Eelgrass Strand is an underwater crafting material in Grounded 2. A community crafting reference associates it with Eelgrass in Koi Pond, Pond Depths, and Pond Lab, and lists it in recipes for underwater equipment. Treat those areas as leads rather than guaranteed spawn points: check the current in-game entry and the recipe for the item you want to make before diving.
Where to look for Eelgrass Strand
The Grounded 2 Crafting Calculator lists Eelgrass as the source of Eelgrass Strand and associates the material with three underwater areas:

- Pond Lab
This community reference does not establish exact coordinates, a guaranteed route, or whether these are the only places to find it. Use the locations as search leads, then confirm the current resource description in your game.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesCheck the recipe before you dive
- Open the recipe for the underwater item you plan to craft.
- Check how many Eelgrass Strands it requires and note any other materials you still need.
- Read the current in-game description for Eelgrass and confirm that your available tool can harvest it before setting out.
- After collecting material, check your inventory and recipe progress before continuing farther underwater.
The available references do not verify a required Omni-Tool tier, harvesting yield, or a step-by-step route. Do not assume a particular tool upgrade or amount per harvest without checking the current game.

How underwater gear progression fits in
Obsidian’s Into the Abyss update announcement, published August 11, 2026, describes expanded underwater exploration and a Diving Suit progression path. Optical Disks unlock new suit recipes, with upgrades intended to support longer expeditions and access to deeper pond areas. The Grounded 2 development team describes the Diving Suit as introducing “a progression path built around underwater exploration.”
That context can help you plan an underwater crafting goal, but the update announcement does not specify Eelgrass Strand coordinates, harvest requirements, or quantities. Let the recipe and current in-game resource information guide those details.

Grounded 2 is in Early Access/Game Preview and continues to receive updates. Obsidian’s Patch 0.5.1 notes, published September 11, 2026, include fixes touching the Abyss, map alignment, and Omni-Tool. Because mechanics can change during development, verify item and tool behavior in your current game version rather than relying on an assumed route or harvest rule.
