The Electrolux EHI955BE is a 90cm, five-zone built-in induction cooktop with SenseFry, a central MaxiZone, Bridge, PowerBoost and Hob2Hood. Its listed dimensions and electrical requirements make it a substantial renovation decision: the cooktop measures 910 × 520 × 51 mm, needs a listed 880 × 490 mm cut-out, and is specified for a 7.4 kW hardwired connection. Electrolux publishes the feature claims and specifications, but public information does not establish how well it cooks compared with alternatives. CHOICE’s detailed test rating is member-only.
Is the Electrolux EHI955BE any good?

That is a specification-based assessment, not a hands-on verdict: Electrolux’s feature descriptions do not demonstrate independent cooking performance, and CHOICE does not show its detailed Expert Rating publicly.

Will your pans work with it?
Induction requires cookware with a magnetic base, according to Appliances Online’s listing. A simple preliminary check is whether a magnet sticks firmly to the base. Also check that the base size suits the zone you intend to use: magnetic compatibility alone does not confirm that a pan is the right size for the MaxiZone or another cooking area. For precise zone and cookware dimensions, consult the current product manual. Appliances Online; Electrolux Australia.

What should Australian buyers check before purchase?
- Measure the bench and compare it with both the listed 910 × 520 mm product dimensions and 880 × 490 mm cut-out; use the current manual for installation details.
- Confirm the electrical plan for a 7.4 kW hardwired appliance with a qualified electrician.
- Check that your cookware has magnetic bases and suitable base sizes for the zones you expect to use.
- Confirm the warranty that applies to your purchase date and location in the current Australian documentation. The available pages are inconsistent: an Australian product page lists three years, an older Australian fact sheet says two years, and the New Zealand page gives three years for purchases after 1 March 2026. Those statements do not settle the applicable Australian terms for every purchase.
