Why the capacity is listed as both 2.8L and 2.9L
The capacity conflict is the most important qualification in this review. Essteele’s live page labels SKU 107210 as 2.8L. The shared 20cm size and SKU are more useful for identification than silently converting one capacity into the other. If a recipe requires a precise working volume, leave headroom for simmering and confirm the seller’s measurement directly.

Induction, gas and electric
Essteele explicitly lists electric, gas and induction compatibility. This is a useful distinction from aluminium pans that lack an induction-ready base. Kitchen Warehouse also describes the listing as induction compatible. Neither public source supplies a maximum wattage, minimum hob-zone size or guidance for unusually powerful induction settings, so use the cookware and appliance manuals for those limits.
On a gas hob, keep flames beneath the base rather than climbing the sidewalls. On induction or electric glass, choose a zone that matches the base and lift the pan instead of sliding it, which reduces the chance of scratching the cooking surface. These are general cookware-care practices, not a claim about a measured performance advantage for this model.
Oven use up to 180°C
The manufacturer’s oven rating is 180°C/350°F, and both CHOICE and Kitchen Warehouse publish 180°C as well. Do not treat that as a broiler or grill rating. The lid, handle and any silicone or plastic components must remain within the stated limit, and an oven may exceed its set temperature during preheating or grill operation. Remove the lid if your recipe requires a higher temperature, but do not exceed the pan’s stated rating.

Aluminium body and nonstick interior
Essteele describes an aluminium body and a nonstick interior. Kitchen Warehouse calls the body cast aluminium and describes the coating as diamond reinforced. The official page also refers to seven-layer construction. Those descriptions explain what the brands say the pan contains; they do not establish a measured heating curve, release performance, coating life or resistance to abrasion.

For day-to-day use, nonstick cookware is normally chosen to reduce sticking and the amount of fat needed for delicate foods. Avoid interpreting the “diamond” wording as a quantified durability rating: no public test result in the cited material converts that marketing description into a lifespan or utensil-scratch score.
Thermotech handle indicator
The official page says the Thermotech handle button turns green when it is time to start cooking. Kitchen Warehouse also names a Thermotech handle. This is a visual heat-readiness aid, not a substitute for monitoring oil, food or pan temperature with a recipe-appropriate method.
Lid, vent and spout details
The tempered-glass lid is listed by Essteele. CHOICE’s public specifications add a glass lid with a lip or spout, while Kitchen Warehouse describes a steam vent and a handle that can act as a spoon rest. These details can help with covered simmering and pouring, but the public information does not quantify how much steam escapes or how accurately the lid seals.
What independent testing can—and cannot—tell you
CHOICE has a public product page for the Essteele Per Salute 20cm/2.9L covered saucepan. Its open specification summary includes a 0.3cm base thickness, 2.9L stated volume, 1.3kg weight, Italian origin and an oven rating of 180°C, along with the glass-lid and lip/spout details.

Price, warranty and availability
When the cited pages were checked on 13 October 2026, Essteele’s official page displayed a sale price of $124.95 against a listed RRP of $209.95. Kitchen Warehouse displayed $99.95 against the same $209.95 RRP. Both are time-sensitive prices, not permanent values; check the live page, stock status, delivery terms and the exact SKU before paying.
Essteele and Kitchen Warehouse state a lifetime warranty. “Lifetime” does not automatically mean every type of damage is covered. Nonstick wear, misuse, commercial use, accidental damage and normal cosmetic changes may be treated differently under the written warranty, so retain your proof of purchase and read the applicable terms.
Per Salute versus the Essteele Per Amore alternative
If you are deciding between two same-brand 20cm covered saucepans, the most meaningful distinction is material and care rather than a proven cooking-performance ranking. Essteele’s Per Amore 20cm/2.8L uses an aluminium core between two stainless-steel layers and a brushed 18/10 stainless-steel interior. Essteele states that the interior is safe for metal utensils, the pan works on induction, it is dishwasher safe, it is made in Italy and it has a lifetime warranty.

That should be resolved at the point of purchase rather than ignored.
