes “broken” when it is pushed off that timeline. These are turn-level tactical changes inside combat. They should not be treated as evidence that Wade can undo a major narrative choice.

The safe conclusion is that the present can change. The game’s official premise would have little meaning otherwise, and its generational structure deliberately connects ancestors, descendants and later consequences.

What remains undocumented is the exact form of those changes. Current official material does not identify:
- Specific quests that branch or disappear.
- Named characters who can die, survive or change allegiance.
- Different map layouts, towns or encounters created by a past decision.
- Inventory rewards, prices or equipment that change in the present.
- How many endings exist or which choices determine them.
- Whether every alteration is permanent or whether some effects are temporary.
Those details may be revealed before launch or discovered in the finished game, but assigning particular outcomes now would go beyond the published evidence. Readers should understand “the past affects the present” as a confirmed design principle, not as a publicly documented flowchart.
What carries over between eras?
Psychometry confirms that memories can produce abilities and classes inherited from earlier heroes. That is a gameplay connection across time, but it is not the same as a complete save-transfer specification.

The Boost Point rule needs particular care. It is an explicit battle-resource rule: points are not retained from one fight to the next. It does not answer whether story choices, equipment or progression survive travel between eras. Extending that one combat rule to the entire save system would be misleading.

Can you reverse a time-travel decision?
Combat reversals are confirmed
Future Sight lets you inspect projected enemy actions and choose commands that delay or cancel those moves. In practical terms, you can alter an upcoming turn, prevent a predicted attack from happening as shown, or push an enemy away from its planned position on the action timeline. The preview’s Knock Back and “broken” states illustrate how this tactical rewrite works.
Story reversals are not documented
No reviewed official source confirms a rewind command for narrative decisions. There is no published confirmation of a dedicated undo button, branch reload, checkpoint rewind, New Game Plus carry-over, or alternate-ending selector. The game is not yet available, so the absence of a documented feature is not proof that it will never exist; it means players should not assume that it does.
Future Sight therefore answers the question “Can I change what an enemy is about to do?” It does not answer “Can I reverse a choice I made several hours ago?” Those are separate systems with different consequences.
How to approach choices before launch information is available
Until a launch build or developer explanation documents the save rules, treat significant past-changing decisions as potentially consequential. That does not mean every choice will be irreversible; it means the available information does not guarantee a safety net.

- Read the entire decision prompt. Record which era, character or objective the choice concerns before confirming it.
- Keep a manual record. Note the decision and the current chapter or location. This makes later comparison possible if the game reveals a changed present.
- Use separate save slots if the finished game provides them. A second slot is the safest way to preserve an earlier state, but the number and behavior of slots have not been announced.
- Do not confuse battle experimentation with story experimentation. Future Sight is built for trying different commands during a fight; it is not evidence that a narrative branch can be reset.
- Check the final game’s help screens and patch notes. Developers may explain timeline persistence, checkpoint behavior or New Game Plus after the current promotional descriptions were written.
These are precautions rather than confirmed in-game procedures. They avoid assuming a rewind system that may not be present while leaving room for the developer to provide one.
Why the four-continent structure matters
Travel across four lost continents gives the timeline system a broad historical scope. Wade is not simply revisiting one room to solve a local puzzle; he is moving between the past and present of entire regions whose people and events are connected. The ancestor-and-descendant framing also explains why Psychometry matters: memories found in objects can bridge generations and turn historical discoveries into combat options.
The structure suggests that some consequences may be visible through changed people or circumstances in a later era, but no official source has listed a fixed set of transformations. Any guide claiming exact altered towns, guaranteed deaths or specific ending requirements should be treated as unverified until the developer publishes those details or the released game demonstrates them.
Release status and date context
Eternal Anima has not been released. Marvelous lists a 4 March 2027 release for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC through Steam. Steam currently displays a planned 3 March 2027 date and says the game is not yet available.

The one-day difference may reflect storefront or regional scheduling. Check the store page for your territory before pre-ordering or planning a playthrough. A physical PlayStation 5 or Nintendo Switch 2 edition may be marketed closer to release, but no verified price, stock listing or product identifier is established here.
What a complete launch guide should document
Once the game is playable, a reliable choice guide should track more than whether a scene looks different. Each decision should be tested against the following points:
- Immediate present-world change: what location, NPC, enemy, route or resource is different after returning to the present?
- Long-term consequence: does a later quest, character outcome or ending change?
- Progression effect: does the decision unlock, remove or alter an inherited ability or class?
- Reversibility: can the player use in-game time travel, a checkpoint or a save reload to restore the earlier state?
- Persistent data: which levels, equipment, inventory items, relationships and quest flags remain?
These are the questions the public information makes relevant, but it does not yet fill every answer. A responsible guide should distinguish observed behavior in the released game from assumptions based on the premise.

Eternal Anima promises meaningful historical cause and effect: actions in the past are intended to shape the present. Psychometry provides confirmed cross-era inheritance of memories, abilities and classes, while Future Sight gives players a way to rewrite predicted enemy turns during combat. Beyond those systems, the rules are still open. No authoritative source currently confirms which ordinary progress survives a timeline change or whether a story decision can be undone. Until launch documentation says otherwise, make important choices as though they may matter and preserve an earlier save whenever the finished game allows it.
