Choose EasyWorship if your church mainly needs to prepare and run songs, Scripture, announcements, and media with a worship-focused workflow and campus licensing. Choose ProPresenter if your production depends on independent screen layouts, broadcast routing, Planning Center Services integration, or deeper automation. Both now support Mac and Windows; the deciding factor is the service you need to run, not an outdated Mac-versus-PC distinction.

The main difference: worship workflow or production control?
EasyWorship centers on preparing a church service
EasyWorship organizes the work around schedules, songs, Scriptures, announcements, themes, and media. Its feature set includes SongSelect, Bible lookup, slide editing, remote operation, MIDI, and streaming-related integrations. That focus can suit a church whose main task is getting the Sunday order ready and giving volunteers a clear way to run it. It is not limited to simple projection: EasyWorship also documents NDI, alternate output, and other production connections. See the vendor’s feature overview.
ProPresenter extends into live production
ProPresenter is built around playlists, layered slides, multiple screens, broadcast outputs, stage displays, and control integrations. It supports live editing, themes, timelines, macros, and timecode among its broader production functions. Those capabilities matter when the presentation computer is one part of a coordinated show or broadcast; they may add unnecessary setup and training when a church only needs lyrics and sermon slides. See the vendor’s pages on media and slide editing and automation.
#1 Best Overall
Pricing and licensing: compare the plan, not just the headline
EasyWorship Basic starts at $17.50 per month or $210 billed yearly, and Premium starts at $27.50 per month or $330 billed yearly. Both published plans list Windows and Mac compatibility, regular updates, unlimited support, and a campus license. Premium adds the media library and Online Media Designer. The actual price depends on the church’s average weekly attendance, so select the appropriate tier on the official pricing page rather than treating the starting figure as a quote.
ProPresenter Standard is listed at $29 per month or $289 per year per seat. Its Worship Campus plan is listed at $59 per month or $649 per year for 20 seats. A single Standard seat at the listed annual rate is $79 more per year than EasyWorship Basic’s published annual starting price, but that is not an apples-to-apples campus comparison: EasyWorship’s price is attendance-tiered and includes a campus license, while Standard is per seat. ProPresenter’s campus option can be attractive if the organization needs many seats. Model how many computers and locations need access, then verify whether each license covers that use.
Both products use subscriptions. ProPresenter says active subscriptions include feature releases, stability improvements, operating-system support, and support access; account management lets users add or remove seats and activate or deactivate devices. EasyWorship says subscriptions auto-renew, can be canceled, and remain active through the current billing period. Ask both vendors what happens at renewal or expiration and how activation works for your intended setup.
EasyWorship advertises a 30-day full-feature trial without a credit card; ProPresenter advertises 14 days. Use the trial to run a real rehearsal rather than judging only the interface. Details are on the EasyWorship download page and ProPresenter download page.
Lyrics, SongSelect, Scripture, and media
Songs and copyright reporting
Both vendors document SongSelect integration. EasyWorship says it provides access to more than 500,000 licensed worship songs, with lyric formatting and copyright reporting. ProPresenter supports lyric importing and CCLI reporting. Those are vendor-described capabilities, not a replacement for checking that the church’s own CCLI and SongSelect accounts, reporting practices, and song arrangements work as expected. Test the songs you actually use, including non-English lyrics and custom arrangements.
Bible translations
EasyWorship advertises more than 90 translations across 32 languages; ProPresenter advertises more than 125, with some translations sold separately. These counts are not directly comparable because the products may count bundled, optional, licensed, or separately purchased texts differently. Confirm that your church’s preferred translation is available under the plan you intend to buy, and test its search and display workflow.
Slide design and media libraries
EasyWorship includes slide editing, themes, an Online Media Designer, and—in Premium—a media library integrated into its Resource Area. Its pricing page currently advertises 48,500+ backgrounds, countdowns, and related assets, while other current EasyWorship pages show different figures. Treat the library as a large included collection, but confirm the current contents and access terms rather than relying on one headline count.
ProPresenter supports layered compositions with text, shapes, video, and media inputs; themes; playlists and arrangements; and live edits that can be made without interrupting displayed output. Its subscription includes 1,000 ProContent assets, with a larger collection available through ProContent. If your church already has an organized media library, compare the included assets against what you will actually use before paying for a media tier or add-on.

How many independent outputs do you need?
For a main projection screen, confidence monitor, and a straightforward stream feed, either product may work if the computer and connected hardware support the setup. EasyWorship documents a main presentation output, alternate output and foldback on recommended hardware, plus NDI input and output. ProPresenter advertises up to eight unique outputs, different layouts per screen, and “Looks” that control which layers appear on each output. It describes uses such as stage displays, lobbies, overflow rooms, and online-event feeds. Eight outputs is a vendor capability claim, not a guarantee that any computer can drive them; graphics hardware, adapters, resolution, and signal path matter.
ProPresenter documents SDI with Blackmagic DeckLink or UltraStudio hardware, along with NDI, Syphon, and alpha key/key-fill output. EasyWorship also advertises NDI in/out, including NDI HX3, and lists streaming workflows involving vMix, OBS, and Wirecast, as well as ATEM key/fill and Magewell and AJA capture hardware. NDI is therefore not a differentiator by itself. Compare the routing, output count, format, and hardware your production actually requires. ProPresenter’s multi-screen overview describes its screen and broadcast options.
Remote operation and automation
EasyWorship offers free iOS and Android remote apps for advancing slides, changing songs, and running a service around the room. It also documents Stream Deck and MIDI-related workflows. ProPresenter includes ProPresenter Remote with an active subscription and documents Stream Deck, macros, MIDI, API control, TCP/IP communication, and other automation paths. Both can support remote slide control; ProPresenter has the more extensive documented control layer for teams connecting presentation cues to a wider production system. Neither product’s remote-control features should be assumed to provide equivalent remote content preparation or collaboration.
Planning Center Services
ProPresenter documents a Planning Center Services integration that can synchronize playlists with an order of service, link presentations or content to cues, and put Services LIVE information on stage displays. The reviewed EasyWorship pages describe schedules and other integrations but do not establish an equivalent Planning Center Services workflow. If Planning Center is central to your service preparation, test the specific cue and playlist handoffs you need in ProPresenter; do not infer that undocumented functionality is absent from EasyWorship.

