Ecovacs Winbot W3 Omni Review: Is Its Auto-Wash Station Worth the Price?

The Ecovacs Winbot W3 Omni’s main selling point is its integrated station for washing the robot’s wiping pad. That can reduce pad-cleaning interruptions, but it does not make window cleaning hands-off: you still transfer the pad plate, supervise the robot and move it between panes. Whether the premium makes sense depends on how many windows you clean and how much you value that specific convenience.

What the W3 Omni adds

The W3 Omni is a robotic window cleaner paired with a station that washes its wiping pad. Ecovacs calls the process Vortex Wash. On its U.S. product page, the company says the station uses 16 spray nozzles rated at 20 kPa, four rotating scrub discs running at 200 rpm and a scraper to remove dirty water while leaving moisture in the pad. Ecovacs says a wash takes about one minute, that wastewater is routed to a tank, and that an optional station self-cleaning cycle is available. These are manufacturer specifications and claims, not independently verified cleaning results.

The station addresses a practical nuisance: a dirty pad can interrupt a cleaning session. But it is a pad-maintenance feature, not proof that the W3 cleans glass better than another model. No controlled W3-versus-W2 cleaning comparison is established by the available evidence.

Does the pad-washing station make cleaning easier?

It can make repeated pad cleaning less of a chore, especially if you are tackling many panes. The trade-off is that the pad still has to be handled. In a CES 2026 preview, TechRadar’s Ruth Hamilton noted that users remove the pad plate and place it in the dock; the robot also still needs supervision and repositioning from pane to pane. Her article is an early hands-on preview, not a full review or long-term use report.

#1 Best Overall
Tosima X1 Window Cleaning Robot – Dual-Nozzle Ultrasonic Water Atomization, 85 ml Visible Water Tank, Automatic Window Cleaner for Large & Small Windows
  • Effective Window Cleaning Robot with Dual Nozzles & Ultrasonic Water Atomization The X1 window robot delivers streak-free cleaning thanks to intelligent ultrasonic water atomization. Two separate spray nozzles release water only in the direction of travel – maximizing cleaning performance and preventing smears. Ideal as an electric window cleaner for daily use.
  • 85 ml Water Tank with Viewing Window – Always Know the Water Level at a Glance The generous 85 ml tank features a handy viewing window, so you can see at a glance how much water is left. No annoying refills mid-job – perfect for a window-cleaning robot that works hassle-free.
  • Powerful Suction & Backup Battery for Maximum Safety With maximum suction power, this window cleaning robot grips securely to glass. The built-in battery keeps the unit attached to the window for about 25 minutes during a power outage – a critical safety feature for any robotic window cleaner.
  • Automatic Cleaning & Flexible Control for Large and Small Windows The automatic window cleaner independently cleans in an S-shaped path from top to bottom. Whether you need a window cleaning robot for large windows or for smaller glass surfaces (from 30×30 cm), the remote control lets you manually adjust the direction at any time – it also works for overhead cleaning on sunroom windows.
  • Easy Handling, Safety Tether & Durable Accessories The window wiping robot comes with a safety tether that you attach to a fixed object. Designed for household use in temperatures from 0 °C to 40 °C (32 °F – 104 °F). This window cleaner impresses with simple setup, water-resistant materials, and high-quality cleaning cloths.
  • Potential benefit: the station automates the pad-washing cycle rather than requiring you to wash the pad manually between uses.
  • Remaining work: transfer the pad plate, keep an eye on the cleaning process and move the robot to each pane.
  • Space cost: the station takes up room. Consider where it will live and whether that footprint is worthwhile for your window-cleaning routine.

For a few panes cleaned occasionally, the dock may add more bulk and setup than value. For numerous panes, the wash cycle may be more useful—but the plate transfer and pane-to-pane handling remain part of the job.

What the robot claims to do

Ecovacs lists WIN-SLAM 5.0 navigation, multi-sensor obstacle detection, TruEdge edge cleaning, a multi-nozzle spray system, app control and eight selectable modes on its U.S. product page. The modes listed are Edge, Fast, Heavy-Duty, Spot, Deep, Thorough, Zone and remote control. The company also claims obstacle avoidance with 1 mm precision and a maximum speed of 16 cm/s. Treat these as manufacturer specifications and marketing claims, not independently measured outcomes.

Ecovacs says the W3 Omni can run plugged in or on battery and claims up to 130 minutes of cleaning per charge. “Up to” is a claimed maximum, not a verified runtime for a particular window, mode or cleaning setup. The company also promotes a combined power-and-safety cable and anti-drop protection. Follow the product manual for setup and safe operation; those features do not remove the need to use the robot as directed.

W3 Omni price and value

Price figures depend on when and where you check. Ecovacs’ U.S. product page displayed $578 when accessed on October 4, 2026. Its March 5, 2026 U.S. launch announcement listed $699.99 and said the product would be available through ECOVACS.com and Amazon. Those dated figures show that prices can vary over time or by offer; they do not establish a current Amazon price, stock status or discount.

The station is the reason to consider paying more for the W3 Omni, but price alone does not establish that it is a better cleaner. If comparing it with the W2, weigh the value of automated pad washing against the dock’s footprint and the handling and supervision that remain. The available evidence does not establish a cleaning-quality or reliability winner between the models.

Cleaning supplies and support

Ecovacs’ U.S. support listings include the W3 Omni instruction manual and quick-start guide, along with help topics covering pad assembly installation and removal, station use, charging, cleaning modes, low suction, slippage, spray issues and wastewater. Check the current manual for the exact operating and maintenance instructions for your unit.

Ecovacs lists a wiping pad compatible with the W3 Omni and WINBOT cleaning solution compatible with all WINBOT models. These listings establish compatibility, not that branded solution is mandatory. Check current availability and compatibility before buying replacement supplies.

What remains unverified

The cited product information and preview do not establish long-term reliability, failure rates, independently measured glass-cleaning performance, results on different glass types, current Amazon pricing or customer-review volume. They also do not show whether the W3 Omni cleans better than the W2 under controlled conditions. Those are open questions, not reasons to assume either model performs better.

Verdict: who should consider the W3 Omni?

Consider the W3 Omni if you expect to clean many panes and the station’s pad-washing cycle is worth its added space and the remaining plate-transfer, supervision and repositioning work. If your cleaning needs are occasional or you mainly want a robot that handles an entire job autonomously, the station’s headline feature does not remove enough manual involvement to settle the decision. Compare current prices and read the manual before buying.
