Each is found at a separate location in Embervale. You must rescue a villager first, then use the Summoning Staff to bring that survivor to your base. Once placed, villagers can offer side quests and cosmetic rewards.

Every Enshrouded villager location
The table below lists all 10 named villagers in the current published villager database. “Not stated” means the referenced location result did not provide a region or rescue quest name; it is not a claim that no prerequisite exists in your game.
| Villager | Published location | Region or context | Documented rescue quest |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hannah Reed | Fort Kelvin | Revelwood | “We, The Only Ones” |
| Marianne Reed | Vukah Ceremony Hill | Springlands | “Hannah Reed Needs Help” |
| Ramone Jones | Pikesmead’s Reach | Not stated | Not stated |
| Gabrielle Fairburn | Surat’s Rest | Not stated | Not stated |
| Robert Gibson | Lupa’s Lair | Not stated | Not stated |
| Kaori Conway | East Lapis | Not stated | Not stated |
| Hugo Vanderhall | Sun Temple | Not stated | Not stated |
| Oscar Godwin | Rothstep | Not stated | Not stated |
| Anton Godwin | Gateway Outpost “Drifa” | Albaneve Summits | “Oscar Godwin’s Cousin” |
| Gunther Galeforth | Balefire Garrison “Windward” | Not stated | Not stated |
Use the place name exactly as shown on your map. Several entries are named outposts, temples, lairs or hills rather than generic map regions, so searching for the named landmark is more reliable than searching for a region alone.

How villager recruitment works
Enshrouded treats these characters as survivors who must be rescued in the world before they can live at your base. Finding a landmark is therefore only the first part of the process.
- Travel to the listed landmark. Locate the destination on your Embervale map and reach the area in your current world.
- Complete the rescue objective. If the game gives you a named quest or another rescue requirement, finish that objective before expecting the survivor to become available.
- Return the rescued survivor to your base. The Summoning Staff is the mechanism used to summon a rescued survivor to a player base.
- Place and speak with the villager. After the villager is at your base, talk to them to see any available side quests and cosmetic rewards.
A marker or name on the map does not by itself prove that the NPC has been recruited. If a villager is absent from your base, verify that the rescue objective was completed and that you used the Summoning Staff afterward.

Hannah Reed — Fort Kelvin, Revelwood
Hannah Reed is published at Fort Kelvin in Revelwood. Her documented rescue quest is “We, The Only Ones.” Treat the fort as the destination and the named quest as the prerequisite to check in your journal. Once the rescue is complete, summon Hannah to your base with the Summoning Staff.
Marianne Reed — Vukah Ceremony Hill, Springlands
Marianne Reed is located at Vukah Ceremony Hill in the Springlands. The associated documented quest is “Hannah Reed Needs Help.” The quest name indicates a connection to Hannah’s storyline, so check your active objectives if Marianne does not become available when you reach the hill. Recruitment still requires the post-rescue Summoning Staff step.
Ramone Jones — Pikesmead’s Reach
Ramone Jones is listed at Pikesmead’s Reach. The published location result does not state a region or a quest name for this entry. Use the landmark as your search target, complete whatever rescue objective the current game presents, and then summon Ramone to your base.
Gabrielle Fairburn — Surat’s Rest
Gabrielle Fairburn is listed at Surat’s Rest. No region or rescue quest is stated in the location result used for this guide. If the game shows an objective, follow that objective rather than assuming that reaching the named rest automatically completes the rescue.
Robert Gibson — Lupa’s Lair
Robert Gibson’s published destination is Lupa’s Lair. The available listing does not provide a region or named rescue quest. Record the landmark on your map, complete the in-game rescue requirement, and use the Summoning Staff after the rescue.
Kaori Conway — East Lapis
Kaori Conway is listed at East Lapis. The fetched location entry does not state a region or quest prerequisite. Search for East Lapis by its proper name and confirm the rescue state in your journal or objective display before leaving.

