The Espressotoria Capino is a discontinued capsule machine. CHOICE’s listing marks it that way, so it should be treated as a model you might already own or find secondhand, not one you can buy new. It takes only genuine Espressotoria System capsules, not Nespresso-compatible pods, and its specifications and official usage guidance are the most solid information available. Detailed performance scores from CHOICE are members-only, and this review does not report any hands-on testing.
Is the Espressotoria Capino still sold new?
No current offer was established. CHOICE’s product listing includes a listed price of A$99, but it also states that the model is discontinued. That price should be read as a historical listing, not as a current price or evidence of available stock. Whether replacement parts, a replacement water tank, or spare drip components are still sold by Espressotoria was not established either, so an owner should check with the brand directly before assuming repairs are possible.

The 24 cm height and 13 cm width make it a compact countertop unit, but the 39 cm depth means it needs a clear run of counter behind it for the water tank and capsule area. These are the manufacturer’s and CHOICE’s measurements; no independent footprint test was performed.

Which capsules fit
The Capino uses the Espressotoria System capsule format. Espressotoria’s FAQ states that only genuine Espressotoria System capsules work in its system machines, and it warns that this format differs from the Nespresso-compatible capsule format. In practical terms, a Nespresso-compatible pod is not a substitute, and owners should not buy one on the assumption that it will fit.
The FAQ names Woolworths, Coles and independent supermarkets in Australia, and Countdown and Foodstuffs in New Zealand, as places to buy capsules. Those names come from the brand’s own FAQ; current stock at those retailers, and current capsule prices, were not checked for this article.

Recommended Free Tools
If you own one or are considering a secondhand unit
- Confirm the capsule format. Use only Espressotoria System capsules. Do not buy Nespresso-compatible pods for this machine.
- Locate the instruction manual. Espressotoria’s manuals page lists an instruction manual specifically for the Capino Capsule Machine, which covers the cleaning mode and pour programming.
- Ask about parts before buying. Replacement-part availability was not established, so check with the brand before purchase.
- Check the descaling record. The brand recommends descaling every 300 cups, so a used unit with an unknown history needs a full descale before first use.
- Budget for capsules as a recurring cost. Capsule prices were not checked for this article, so compare current prices at the retailers named in the brand’s FAQ before committing.

This review draws on CHOICE’s listing, Espressotoria’s official manual and use guide pages, and the brand’s FAQ. It did not include personal testing, did not verify present-day stock or replacement-part sources, and did not confirm current capsule prices or retailer listings.
