There is no single Epic Seven tier list that applies to every instance. A hero ranked highly for story PvE may not be a top Arena pick, and Champion+ Real-Time Arena (RTA) statistics do not predict performance in Hunts or Abyss. The broadest mode-by-mode editorial snapshot available here is Pocket Gamer’s list, updated September 16, 2026, for game version 1.0.974. Use it as a dated guide, then check the ranking for the specific content you want to clear.
How to use an Epic Seven tier list
Start with the instance, then consider the hero’s job in your team. Pocket Gamer separates its recommendations into World/story PvE, Arena, Boss Hunt, and Abyss rather than treating every hero as equally useful everywhere. Its advice is practical: story teams benefit from a tank, a healer, and area-of-effect damage; Arena teams often need control effects and debuffs; Hunt and Abyss choices depend on the encounter.

Tier labels are editorial judgments, not in-game ratings. Epic7DB says its rankings draw on the opinions of top-ranked players and the author’s experience. Its scale describes relative breadth and strength: SS is the top heroes in a role; S heroes are strong across many content types; A heroes are decent in more than one; B heroes are strong in one; C heroes are decent but limited; and D heroes are usable but usually outclassed. Those definitions help explain a list, but they do not make rankings from different dates or modes interchangeable.
World and story PvE tier list
Pocket Gamer’s September 16, 2026 World PvE snapshot, for version 1.0.974, places the following heroes in its visible SS group: Salome, Perfumer Byblis, Monarch of the Sword Aseria, Hecate, Sealed Eye Surin, Frieren, Wretched Rose, Swift Flagbearer Sigret, Argent Waves Hwayoung, Bystander Hwayoung, Empyrean Ilynav, Prophet of the Stars Sinful Angelica, Abyssal Yufine, Navy Captain Landy, Benimaru, Amid, Death Dealer Ray, Arbiter Vildred, Landy, Vildred, Tamarinne, Blood Blade Karin, Achates, Lena, Challenger Dominiel, Ken, Montmancy, and Genesis Ras. This is an editorial World PvE tier, not a guarantee that every hero is the best choice for every story stage or account.

For a story team, use the list as a starting point and build around coverage: someone who can absorb pressure, someone who can sustain the party, and damage that can handle groups. Stage mechanics and the heroes you have available still matter, so do not treat the SS label as a requirement to clear content.
Arena: use an Arena-specific ranking
Arena PvP rewards a different team plan from story progression. Pocket Gamer’s mode guidance emphasizes control effects and debuffs, so a World PvE placement alone is not enough to judge a hero’s Arena value.

Epic7DB offers a separate PvP snapshot dated March 28, 2026. Its SS group includes Boss Arunka, Empyrean Ilynav, Lady of the Scales, New Moon Luna, Rinak, Ruele of Light, and School Nurse Yulha. Because that list predates Pocket Gamer’s September 2026 World PvE snapshot and is specifically a PvP ranking, use it as its own dated reference rather than merging its placements into a current all-mode order.

For a numerical PvP view, Epic7RTAStats aggregates official RTA matches. Its Fall 2026 Champion+ snapshot, last updated October 7, 2026, shows the following entries. Pick/ban rate measures how often a hero is picked or banned in the bracket; it is not a win rate or a universal power score.

These figures describe high-rank RTA activity and outcomes only. They do not establish how a hero performs in Arena, story PvE, Hunts, Abyss, or at lower RTA ranks. A high pick/ban rate can reflect how often players select or remove a hero; compare it with win rate rather than reading it as a standalone measure of strength.
Boss Hunt and Abyss: match the hero to the encounter
Hunt and Abyss rankings are encounter-dependent. The available mode guidance does not establish one universal roster that is best for every Hunt or Abyss stage, so prioritize the specific instance’s demands over a general tier label. Check the corresponding Hunt or Abyss section in a mode-specific list and account for the roles and mechanics that stage requires.

Dates matter: treat these lists as snapshots
Pocket Gamer’s comprehensive list is dated September 16, 2026, and identifies version 1.0.974, with Renoa as the latest addition. Epic7DB’s PvP list is dated March 28, 2026. Epic7RTAStats’ Champion+ RTA table is later—updated October 7, 2026—but covers a narrower mode and rank bracket. None of these sources establishes a single consensus ranking for every instance.

RTA rankings can shift as heroes are added: Epic7RTAStats’ change log records Renoa and Haru on September 17, Uncharted Pioneer Politis on September 3, and Lisette on August 27, 2026. For decisions about a newly released hero or the latest meta, confirm the list’s update date and game version rather than assuming an older placement still holds.
