In practical terms, being unable to buy a Gold Coin package does not, according to the platform’s summary, automatically mean that free Sweepstakes Coin participation is unavailable. Confirm the current conditions in the location check and rules. Epic Sweep Help Center: state availability
Your current location matters, including when you travel
Epic Sweep says it checks location when you play or make a purchase. Your saved account address alone does not determine whether you can use the service at that moment. For example, a player whose home is in an unrestricted state may encounter a restriction while physically visiting a state where Sweepstakes Coin gameplay is unavailable.

What Epic Sweep means by Gold Coins and Sweepstakes Coins
Epic Sweep describes Gold Coins as entertainment-play coins with no cash value and no prize redemption. It describes Sweepstakes Coins as promotional entries used for prize-eligible gameplay under applicable rules. The platform says Sweepstakes Coins are not sold directly and may be received through promotions, giveaways, referrals, or its free Alternate Method of Entry. Its Help Center states: “No purchase is required to participate or win.” Epic Sweep: What Is Epic Sweep? A Simple Explanation of Sweepstakes Play

Other eligibility checks and account verification
Epic Sweep describes its general audience as eligible U.S. residents age 21 or older. State location eligibility is an additional check, so meeting the general age and residency criteria does not by itself establish that gameplay is available where you are. - If playing on a console platform (PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch or Mobile) you need to link your Epic Games account to that gaming platform (one time) to redeem your gift card code
