The safest way to play Eternal Anima is to treat every turn as a timeline puzzle. Read Future Sight before selecting a command, decide whether the predicted enemy action is acceptable, then choose an attack, defense, or delay effect that leaves the final forecast in your favor. Weakness hits build Break pressure and can push an enemy’s action out of the current turn, but enemies gain weakness defence after being hit by their weakness. That makes damage-type rotation and flexible class inheritance more important than repeating one powerful move.
Eternal Anima is currently described as an unreleased single-player RPG with classic turn-based command battles. The broad combat rules are known, but complete class lists, skill lists, numerical stats, controls, and encounter-specific builds have not been published. The advice below therefore focuses on the confirmed decision-making system rather than claiming a best class or a fixed winning rotation.

How Eternal Anima combat works
Combat uses familiar turn-based commands, but the key information is presented before you commit to a move. Future Sight shows when each enemy is expected to act and predicts what that action will do, including its target and expected damage. Your selected commands alter that forecast, so the battle is not simply “pick the largest attack.” It is a visible trade-off between taking a hit, moving before the enemy, delaying the enemy, or cancelling the next action.

That forecast makes initiative part of defense. A command that deals less immediate damage can be superior if it changes an incoming action from unavoidable to survivable, or removes it from the current turn altogether. Read the timeline as the game’s central resource: health, actions and enemy opportunities all appear there before they happen.

The information Future Sight provides
| Forecast element | What it tells you | How to use it |
|---|---|---|
| Enemy action timing | When an enemy is expected to act | Decide whether you must move ahead of it, delay it or accept the hit. |
| Predicted target | Which character the action is expected to affect | Protect the threatened character or alter the order before the forecast resolves. |
| Expected damage | The forecasted severity of the action | Compare the projected hit with the target’s current ability to survive it. |
| Updated outcome | How chosen commands change the predicted sequence | Re-check after selecting commands; the final timeline matters more than the first estimate. |
A reliable routine for every turn
Use the same sequence until reading the timeline becomes automatic. It prevents the most common beginner mistake: selecting a command in isolation and only then noticing that an enemy will act first.
- Read the entire forecast. Identify each imminent enemy action, its target and its expected damage. Look beyond the first icon if several attacks are queued.
- Classify the danger. Decide whether the projected hit is manageable, serious but survivable, or likely to decide the turn. This is a judgment call based on your current health and defensive options, not a permanent rule about a particular move.
- Choose a goal for the turn. Your goal may be damage, Break pressure, protecting a character, setting up a safer next turn, or removing a dangerous action. Naming the goal keeps you from spending commands on damage that does not improve the timeline.
- Select a command and inspect the revised forecast. Future Sight is described as updating as commands are chosen. Do not stop at the command’s tooltip or apparent damage; confirm where the enemy action now sits and who it will hit.
- Change the command if the final sequence is poor. Try defense, a delay effect, a weakness attack, or another available option until the projected result is acceptable. The best move is the one that produces the safest useful timeline, not automatically the one with the highest number.
- Resolve the turn, then reassess. A weakness hit may change the next turn’s priorities because the enemy can gain weakness defence. Treat every resolution as new information rather than repeating the previous selection.
When to attack, defend, delay, or cancel
Attack when the forecast is acceptable
If the projected enemy hit is manageable and no urgent action must be removed, direct damage or a setup command can be reasonable. “Manageable” means the target can withstand the forecast without losing the ability to take the next important action. Do not treat a safe forecast as permission to ignore the timeline; confirm that your attack does not allow a more dangerous enemy action to move ahead.
Defend as active timeline management
Defense is not merely an emergency button. When Future Sight predicts a hit you can survive but do not want to absorb at full cost, defense can make that timeline acceptable while preserving your position for the following turn. It is also useful when a weakness is already defended and a second attempt would produce less value than reducing incoming risk.

Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
Delay an enemy when timing is the problem
A delay command is valuable when the enemy’s action is dangerous now but may be tolerable later. Use the forecast to check whether delaying one enemy causes another to act first; moving a single icon is not automatically an improvement if it exposes a different character.
Cancel a next action when one event dominates the turn
If an enemy’s predicted action is catastrophic or would undo your planned setup, a command that cancels it can be worth more than immediate damage. Compare the cancellation’s result with the updated timeline, including any other enemy actions that remain. The purpose is not to cancel everything; it is to remove the event that makes the current forecast unacceptable.
How weaknesses and Break work
Hitting an enemy weakness delays that enemy’s action along the timeline. Repeated pressure can push the action off the current turn entirely, creating a Break-like swing in tempo. This is both an offensive and defensive tool: you deal damage while reducing the opponent’s opportunity to act.