Hugo Vanderhall — Sun Temple
Hugo Vanderhall is published at the Sun Temple. No region or rescue quest name is supplied for this entry. The temple is the destination; the exact objective shown by your game is the authority for the rescue step.
Oscar Godwin — Rothstep
Oscar Godwin is listed at Rothstep. The published result does not state a region or quest for Oscar. After completing the rescue, summon him to your base. Oscar’s name also appears in the documented quest for Anton Godwin, so keeping track of whether Oscar has already been rescued can help you interpret that later objective.
Anton Godwin — Gateway Outpost “Drifa,” Albaneve Summits
Anton Godwin is located at Gateway Outpost “Drifa” in the Albaneve Summits. His documented rescue quest is “Oscar Godwin’s Cousin.” If that objective is not available, check the current quest chain and whether the game expects Oscar’s related progress first. Complete the rescue, then use the Summoning Staff.
Gunther Galeforth — Balefire Garrison “Windward”
Gunther Galeforth is listed at Balefire Garrison “Windward.” The available result does not state a region or named rescue quest. Search for the garrison landmark, follow the rescue objective displayed in your version, and summon Gunther after the rescue is recorded.
What villagers do at your base
Villagers are decorative survivors rather than a separate class of combat companions. Their practical base function is to provide conversation, side-quest opportunities and cosmetic rewards after they have been rescued and summoned. If you are collecting them for completion or decoration, leave enough usable space at your base for the summoned survivor and check each villager’s dialogue after placement.
The rescue and placement states are separate. A successful rescue in the world does not place the NPC automatically, and placing a villager does not replace the rescue objective. The Summoning Staff is the step that connects the two.
A reliable collection workflow
1. Make a checklist before leaving
Copy the 10 names and landmarks into a personal checklist. Mark the three entries with published quest names—Hannah, Marianne and Anton—so you know which quest labels to look for. For the other seven, record the landmark and the objective your game actually displays rather than filling in an unverified quest name.
2. Confirm the landmark, not just the region
Only Hannah, Marianne and Anton have a region explicitly stated in the published table. The remaining entries are supported by named landmarks without a stated region. If your map search has several similarly named areas, use the full landmark name, including quotation marks in “Drifa” and “Windward,” to avoid traveling to the wrong location.
3. Finish the rescue before moving on
Do not treat an unexplained NPC marker, a cleared enemy area or a discovered landmark as proof of recruitment. Look for the game’s completion state for the rescue objective. If no quest title is documented for that villager, rely on the objective and completion feedback shown in your current version.
4. Summon immediately when practical
After a rescue, return to a player base and use the Summoning Staff. Doing this promptly prevents confusion about whether a villager is still waiting at the destination or has already been added to your settlement.
5. Check dialogue and rewards
Speak with the villager at the base after placement. Side quests and cosmetic rewards are offered through these interactions, so a collection run is not finished merely because the NPC appears in your settlement.

- The rescue is incomplete: return to the landmark and check the active objective. Reaching the location alone may not satisfy the rescue.
- The survivor was rescued but not summoned: use the Summoning Staff at your base; rescue and base placement are separate steps.
- A quest chain is blocking progress: review named objectives such as “We, The Only Ones,” “Hannah Reed Needs Help” or “Oscar Godwin’s Cousin,” and check whether the game expects related progress first.
- The location has changed after a patch: compare your game version with the dates below. NPC data can change between updates.
- The landmark search is ambiguous: search by the complete proper name rather than by an unstated region. For entries without a published region, the landmark is the most precise locator currently available.
Version, date and roster limits
The detailed villager database used for the location table identifies version 0.9.1.2 and an update dated June 29, 2026. A separate database records the game’s 1.0 release on October 15, 2026 and says its survivor data is read from game files. Those records do not establish that every location or quest prerequisite is unchanged between versions.
For an accurate checklist, write the game version beside each completion entry and recheck locations after major patches. If your map or quest journal disagrees with this table, follow the current in-game objective and treat the discrepancy as a version difference rather than forcing an old route.

There is also a scope distinction in published counts. The named villager table contains 10 villagers, while Enshrouded.tools indexes 27 survivors. The larger survivor number should not be read as 27 named decorative villagers; it is a broader survivor index.
Quick completion checklist
- Fort Kelvin — Hannah Reed — rescue quest: “We, The Only Ones.”
