EE will charge £5 a month on a rolling contract for iPhone Handoff, unless it is included with the Full Works Plus plan. Handoff is marked “coming soon”; EE says iPhone Duo pre-orders open on 16 October 2026 and the handset launches on 23 October.
How much does iPhone Handoff cost on EE?
EE’s 15 October 2026 announcement gives customers two pricing routes:

The announcement does not publish a complete price table for Full Works Plus, so the total monthly cost of that plan must be checked with EE before ordering. It also does not state a specific day when the Handoff service will activate; EE only describes it as “coming soon.”

Handoff is designed for people who want to carry two iPhone models but retain one mobile number. EE says calls, messages and notifications move with the customer when they switch between the two phones. In a statement released with the announcement, Luciano Oliveira, Managing Director Products, Consumer, BT, said: “iPhone Handoff allows customers to easily switch back and forth between two iPhone models with the same mobile number.”

That makes Handoff different from simply owning two phones with separate SIMs or numbers. The feature is intended to keep communication tied to the user while the active handset changes.
Requirements before you can use Handoff
EE specifies three conditions for the two-iPhone setup:

- Both iPhones must be compatible with Handoff.
- Both devices must run iOS 27 or later.
- Both iPhones must be signed in to the same Apple Account.
These are service requirements, not optional recommendations. A phone on an earlier iOS release, or one connected to a different Apple Account, would not meet the conditions EE lists. EE has not published a complete compatibility list in the announcement, so customers should confirm that both exact models qualify before committing to a handset or plan.

EE says pre-orders for iPhone Duo open on 16 October 2026 in the UK. The announcement does not provide a pre-order cut-off time, storage configuration list or complete financing table.

The iPhone Duo launch date at EE is 23 October 2026. Handoff itself is not given a matching launch-day guarantee: EE labels the feature “coming soon” without naming an exact release date.
How upgrades fit into the offer
EE highlights two existing upgrade routes alongside the new feature. Eligible customers on Flex Pay may be able to use Early Phone Swap, while EE Trade In provides another route for exchanging an existing handset. Eligibility, valuation and any remaining finance obligations depend on the customer’s account and device, and the announcement does not state their commercial terms.

For a customer considering two new iPhones, the practical calculation is therefore broader than the £5 Handoff fee: check the handset repayments, any required plan, trade-in value and whether Early Phone Swap eligibility applies.
EE network context
EE says its 5G+ service can deliver speeds up to 45% faster than standard 5G, according to the 2026 announcement. EE also says its 4G, 5G and 5G+ services cover more than 90% of the UK. Those figures describe EE’s network claims, not a guaranteed speed or coverage result at every address; local conditions, device support and congestion can affect the experience.