Use a weakness hit to solve a timing problem
Do not choose a weakness attack solely because it is labeled a weakness. First look at where the enemy will act. If the hit moves that action behind your party, it may let you finish another priority, heal, or prepare safely. If the enemy was already scheduled to act after your party, the same attack may provide less immediate defensive value; compare it with another command that changes the forecast more directly.

The disclosed rule says enough weakness pressure can push an enemy action out of the current turn. The exact number of hits and numerical thresholds have not been published, so do not plan around a fixed count. Watch the timeline after each selected command and continue only while the resulting sequence remains favorable.
Weakness defence changes the plan
After its weakness is hit, an enemy gains weakness defence on the next turn. In practice, the opening cannot be looped indefinitely with the same weakness attack. The first successful exploit changes the conditions for the following turn, so your plan must change with it.
Rotate damage types
When the enemy’s original weakness is defended, look for another effective damage type rather than automatically selecting the same move. The available options depend on the classes and skills you have inherited; the important habit is to treat a defended weakness as a prompt to reassess, not as a reason to force the old sequence.
Defend while the weakness is protected
If no alternate weakness produces a useful forecast, defense may be the correct bridge. A defended weakness can make a low-value attack less attractive than reducing the next incoming hit and waiting for a better timing window.
Change class when the matchup demands it
The class system is described as allowing Wade to inherit classes and skills from memories held in objects and combine them into a personal battle style. Class changes are specifically presented as a response to enemy weaknesses. When weakness defence removes your current advantage, switch toward a class or inherited skill combination that offers a different damage type or better timeline control, provided the change improves the forecast rather than merely changing your menu options.

Class and skill inheritance for beginners
Because the complete class and skill catalog has not been published, a “best class” recommendation would be guesswork. Instead, evaluate an inherited setup by what it does to Future Sight.
- Weakness access: Can the setup reliably hit the weakness you have identified, and does it retain another option after weakness defence activates?
- Action control: Does it delay or cancel an enemy action, or otherwise create a safer order?
- Survivability: Can it reduce the damage of the forecasted hit when an immediate Break is unavailable?
- Adaptability: Can the inherited class and skills change roles when the matchup changes?
Think of class inheritance as a toolkit rather than a permanent identity. A setup that is excellent against one weakness can be poor once that weakness is defended. Keep a damage plan, a timeline-control plan and a survival plan in mind, then choose the combination that answers the current forecast.

The following examples illustrate how to reason with the confirmed system; they do not describe named encounters or guaranteed damage values.

A tolerable hit and an open weakness
Future Sight shows an enemy acting after your party for moderate projected damage, and you have identified a weakness. A weakness command may still be useful if it pushes the enemy even later and creates Break pressure. Re-check the forecast. If the enemy remains safely behind your party, you can take the opportunity to attack or prepare; if another enemy now moves into the danger window, prioritize the revised threat instead.
A dangerous hit that can be displaced
The forecast shows one character receiving a severe attack before that character’s next command. A normal attack may leave the sequence unchanged. Compare defense, a delay effect and a weakness hit. Choose the option that either lowers the projected consequence or moves the attack far enough back to make the final timeline survivable. The correct answer is determined by the updated forecast, not by the command’s base damage.
A weakness that is now defended
You used a weakness hit on the previous turn and the enemy now has weakness defence. Repeating the same move may no longer provide the original Break pressure. Check whether another inherited skill changes the damage type or timing. If not, defend or control the timeline until the enemy’s protection no longer makes the old attack the best use of the turn.

What is confirmed, and what remains unknown
The confirmed picture is a single-player, turn-based command RPG centered on Future Sight; commands update a forecast; weakness hits delay actions and can create a Break; enemies gain weakness defence after a weakness is hit; and Wade can combine classes and skills inherited from memories in objects.
Several details remain unpublished while the game is unreleased:
- Complete class and skill lists.
- Exact damage, Break and weakness-defence formulas.
- Numerical stats, thresholds and action-speed values.
- Official control mappings and menu labels.
- Guaranteed encounter rotations, tier lists and optimal builds.
Those omissions matter because a precise build or button-by-button sequence would imply facts that are not established. Apply the principles here, then verify the final labels, formulas and class interactions when official release information becomes available.

- Who acts next, and who is the predicted target?
- Is the projected damage acceptable without changing the order?
- Can a weakness hit delay or remove that action?
- Has the enemy gained weakness defence from a previous turn?
- Would defense, delay or cancellation produce a safer final forecast?
- Does a class or inherited skill change improve the matchup now?
- After selecting the command, did the timeline actually improve?
Following this checklist turns Future Sight from a display you glance at into the control panel for every decision. You win exchanges by shaping the order of actions, exploiting weaknesses while they are available, and changing your class and skills when the enemy’s defenses change.
