Wix is the simpler all-in-one purchase; Elementor is a visual editing layer for WordPress. That distinction matters more than any headline price. A Wix plan normally includes hosting and the site-building environment. An Elementor plan covers the editor and related features, while you still need to price WordPress hosting, a domain, and any other required services unless you choose a bundled setup.
There is no evidence for a universal price winner. Wix displays location-dependent annual prices, while Elementor’s current official pricing page lists its tiers but did not expose price amounts in the available page text. Compare the complete setup for the same site, period, and feature requirements before choosing.

What is the difference between Elementor and Wix?
Wix is a hosted website platform. You choose a plan, and the plan supplies the hosting, editor, storage allowance, collaboration seats, and—on qualifying tiers—business, payment, and ecommerce capabilities. You do not assemble a separate WordPress hosting stack for a standard Wix site.
Elementor is a visual editor used with WordPress. Its subscription determines which Elementor tools and how many sites you can use, but an independently hosted WordPress site still has separate costs and setup decisions. Those can include web hosting, a domain, paid WordPress plugins, payment services, backups, security, and maintenance. Elementor also offers bundled hosting configurations, but that should be priced as one chosen setup rather than added on top of separate hosting.
#1 Best Overall
In practical terms, Wix sells more of the infrastructure as one managed service. Elementor gives a WordPress site a visual design and content layer, with more responsibility left to the site owner. Neither packaging model is automatically better; the right choice depends on how much setup control you want and which features your site actually needs.
Wix pricing in 2026: what the displayed plans include
Wix’s official plans page shows a free tier and four paid tiers. The following figures are the page’s displayed annual-subscription reference prices observed for this comparison, not a worldwide quote. Wix says prices and currencies vary by location, annual subscriptions are paid in full when purchased, and taxes depend on the billing address. Check the checkout page for your country, renewal terms, and final total.
| Wix tier | Displayed monthly equivalent | Storage | Collaborators | Business capability listed |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | Free | Not stated in the cited plan details | Not stated in the cited plan details | Hosting and editor; the paid-tier business bundle is not listed |
| Light | $17.77 per month | 2 GB | 2 | Hosting; a free domain for one year may apply on select plans |
| Core | $29.77 per month | 50 GB | 5 | Basic ecommerce and payment acceptance |
| Business | $39.77 per month | 100 GB | 10 | Standard ecommerce and payment acceptance |
| Business Elite | $159.77 per month | Unlimited | 100 | Advanced ecommerce and payment acceptance |
The displayed amounts represent an annual billing schedule: the monthly figure is a reference rate, while the subscription is paid in full at purchase. The 14-day money-back guarantee advertised on the plans page is another term to confirm at checkout, because regional eligibility and current conditions can change.

1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteWhat the Wix free tier is—and is not
The free tier gives you Wix hosting and the editor, which makes it useful for experimenting or publishing a noncommercial starter site. The plan presentation does not list the paid tiers’ storage, collaborator, payment, or ecommerce bundle. If you need a custom domain, payment collection, or store functionality, treat the free tier as a trial of the platform rather than a like-for-like substitute for a paid business plan.
When the Wix tiers become materially different
Light is aimed at a small site with modest storage and a two-person editing team. Core is the first displayed tier that lists basic ecommerce and payment acceptance, while Business adds more storage, collaborators, and standard ecommerce capability. Business Elite is aimed at organizations that need unlimited storage, 100 collaborators, and advanced ecommerce features. The labels describe the vendor’s packaging; verify the exact tools available in your region before committing.

Elementor pricing in 2026: what is included and what is separate
Elementor’s current official pricing page lists annual-billing tiers but the accessible page text did not show current price amounts. Do not reuse a price from an older comparison or assume a historical promotion is still available. Obtain the live quote for your location and billing term.
| Elementor tier | Sites | Published feature position | Important exclusions or additions |
|---|---|---|---|
| Essential | 1 | Basic visual editing with Theme Builder | Excludes Popup Builder, custom code/CSS, and ecommerce features |
| Advanced Solo | 1 | Professional or ecommerce site | Adds Popup Builder, custom code/CSS, ecommerce features, marketing integrations, and dynamic-content capabilities; includes WooCommerce Builder plus PayPal and Stripe integrations |
| Advanced | 3 | Multi-site professional or ecommerce use | Includes ecommerce features and supports three sites |
| Expert | 25 | Higher-volume or client-site use | Includes ecommerce features and supports 25 sites |
Those are Elementor subscription features, not a complete WordPress operating budget. For an independently hosted installation, add the WordPress host, domain registration, and any paid plugins or services your design, forms, analytics, security, backup, or store requires. Advanced Solo is the relevant starting tier when one professional or ecommerce site needs the listed commerce and customization tools; Essential is only suitable when its exclusions do not block the project.

