What are the best progression builds for Van Basten, Gullit, and Rijkaard in eFootball?

Konami supports both automatic development and manual allocation of progression points. Automatic development maximizes displayed Overall Rating; manual development lets you customize the player’s attributes. Those goals are not necessarily identical: a role-focused build may favor the performance you need over the highest Overall Rating. Use the in-game development screen to assess the trade-off. Evaluate each card by its intended role
- Van Basten as a target striker: check whether the card’s registered and trained positions support the role, then weigh finishing and offensive awareness against the other attributes that matter to your formation.
- Gullit as a supporting forward or linking player: assess ball control, passing, physical contact and stamina for the role you plan to give him. Do not assume a position or playing style based on his real-life career.
- Rijkaard as a central or defensive midfielder: check the card’s positions and style, then consider defensive engagement, tackling and passing in relation to the responsibilities you want him to perform.

Check the game version and formation
Before settling on an allocation, inspect the player in the current game version and the formation and Team Playstyle where you will use him. The v6.0.0 notice lists Overload as a new Team Playstyle and Fluid Formation as a Game Plan option, alongside the Game Plan-stat visibility in Player Progression. These changes make it especially important to evaluate the card in the tactical setup you actually use rather than rely on an older build recommendation.

Do not assign a skill recommendation until you have checked the individual card’s existing skills and the current Skill Training options in-game. Konami’s general overview says Skill Training Programs can add up to five additional skills, but it does not name skills available for these three cards or establish what each card already has. Choose additions to address a role need or a genuine gap in the card’s current skill set. For example, first determine the striker, linking or midfield job you want the player to perform; then compare the confirmed available skills with that job. This avoids using a training slot on something the card already has or on an ability that does not support your intended role.
Is the pack worth signing?
A value judgment requires the live signing method, price or currency, list expiration, regional availability and the actual card details. Those terms and individual stats are not established by the accessible text of Konami’s 1 October 2026 notice, so a confident value-for-coins verdict is not possible from that notice alone. - Confirm the list’s signing method, required currency or price, expiration and availability for your region.
- Open Player Progression and compare automatic development with a manual allocation suited to your planned role and Game Plan.
- Check Skill Training for the current pool of available additions, and compare it with the skills already on the card before using a training program.
- Record the game version, platform and date when assessing the cards so that later changes are not mistaken for current details.
On mobile, Konami says a Bluetooth-enabled controller can be used during matches, but not for menu selection. That distinction matters if you expect to navigate card screens or progression menus with a controller. Konami’s overview describes this mobile controller limitation.
