What the ETM207W is designed for

The 140-litre refrigerator section handles fresh food, bottles and meal containers, while the 67-litre freezer is useful for routine frozen groceries but gives less room for bulk storage than a full-size appliance. When comparing another compact model, compare usable refrigerator and freezer space separately rather than relying on total litres alone; two refrigerators with similar totals can feel very different if one allocates more volume to the freezer.
How the capacity affects daily use
- Plan frequent grocery trips if you normally store large produce boxes, catering trays or several weeks of frozen food.

- Measure the opening in three places. Record the narrowest height, width and depth, including skirting boards, benchtop overhangs and any wall irregularities.
- Use the larger planning envelope. Compare your measurements with 143 × 65 × 68 cm rather than the cabinet dimensions alone. Treat the CHOICE figures as a planning guide and consult the manual for the required clearances for the specific installation.
- Check the power point. The appliance is specified for 220–240 V at 50 Hz. Make sure the socket remains accessible without crushing or sharply bending the cord behind the cabinet.
- Map the door arc. A 545 mm-wide cabinet still needs room for the door to open far enough to remove shelves and drawers. Check nearby walls, islands and adjacent appliances.
- Choose the hinge side. The door is reversible, so decide whether left- or right-hand opening gives better access before the unit is positioned. Confirm that the seller or installer supplies the reversal hardware and procedure.
- Plan delivery access. Measure entrances, lifts, stair turns and the final path. The manual lists 48 kg, while the retailer lists 53 kg; either figure is heavy enough to require two-person handling or a suitable appliance trolley.
Do not push the cabinet hard against a wall to gain a few extra centimetres. Refrigerators reject heat through their cabinet and need the manufacturer’s specified airflow space. If the niche is tight, an installer should verify the clearances before delivery rather than attempting to modify the cabinet or block ventilation openings.
Features and interior equipment
The retailer’s specification describes a straightforward feature set rather than premium automation. Each item has a clear use, but none removes the need for correct loading and temperature adjustment.

Reversible door
The hinge can be configured for either side, which is valuable in narrow kitchens and rental properties. Ask the seller whether the service is included if you do not want to perform it yourself.

Adjustable shelves let you trade shelf height for taller jugs or bottles. The listing also identifies a half door rack and a sealed door compartment. Arrange heavy containers low and keep the gasket contact area clear so the door closes evenly.
Humidity-control crisper
The humidity-control crisper is intended for produce storage. It can help separate fruit and vegetables from the rest of the cabinet, but it is not a substitute for sensible packing: damp produce, warm food and blocked vents can still create condensation.
Slide chiller compartment
A slide chiller compartment provides a colder, designated area for items that benefit from lower temperatures. The public specifications do not state its measured temperature range, so treat it as a storage zone rather than a guaranteed food-safety temperature without checking the refrigerator with a thermometer.
Twist ice maker

Check the physical energy label on the particular appliance offered, especially if you are buying old remaining stock.
The manual specifies R600a refrigerant, a 220–240 V/50 Hz supply and tropical climate class T with a stated ambient operating temperature of 43°C. Those values indicate the intended electrical system and climate rating; they do not reveal the refrigerator’s actual annual electricity use in your kitchen. Room temperature, thermostat setting, door openings, ventilation and food load all affect consumption.
If running cost matters, record the model’s current energy label and compare it with other compact refrigerators on the same test basis. A lower purchase price can be offset by years of higher electricity use, while an older discontinued unit may have a label that is no longer easy to verify.
What independent testing does—and does not—show
CHOICE identifies 2020 as the ETM207W test year. Its public page does not expose the Expert Rating or the individual results for food freshness, temperature stability and evenness, response to outside temperature, default setting, heat-load processing, running cost, warmest and coldest sections, noise, reliability or owner satisfaction. No accessible measurement establishes how quickly this particular unit pulls down after loading, how even the shelves are, or how much noise it makes in a bedroom or studio. CHOICE marks the ETM207W discontinued. The retailer page contains product information and manuals, but current inventory was not established. A listing can remain indexed after stock has sold out, or a seller may be offering a returned, refurbished or second-hand appliance rather than new stock.
CHOICE shows a $589 price on its review page. Because the model is marked discontinued and the figure is presented in a review-page context, treat it as historical rather than a current offer. Confirm the checkout price, delivery charge, installation fee and removal cost directly with the seller.

- Is the unit new, remaining stock, ex-display, refurbished or used?
- Is the exact model number ETM207W, and is the factory energy label still attached?
- What is the confirmed delivery date and who handles installation or door reversal?
- Does the two-year/24-month parts-and-labour warranty apply to this seller and this unit, or is it a reduced warranty for clearance stock?
- What return rights apply if the cabinet is damaged, the door cannot be reversed, or the appliance does not fit?
- Are shelves, the crisper, door racks and twist ice maker included?
Retailer material states a two-year warranty, but warranty eligibility depends on the seller, purchase channel and condition of the appliance. Keep the invoice, model and serial-number photographs, delivery paperwork and any installation report. Do not assume that a discontinued model has unlimited access to replacement parts or authorised service.

How to compare the ETM207W with another compact refrigerator
