Scout before committing
Most problems become easier when you pause at a safe position and inspect the route instead of moving immediately. Look for guard sight lines, walking loops, hiding places, doors, climbable or passable routes and objects that could support a diversion. Treat diversions as timing tools
A diversion is valuable because it changes a guard’s attention and schedule. It is not automatically a permanent way to clear an area. Before triggering one, identify where the guard will look, how long the opening is likely to last and which character will take advantage of it. If two characters must pass, plan both movements before starting the distraction.

Isometric presentation can make distance deceptive. A guard who appears far away may still have a clear view along an open lane, while a small wall, corner or object can break sight completely. Move from one concealed position to the next rather than crossing a large exposed area. If detection happens at the same point repeatedly, change the angle of approach, not only the speed.

Patrol intersections
Two individually manageable guards can create an impossible crossing when their routes overlap. Watch the intersection until you know whether the overlap is fixed or offset. You may need to wait for both to separate, distract one while the other walks away, or use a different character ability to bypass the junction.
Objects that change behavior
Environmental interactions are often more important than collectible-looking scenery. Check objects near blocked routes, suspiciously isolated spaces and locations that offer a clear view of a guard. If an interaction produces no immediate progress, observe the resulting patrol or access change before dismissing it; the benefit may be a temporary opening rather than a visible unlock.

Video guides can reveal timing and guard movement faster than text, but they may hide the reason a solution works. Text guides are easier to scan and adapt when your patrol cycle differs. For a difficult stealth section, use a video to observe the rhythm and a text guide to confirm the required character or interaction. How to judge a claimed cheat code
- Look for a real entry point. A credible code requires a documented menu, terminal, pause-screen field or other place to enter it. The official listings reviewed for Eriksholm do not identify one.

“I reach the objective, but the next move is impossible.”
You may have used the correct interaction from the wrong position. Return to cover, inspect the route beyond the objective and choose the character whose ability supports the escape as well as the approach. Many stealth puzzles are solved by chaining two safe positions, not by reaching a single marker.

“The distraction works, but I am detected anyway.”
Check for a second guard or an overlapping sight line. A diversion can pull one patrol away while leaving another with a clear view. Wait for the entire intersection to open, or route the other character through a different side of the area.
“I cannot tell which character matters.”
Move each character to a safe observation point and compare the available interactions. Distinct abilities are central to the design, so an apparently decorative route may become usable only when the appropriate character is nearby. Avoid repeatedly forcing the same character through a blocked approach.
“A walkthrough does not match my screen.”
Confirm that the guide covers the same chapter, platform and update. Community pages can be edited or become outdated, and the Steam index counts guides without validating their instructions. Use the guide’s objective as a clue, then verify the actual patrol and environmental cues in your game.
What the linear design means for your approach
In a July 14, 2025 review, PC Gamer characterized encounters as largely linear and said players often need to discover the intended solution. That is a critic’s assessment, not an official rule or a guarantee that every player will experience each scene identically. It does explain why brute-force experimentation can feel unproductive: a puzzle may be asking for a particular combination of character, diversion and timing rather than a broad sandbox solution.
Use that observation as a troubleshooting hypothesis. If several plausible routes fail, stop searching for an undisclosed code and revisit the scene’s strongest clue. Ask what the developers want you to notice, which ability directly answers that clue and when the patrol creates the safest window. Once those three elements align, the solution usually becomes a short, repeatable sequence rather than a random trial.
A spoiler-conscious way to finish the game
- Attempt each encounter using observation and character switching before opening a guide.
- If you fail repeatedly, consult only the relevant objective in a basics or walkthrough guide.
- Watch for the guide’s stated patrol timing and required ability, then reproduce that logic in your own run.
- Keep secrets, collectibles and achievement guides for a later sweep unless an optional item is known to be missable.
- Record the checkpoint or chapter after a successful section so you can return without replaying unnecessary scenes.
