The Electrolux EQE5657BA is a large, 562L four-door refrigerator with a plumbed water dispenser, internal automatic ice maker and convertible chilled drawer. Its size and water connection are key installation considerations. Electrolux lists a four-star energy rating, while CHOICE identifies a 2024 test but does not show its expert score or detailed results publicly—so the available evidence does not support a verdict on measured cooling performance, noise or reliability.
Will the EQE5657BA fit your kitchen?
Electrolux lists overall dimensions of 896 mm wide × 755 mm deep × 1,795 mm high. The cabinet itself is 890 × 643 × 1,776 mm; the larger overall dimensions account for parts such as the doors and handles. Electrolux specifies 1,112 mm depth with a door open 90 degrees and 5 mm of air space above the appliance. Its product page says it can fit a standard 1,800 mm-high space, but that does not replace checking the installation requirements for your particular cavity.

Measure the refrigerator opening, the space needed to open its doors, and the entire route from delivery access to the kitchen. Check doorways, hallways, corners and any stairs against the product dimensions and installation sheet. Allow for the listed clearance above and confirm side and rear clearances and any ventilation requirements in the installation instructions. A cabinet-only measurement is not enough to establish that the refrigerator can be delivered or installed successfully.

Water connection is required
The EQE5657BA requires a plumbed water supply. Its dispenser and automatic ice maker are not non-plumbed features: confirm that a suitable connection is available where the refrigerator will sit, and include plumbing and installation arrangements in your planning.

How much storage does it have?
Electrolux specifies 562L total capacity: 405L for the food compartment and 157L for the freezer, using the standards basis printed in its product specification. CHOICE lists a slightly different breakdown—409L fridge and 153L freezer—while also identifying the model as a 562L refrigerator. The compartment figures should not be merged: listings can differ because of volume conventions or how capacity is reported.
The four-door layout separates refrigerator and freezer storage. Whether the usable arrangement suits your household depends on the kinds and sizes of food you store, so check the interior layout and shelf and drawer configuration in person or in the current product materials rather than relying on total litres alone.
What features does Electrolux describe?
Convertible drawer and food storage
Electrolux describes the TasteSealPlus drawer as having -2°C, 0°C and 3°C settings, within a listed -2°C to 3°C range. It also describes TasteLockAuto crispers with automatic humidity control and EvenTemp air distribution. These are manufacturer-described functions; the publicly accessible independent test information does not establish how well they preserve freshness or maintain uniform temperatures in use.

What do its energy figures mean for running costs?
Electrolux lists a four-star energy rating. CHOICE reports claimed energy use of 406 kWh per year for the model on its page, which identifies a 2024 test year. That annual figure is a claim, not a promise of a particular household’s consumption; actual use and cost depend on conditions and your electricity tariff.
Electrolux says the refrigerator could save up to A$225 over ten years compared with a three-star-rated model. Its estimate uses an average NSW electricity price of 24.8 cents per kWh. Treat this as an indicative manufacturer comparison, not a guaranteed saving or a typical result for every household.
What do independent tests and owner reviews establish?
CHOICE identifies the EQE5657BA as a French-door, extra-large model tested in 2024. Its accessible listing shows four stars, claimed energy use of 406 kWh per year, a two-year warranty, Thailand as country of origin and a listed price of A$3,499. That price was shown on the page accessed on 7 October 2026; CHOICE said retailer prices or links were unavailable, so it is not a guaranteed current retail quote.

Retailer and customer-review pages provide anecdotes, not controlled tests or representative reliability statistics. Andoo displayed an 84-review snapshot with selected comments praising capacity and features, alongside a comment about operating noises. ProductReview.com.au showed three reviews in its search-result snapshot; one described a breakdown and repair delay, and an Electrolux representative relayed a technician’s statement about a fault bulletin. Those individual accounts do not establish a widespread defect, recall or failure rate.

Electrolux and CHOICE list a two-year domestic warranty. Warranty terms can change, so check the written warranty supplied with the appliance and confirm its current coverage before purchase.
Electrolux’s online spare-parts store lists evaporator part 140191096019 as compatible with the EQE5657BA. The listing establishes that a compatible part is offered; it is not evidence that the component commonly fails or ordinarily needs replacement.
Quick Recap
What to check before buying
- Measure the cavity, door-opening space and delivery route against the overall dimensions, not just the cabinet dimensions.
- Read the installation sheet for clearances and confirm a plumbed water supply can be provided.
- Check whether the 405L/157L Electrolux compartment split suits your storage needs, bearing in mind CHOICE reports a different fridge/freezer breakdown.
- Use the four-star label and 406 kWh/year claimed figure as comparison points, then estimate cost using your own electricity tariff rather than relying on the manufacturer’s NSW-based savings estimate.
- Look for independently published cooling, noise and reliability results if those are deciding factors; the public CHOICE listing does not expose its detailed findings.
- Confirm the live purchase price, delivery and installation costs, and current written warranty terms with the seller.