Does Elementor include hosting?
An Elementor editor subscription should not be treated as hosting by default. In a conventional WordPress setup, hosting is selected separately. If you choose a bundled Elementor hosting offer, evaluate that bundle as the complete environment and do not also add a separate host unless you intentionally want both. The invoice, renewal terms, storage, backups, and migration rules for the bundle can differ from an editor-only license.
How to calculate the real cost of each option
Use the same requirements and the same time period. Comparing a Wix annual plan with an Elementor license alone produces a misleading result because one includes hosting and the other may not.
- Define the site. Write down whether it is a portfolio, brochure site, membership project, blog, or online store; how many sites you will operate; how many people need access; and how much storage, customization, and commerce functionality you require.
- Select the minimum qualifying tier. On Wix, match storage, collaborators, payments, and ecommerce level. On Elementor, match site count and required tools such as popups, custom CSS, dynamic content, WooCommerce Builder, and payment integrations.
- Price Wix at local checkout. Record the currency, annual amount paid upfront, taxes, introductory terms, renewal rate, domain offer, and any regional restrictions. The displayed $17.77, $29.77, $39.77, and $159.77 monthly equivalents are not guaranteed prices for every country.
- Build the WordPress total. Add the live Elementor quote to the chosen hosting plan, domain, and only the paid plugins or services that the site actually needs. Include payment-processor charges separately when comparing a store; an editor’s inclusion of PayPal or Stripe integrations does not establish the processor’s transaction fees.
- Compare equivalent periods. Use one year against one year, or a multi-year total against a multi-year total. Include renewal pricing, not only a first-term promotion, and compare the same number of sites and the same business functions.
- Document assumptions. Keep a short worksheet showing which features are included, which are optional, and which responsibilities remain yours. This prevents an apparently cheaper editor license from hiding hosting or maintenance costs.
A simple worksheet
| Cost item | Wix | Elementor with independently hosted WordPress |
|---|---|---|
| Builder/editor | Included in the selected Wix plan | Elementor tier quote |
| Hosting | Included in paid plans; free tier includes hosting and editor | Selected WordPress host, unless using a bundled Elementor hosting plan |
| Domain | Free for one year on select plans, then renewal terms apply | Separate domain registration or host bundle, depending on the setup |
| Commerce tools | Plan level determines listed ecommerce and payment capabilities | Required Elementor tier plus WooCommerce and any other needed services |
| Taxes and currency | Determined by location and billing address | Depends on the vendors and jurisdiction involved |
| Maintenance responsibility | More infrastructure is managed within Wix | You or your WordPress provider manage hosting and the broader plugin environment |
Who should choose Wix?
Choose Wix when you want the shortest path from account creation to a hosted site and prefer one provider to package the core infrastructure. It is a strong fit for a small business, freelancer, club, or creator who values a free starting tier, does not want to select a WordPress host, and needs plan-level tools for payments, scheduling, or ecommerce.
Rank #3
- HTML CSS Design and Build Web Sites
- Comes with secure packaging
- It can be a gift option
- Managed setup: Hosting and the editor are sold together, reducing the number of vendors and technical decisions.
- Clear feature ladder: Storage, collaborators, and the point at which ecommerce and payment acceptance appear are shown on the plan page.
- Low-friction trial: The free tier lets you explore the editor before purchasing, although it does not replace a paid business plan.
- Team access: Collaborator limits rise from two on Light to 100 on Business Elite, which can matter more than raw storage for an organization.
Wix is less suitable if your project depends on a WordPress-specific plugin ecosystem, requires hosting-level control, or needs a feature that is not available in the selected Wix tier. Check the exact regional plan contents rather than assuming that a similarly named business feature works the same way as a WordPress plugin.
Who should choose Elementor with WordPress?
Choose Elementor when WordPress is already your preferred platform and you want visual editing without giving up the broader WordPress environment. You must be comfortable selecting hosting and handling, delegating, or paying for WordPress maintenance.
- Existing WordPress sites: Elementor can add visual design and Theme Builder capabilities without moving the site to a different hosted platform.
- Control over the stack: You choose the host and can assemble the plugins and services that match the project.
- Advanced customization: Advanced Solo and higher tiers add custom code/CSS, popups, dynamic content, and ecommerce features that Essential excludes.
- Multiple sites: Advanced supports three sites and Expert supports 25, which can make a multi-site license more appropriate than buying separate single-site plans.
Elementor is less suitable when you want hosting, updates, backups, and the builder in one simple bill or when you do not want to troubleshoot compatibility among WordPress, themes, plugins, and the host. The flexibility is useful only if someone accepts the operational responsibility that comes with it.
Elementor vs Wix for an online store
Both can support ecommerce, but the comparison must be made at the level of the actual store requirements. Wix lists basic ecommerce and payment acceptance on Core, standard ecommerce and payment acceptance on Business, and advanced ecommerce and payment acceptance on Business Elite. Elementor Essential excludes ecommerce; Advanced Solo and the higher tiers include ecommerce features, with Advanced Solo specifically listing WooCommerce Builder and PayPal and Stripe integrations.
That does not establish that one platform has every store function you need. Before choosing, list catalog size, product options, taxes, shipping rules, subscriptions, inventory, staff roles, analytics, payment gateways, fulfillment integrations, and legal or regional requirements. Then verify each item in the current platform documentation and price the associated services. A store can require more than the builder’s headline ecommerce label.

