Short answer: Ecosa TrueFirm is a 25 cm Australian mattress designed to be used on either of two sides: one labelled Firm and the other Extra Firm. Ecosa lists pocket springs, natural Dunlop latex on both sides, polyurethane foam and a polyester/Tencel cover. The company also lists a 15-year limited warranty and recommends protecting the mattress from moisture. Those are product specifications and manufacturer claims, not independent findings. No usable hands-on test, owner survey or published score has been published, so comfort, pressure relief, motion isolation, cooling, edge support and long-term durability remain unverified.
If you specifically want an extra-firm feel and are comfortable checking the current trial, return and warranty conditions yourself, TrueFirm is worth investigating. If you need a confidence-backed recommendation for a body type or sleeping position, the available evidence is not sufficient to make one.

What the Ecosa TrueFirm is
Ecosa Australia presents TrueFirm as a dual-sided spring mattress. You change its advertised feel by flipping the whole mattress: one orientation is called Firm and the other Extra Firm. The labels come from Ecosa; they are not a universally calibrated firmness scale, and the product page does not provide an industry-standard numerical rating.
The official listing describes the mattress as 25 cm high and identifies Australian sizes from Single through Super King. Its construction description combines heavy-duty pocket springs, natural Dunlop latex on both sides, polyurethane foam and a polyester/Tencel cover. Ecosa says the springs are intended to provide targeted support and reduce disturbance between partners. Those statements describe the intended design and marketing claims, not results independently measured on a test bed.

How the two firmness orientations work
Flipping rather than adjusting a mechanism
TrueFirm does not appear to use a dial, split base or removable insert to change its feel. The advertised change is mechanical: turn the mattress over so the opposite side faces upward. Before ordering, confirm that your bed base and room layout leave enough clearance to rotate a 25 cm mattress safely; the product page does not publish a required base type or a recommended flipping schedule.
Firm versus Extra Firm is a choice, not a guarantee
A two-sided design gives you two manufacturer-defined options, which can be useful if your preference changes. It does not establish how either side will feel to a particular person. Body mass, sleeping position, shoulder and hip shape, foundation, bedding and personal preference all affect perceived firmness. Because no independent comfort testing has been published, this review cannot say which side will suit side, back or stomach sleepers.
Questions to ask before purchase
- Which face should be uppermost when the mattress is first delivered?
- Does Ecosa recommend a particular base, slat spacing or centre support?
- Is there a weight limit for the mattress or its two-person use?
- How should one person safely flip a 25 cm mattress?
- Does using a protector, topper or overlay alter trial or warranty eligibility?
These details are not stated on Ecosa’s product page, so obtain the current answers from Ecosa rather than assuming that a generic bed-base rule applies.

Construction: what is listed and what it does not prove
| Listed element | What Ecosa says or lists | What cannot be concluded from that listing |
|---|---|---|
| Pocket springs | Described as heavy-duty and intended to provide targeted support with reduced partner disturbance. | There is no independent measurement of motion transfer, load distribution, sagging or noise. |
| Natural Dunlop latex | Listed on both sides of the mattress. | The listing does not establish latex thickness, density, firmness contribution, allergy experience or service life. |
| Polyurethane foam | Included among the mattress materials. | No layer thickness, density, certification or heat-retention test is supplied by Ecosa. |
| Polyester/Tencel cover | Identified as the cover fabric. | The listing does not establish washability, removable-cover construction, abrasion resistance or moisture performance. |
| Overall height | 25 cm. | Height alone does not predict comfort, support, edge stability or compatibility with a fitted sheet. |
Material names are useful for understanding the design, but they should not be treated as a performance score. For example, pocket springs may reduce movement in one construction yet transmit more movement in another, depending on coil design and the surrounding foam and latex. The available evidence does not include the specifications needed to calculate that difference.
Sizes and Australian prices
The Australian product page listed sizes from Single through Super King. It showed A$830 for Single and A$1,170 for Queen; the other prices varied by size. Prices, stock, delivery charges, promotional discounts and membership offers can change, so use the live listing immediately before payment.
| Australian size | Price shown in the available listing | What to verify now |

Trial, returns and warranty: verify the legal terms
The advertised 100 Night Trial
The product page uses the wording “100 Night Trial” and asks customers how the risk-free trial works. That wording alone does not establish the conditions. Before buying, open the current trial policy and check when the trial starts, whether a minimum adjustment period applies, how a return is requested, whether collection is available in your postcode, and whether fees or hygiene exclusions apply. Save a copy of the terms shown on the purchase date.

