Use the EPFO Unified Member Portal for member UAN account tasks, the separate EPFO Member Passbook site to view your passbook, and UMANG for services including passbook viewing, online claims, claim tracking, and UAN activation or allotment. For UAN activation and generation, EPFO’s current member-portal notice directs members to UMANG face authentication and says direct allotment through the portal has been discontinued.
Which EPFO portal should you use?

Use the member portal for account and KYC tasks
The Unified Member Portal, also called Member e-SEWA, is the member-facing route for UAN account services. EPFO’s procedure shows members signing in to the member interface and using the Manage area for KYC and basic-detail modification. [c004]

Use UMANG for UAN activation and generation
EPFO’s current notice on the member portal says UAN activation and generation are now handled through UMANG face authentication, and that direct UAN allotment through the member portal has been discontinued. Follow the live UMANG service flow rather than looking for the discontinued portal allotment option. [c001]

Choose a passbook route—and check the exempted-establishment exception
The EPFO Member Passbook site is a dedicated login separate from the broader member portal; it asks members to sign in with their UAN and password. UMANG also lists passbook viewing. [c002] [c003]
If you cannot see a passbook, your establishment’s status may explain it. EPFO’s Employees’ Information Booklet says a passbook may not be available through the UAN portal for members of exempted establishments; it advises contacting the establishment for a PF statement. [c003]

The Unified Member Portal provides member services, while UMANG’s listed EPFO services include online claim filing and claim tracking. Use the official interface to verify that the relevant service is available for your account when you are ready to act.
