ElevenLabs plans to invest “hundreds of millions of dollars” in India, co-founder and CEO Mati Staniszewski told Reuters on October 6, 2026. The company did not disclose an exact amount or spending timetable. It said the planned investment would support local teams, model development and work on Indian languages.
What ElevenLabs has announced
Reuters reporting carried by Moneycontrol says Staniszewski described the planned India investment as “hundreds of millions of dollars.” That is a broad estimate, not a published exact commitment. The company also said it was open to acquisitions in India, but did not identify any potential targets. The report names Indian customers Physicswallah, Havells and Razorpay as examples; it does not disclose their contract terms or value.

The announcement does not assign amounts or deadlines to these areas, so it is not possible to determine how quickly the company expects to spend the money or which work will receive the largest share.
How the plan builds on ElevenLabs’ earlier India activity
In November 2024, ElevenLabs said India was among its fastest-growing consumer and business markets and described appointing local leadership and building a team. The company also listed technology localization, broader Indic-language coverage and growth of its Voice Library as priorities. The 2026 investment plan adds a large, but undisclosed, spending intention to those previously stated activities. The two announcements do not establish how much was spent between them or how much of the new plan is allocated to continuing earlier work.
Indian-language coverage: current service and future target
Business Standard reported on October 6, 2026 that ElevenLabs offered speech-to-text and text-to-speech in 14 Indian languages. It also reported the company’s target of covering all 22 official Indian languages within the following year. At the company’s India Summit in Bengaluru, Staniszewski said: “People should be able to interact with AI as naturally as they interact with each other, through conversation and through voice, in their language and dialect.” Business Standard attributed the statement to ElevenLabs’ co-founder and CEO.

Reuters also reported operating figures attributed to India country leader Karthik Rajaram: 250 enterprises, 100 million annual AI-agent conversations and 14 Indian languages. These are company-reported figures carried by Reuters, not independently audited figures established in the report. ElevenLabs separately announced a $300 million employee tender offer that valued the company at $22 billion, according to its September 30, 2026 announcement, updated October 5.