15-year limited warranty
Ecosa lists a 15-year limited warranty for TrueFirm. “Limited” matters: the duration is not the same as a promise that every defect, comfort complaint or normal change will be covered. Read the current warranty document for covered defects, sagging thresholds, foundation requirements, owner obligations, exclusions, proof-of-purchase rules, transport responsibilities and whether remedies change over time. Ecosa’s product information does not provide those clauses.
Keep your purchase record
- Save the order confirmation showing the exact size, price and delivery address.
- Download or screenshot the trial, returns and warranty pages in force on that date.
- Record the mattress serial or product identifier if one is supplied.
- Keep photographs and written descriptions if a defect appears, and contact Ecosa through the current support route before arranging disposal or repair.
Care requirements and moisture protection
Ecosa’s instructions are unusually important because they restrict wet cleaning. The product page says not to wash or dry-clean the mattress, not to wash or wet its fillings, and to use a mattress protector or overlay. Follow those directions rather than treating the cover like ordinary washable bedding.
- Use a protector or overlay as Ecosa recommends; a specific protector has not been tested for fit with TrueFirm.
- Keep liquids away from the mattress and deal with spills using the current manufacturer guidance rather than soaking the materials.
- Do not place the mattress in a washing machine, send it for dry cleaning or wet the fillings.
- Check the base and surrounding area for moisture before installation and after any spill.
Ecosa’s product page does not say whether the cover is removable or machine-washable, so do not infer that from the polyester/Tencel fabric description.

No hands-on test or owner survey has been published for this article. There is consequently no defensible independent conclusion about spinal alignment, pressure relief, sleeping temperature, edge support, motion isolation, noise, odour, break-in time or durability. Statements about those characteristics should be read as unverified until a named source publishes reproducible results.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How to judge TrueFirm for your sleeping position
Side sleepers
Side sleepers often need enough surface compliance for the shoulder and hip while retaining alignment. TrueFirm may or may not provide that balance; the two firmness labels and material list cannot predict it. If you sleep on your side, use the trial only after confirming its return conditions and pay attention to shoulder pressure, hip pressure and whether your waist is supported.
Back sleepers
Back comfort depends on how the mattress supports the pelvis and preserves a neutral posture. The pocket-spring and latex construction may be intended to provide support, but no independent alignment measurement is available. Test both orientations if the trial rules permit it.
Stomach sleepers
A firmer surface can appeal to people who dislike their midsection sinking, but personal fit still depends on body shape and weight. The evidence does not establish that either TrueFirm side prevents excessive sink for every stomach sleeper.

Couples and combination sleepers
Ecosa says its pocket springs are intended to reduce partner disturbance. That is a design claim, not a measured motion-transfer result. Couples should also check the trial’s rules for a shared return and decide whether both people can safely flip a 25 cm mattress.
Decision framework: who should consider it?
| Your priority | How TrueFirm fits the evidence | Decision implication |
|---|---|---|
| Two firmness choices in one mattress | Advertised Firm and Extra Firm orientations, changed by flipping. | Potentially relevant if you value reversibility and can handle the mattress. |
| Very firm feel | Extra Firm is the manufacturer’s label; no standardized rating or independent feel test is supplied. | Do not assume the label matches another brand’s “firm.” |
| Natural latex content | Natural Dunlop latex is listed on both sides. | Check the full material and certification details if allergies or sourcing matter. |
| Proven pressure relief or alignment | No usable independent results were published. | Do not buy on a guaranteed comfort expectation. |
| Long-term durability evidence | A 15-year limited warranty is listed, but durability testing and full exclusions are not supplied. | Read the warranty document and treat the term as coverage duration, not a lifespan promise. |
| Easy cleaning | Ecosa says not to wash or dry-clean the mattress or wet its fillings. | Budget for a suitable protector and follow the care restrictions. |
Checklist before placing an order
- Measure the room, doorway, stairwell and bed base, then compare them with the chosen Australian size and the 25 cm mattress height.
- Confirm the live price, stock status, delivery window, delivery fee and whether old-mattress removal is offered.
- Read the current 100 Night Trial, return and refund conditions, including collection and hygiene requirements.
- Read the complete 15-year limited warranty, especially base requirements, sagging thresholds and transport obligations.
- Ask Ecosa about slat spacing, centre support, weight limits and safe flipping procedure if the product page does not answer them.
- Buy a protector or overlay that fits the selected size without interfering with the trial rules; no specific protector has been independently tested with TrueFirm.
- Keep all order documents and the policy versions that applied on the purchase date.
Bottom-line assessment
Ecosa TrueFirm’s clearest proposition is straightforward: one 25 cm mattress, two advertised firmness orientations, pocket springs, latex on both sides and a listed 15-year limited warranty. That combination may appeal to shoppers who specifically want a firm-to-extra-firm choice and are willing to verify the practical terms.
The important limitation is equally clear. The available evidence does not establish how comfortable TrueFirm is for any body type, whether it isolates movement well, how cool it sleeps, how strong its edges are or how it holds up over years. Treat Ecosa’s performance language as a description of intended design, not proof. Make the purchase only after checking the live Australian price and policies, and use the trial conditions—not assumptions—to manage the uncertainty.
