Which capsules fit the Espressotoria Adesso?
The Adesso manual identifies Espressotoria System capsules. The manufacturer says genuine Espressotoria System capsules are required for its system and distinguishes them from Vittoria capsules, which use a separate Nespresso-compatible format. Do not assume a Nespresso-compatible capsule will fit the Adesso merely because both are sold for capsule machines.
Espressotoria’s FAQ says it does not know of a reusable pod that fits and warns that using other capsules voids the warranty. This is manufacturer guidance, not an independently tested compatibility finding. If buying capsules, check that the package explicitly identifies the Espressotoria System format.

Milk drinks require separate equipment
CHOICE lists milk frothing as sold separately and does not list a frothing jug as included. Espressotoria describes a milk frother designed for its system, but it is an optional accessory rather than an Adesso feature. Confirm the accessory’s compatibility and current availability before buying it.

Care and maintenance
Espressotoria’s general system guidance says to flush the machine before first use and after a long period without use, rinse removable parts daily and descale every 300 cups. The FAQ advises against cleaning with solutions. The 300-cup interval is manufacturer guidance for Espressotoria system machines generally, not a confirmed Adesso-specific service interval.

The manufacturer’s currently displayed manuals page lists Piccolo and Capino manuals, not an Adesso manual. For the Adesso’s exact cleaning and descaling procedure, consult the Adesso manual listing rather than assuming a newer model’s instructions apply. Follow the procedure and products specified there.
Who should consider a discontinued Adesso?
- Potentially suitable: Someone who finds a well-described unit and is comfortable buying the specific Espressotoria System capsules it requires.
- Less suitable: Someone who wants broad capsule choice, reusable-pod support, included milk frothing or verified comparative taste and performance scores.
- Before buying: Confirm the exact model, working condition, included parts, warranty terms for that sale, and access to compatible capsules. A discontinued listing does not establish that a particular machine is defective, but it does make current availability and support worth checking.
