EBANX and NetEase Games Club announced a partnership on September 28, 2026, to add local payment options to the game top-up service in Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Chile and Peru. Cards will remain available alongside local methods. The release names Pix and Mercado Pago in Brazil, SPEI in Mexico, PagoEfectivo in Peru and Mercado Pago wallets across the region—but does not specify a distinct local method for Argentina or Chile or confirm that every named method works in every market.
What the partnership changes
NetEase Games Club is NetEase’s official top-up destination for its game titles. Players select a supported game, enter player or account details, choose a recharge amount or currency package, then pay and receive the purchased items after processing. The service is for digital top-ups, not physical goods. NetEase Games Club

The September 28, 2026 announcement describes EBANX as the payments partner for an initial five-country rollout. The checkout is to offer cards alongside local payment methods. The announcement does not establish that the rollout has already increased NetEase revenue, nor does it provide a country-by-country availability matrix for every payment method. EBANX announcement
Which countries and payment methods are named?
| Market or coverage | Payment method named in the announcement | What it means for players |
|---|---|---|
| Brazil | Pix and Mercado Pago | Local options are named in addition to cards. |
| Mexico | SPEI | A local bank-transfer option is named alongside cards. |
| Peru | PagoEfectivo | A local payment option is named alongside cards. |
| Across the region | Mercado Pago wallets | The release describes wallet availability regionally, but does not list every country where the wallet will be enabled. |
| Argentina and Chile | No distinct local method named | Both countries are included in the announced rollout, but the release does not identify a specific local rail for either. |
These are the methods explicitly named by EBANX; they should not be read as a complete checkout menu for each country. EBANX’s general documentation explains that its payment-method portfolio varies by country and operating model, but does not confirm NetEase-specific coverage beyond the announcement. Can players pay without a credit card?
The local methods could give some players an alternative to credit cards, but the announcement does not promise that every player can use every method or explain the exact checkout steps for each one. In general, the named rails are not interchangeable: Pix and SPEI are transfer systems, Mercado Pago is a wallet, and PagoEfectivo is a cash-based payment option. Availability depends on the checkout country and what NetEase enables there.
EBANX’s release says one in four adults in Latin America has a credit card, while more than half of people aged 15 or older have made a digital payment; it attributes both regional figures to World Bank data without specifying the data year. For Brazil, it cites about 170 million Pix users—equivalent to 96% of the adult population—and around 60 million people without a credit card, attributing the Pix figures to Brazil’s Central Bank without a year. For Mexico, the release says 33% of people have access to a credit card and more than half of adults use SPEI; for Peru, it reports that 37% of adults have a credit card and PagoEfectivo reaches 64% of adults. The release does not name a separate source for the Mexico and Peru figures. EBANX announcement and attributed access figures

Why the gaming market is drawing attention
EBANX reports that PCMI data analyzed by the company projects game revenue of USD 8.4 billion in 2026 across the five partnership markets, including USD 3.8 billion in Brazil. These are forecasts, not realized revenue. The release also attributes 2025 growth of 6.4% for Latin America’s gaming market, versus 4.2% in North America and 3.6% in Europe, to Newzoo. What EBANX’s revenue-uplift figures do—and do not—show
EBANX says merchants using Pix saw revenue uplift of up to 37% within six months of integration; merchants using SPEI, up to 46% within three months; and merchants using PagoEfectivo, up to 19% within one month. These are maximum results reported by EBANX among its merchants, with different measurement windows. The release does not describe them as controlled causal estimates, typical outcomes or results from NetEase Games Club. They should not be treated as a prediction of what this partnership will deliver. EBANX announcement