Feature and responsibility comparison
| Decision axis | Wix | Elementor with WordPress |
|---|---|---|
| Hosting | Included in paid plans; free tier also lists hosting | Separate in a conventional setup, or included only when a bundled hosting configuration is selected |
| Initial setup | Choose a Wix plan and configure the site in its managed environment | Choose WordPress hosting, install/configure WordPress and Elementor, then manage the surrounding stack |
| Storage and collaborators | Published by tier: 2 GB and 2 collaborators on Light, up to unlimited storage and 100 collaborators on Business Elite | Not established as a universal Elementor tier specification; depends on the host and WordPress setup |
| Custom code and CSS | Verify the specific Wix feature and plan required | Excluded from Essential; included in Advanced Solo and higher tiers |
| Popup and dynamic content tools | Verify in the selected Wix plan and product documentation | Popup Builder and dynamic-content capabilities are added with Advanced Solo and above |
| Commerce | Begins at the displayed Core tier as basic ecommerce and payment acceptance | Excluded from Essential; included in Advanced Solo and above, with WooCommerce Builder and PayPal/Stripe integrations listed for Advanced Solo |
| Number of sites | Plan limits are presented through the Wix account and collaboration model rather than the Elementor license tiers | Essential and Advanced Solo: one site; Advanced: three; Expert: 25 |
| Operational responsibility | More infrastructure is managed by the platform | Greater responsibility for hosting, updates, plugin compatibility, backups, and security unless those services are delegated |
Common mistakes and how to avoid them
Comparing an editor license with a hosted plan
An Elementor license by itself is not the same product as a Wix plan that includes hosting. Put hosting, the domain, and necessary WordPress services in the Elementor column before judging value.
Treating a monthly display as a monthly payment
Wix’s displayed annual rates are paid in full when purchased. Multiply the displayed monthly equivalent by 12 only as a way to understand the reference rate; use the actual checkout total for your decision.
Using an old Elementor price
Elementor’s current page shows the tier structure but not accessible price amounts in the available material. Get a current quote instead of carrying forward a number from an older article.
Ignoring renewal and taxes
Record the renewal rate and applicable taxes for your billing address. Introductory pricing, domain promotions, and local currency conversion can change the first-year and ongoing totals.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Choosing a tier by its name
“Business,” “Advanced,” or “Ecommerce” are labels, not a guarantee that two platforms expose the same functions. Match the required feature list, site count, storage, collaborator access, and payment workflow.
Best Value
Buying overlapping infrastructure
If you select bundled Elementor hosting, do not also budget a separate host unless you intentionally want a second service. Conversely, do not assume an editor-only Elementor subscription supplies hosting.
A practical decision path
- Pick Wix first if your priority is a managed, hosted package and you can meet your requirements within its displayed plan ladder.
- Pick WordPress plus Elementor if you already use WordPress, need its ecosystem, or value control over hosting and the surrounding stack enough to manage that complexity.
- For one basic site, compare Wix Light against Elementor Essential plus hosting and a domain, but only after confirming that neither plan omits a required feature.
- For one professional or ecommerce site, compare Wix Core or Business with Elementor Advanced Solo plus the complete WordPress operating cost.
- For several client sites, compare Wix’s collaboration and account structure with Elementor Advanced or Expert, then include the hosting model for every WordPress site.
- For a store, map the checkout, catalog, payment, shipping, tax, and fulfillment requirements before selecting a tier.
What the available evidence does not establish
No independent named statistic, benchmark, or hands-on usability test establishes that one platform is faster, more popular, or universally easier. Numerical market, performance, and preference claims in a vendor comparison article should not be treated as independently verified here. The useful, supportable distinction is the packaging: Wix combines hosting and builder plans, while Elementor tiers provide WordPress editing features whose total cost depends on the rest of the setup.
Wix describes its offer with the sentence, “Create your site for free and choose a plan when you’re ready.” That is a vendor description of the free-to-paid path, not an independent assessment of value or suitability.

Bottom-line guidance
Use Wix when you want a managed website service with hosting, a visible plan ladder, and business features packaged into one account. Use Elementor when you want WordPress plus visual editing and are willing to price and manage hosting and the rest of the WordPress stack. In 2026, the honest cost comparison is a worksheet, not a single winner: Wix’s displayed prices are location-dependent and paid annually upfront, while Elementor’s current tier page requires a live quote and a defined hosting choice.