Operating systems and hardware
The old shorthand that EasyWorship is for Windows and ProPresenter is for Mac is outdated. EasyWorship 8 lists Windows 10/11 and macOS 14 or later. ProPresenter’s current download page lists macOS and Windows builds; its listed version there is 21.4/21.4.2, with a July 1, 2026 release date. Because versions and requirements can change, check the current download notes before installing.
EasyWorship’s published minimums include a Windows 10 computer with Intel i3 or AMD Ryzen 3, 4 GB RAM, NVIDIA GTX 1050–1650 graphics, and a 7200 RPM hard drive; its recommended Windows specification lists Windows 11 64-bit, an Intel i5/i7/i9 or AMD Ryzen 5/7/9, 8 GB RAM, supported NVIDIA RTX graphics, and SSD/NVMe storage. For Mac, it lists a minimum Intel Core processor and 8 GB RAM, and recommends Apple Silicon M1 or later and 16 GB RAM. The vendor also specifies supported model generations on its requirements page. Extended desktop requires two outputs, with the laptop display counting as one. EasyWorship says presentation can run offline, but SongSelect, streaming features, and updates require internet access.
The cited ProPresenter download material does not provide a complete current minimum/recommended hardware table. Check its current requirements for the specific version, output count and resolution, GPU, capture hardware, and SDI/NDI workflow rather than assuming a computer that runs the application will handle a full production. Neither product should be labeled categorically lighter or more demanding without a test on the church’s actual system.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Which product fits your church?
Small church or volunteer-led service
Start with EasyWorship if the regular service is songs, Scripture, sermon slides, announcements, and media, and you value a focused worship schedule and included campus licensing. ProPresenter is worth the additional seat cost and setup only if its production tools solve a real need.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Church with a livestream
If the stream simply needs worship slides alongside camera video in OBS, vMix, or Wirecast, compare both against the actual feed path and test them. If the presentation system must act as a broadcast graphics engine with SDI, key/fill, or several independent screen layouts, give ProPresenter priority and include output hardware and operator training in the budget.
Multi-campus or multi-ministry organization
Compare EasyWorship’s attendance-based campus plan with ProPresenter’s 20-seat Worship Campus plan. Confirm whether the license covers every location, ministry, and computer in your organization; a campus license should not be assumed to cover additional campuses.
Church using Planning Center Services
ProPresenter has the clearly documented Services integration. Validate playlist sync, cue links, and stage-display information with your actual order of service before committing.
Church with an existing Mac or Windows computer
Either product may fit the operating system, but check the supported OS version and hardware requirements. Then test the number of displays, media formats, and any capture devices on that particular computer.

ProPresenter deserves priority when you need multiple independent layouts, layered screen content, timecode, or production automation. Confirm the system can drive the intended canvas and signal chain; software output claims do not remove the need for suitable GPU, adapters, processors, and trained operators.
Test before buying or switching
Use both trial periods to reproduce a real service, including the awkward parts of your current workflow. A product that handles an ordinary lyric slide may still fail on the translation, video, display adapter, or cue sequence your church depends on.
- Build or import a representative service with songs, Scripture, sermon slides, announcements, and video.
- Connect your SongSelect account and verify lyric formatting, copyright reporting, custom arrangements, and any MIDI or chord-chart cues you use.
- Display the church’s preferred Bible translation and test its search and formatting.
- Run every intended display separately: main screen, confidence monitor, stage display, lobby or overflow screen, and stream feed.
- Test the actual resolution and refresh rate, adapters, capture cards, and any HDMI, DisplayPort, USB-C, or SDI connections in the chain.
- Play the church’s 4K video or motion backgrounds and check NDI latency and network reliability if those are part of the setup.
- Try the remote, Stream Deck, MIDI, Planning Center, or other integration your team will rely on.
- Disconnect and reconnect a display, restart the computer, and rehearse recovery from a device or signal failure.
- Check license activation on every intended computer and clarify offline operation, renewal, and expiration behavior with the vendor.
- Run a full rehearsal with the operators who will use the system, then keep the old computer and presentation files available as a fallback during a switch.
Plan a migration, not just an installation
There is no established universal one-click conversion between the two products. Before switching, preserve the old library and inventory songs, Scripture, media, themes, fonts, presentations, stage layouts, and output settings. Keep original media files and verify their paths after import; expect some manual cleanup when moving between proprietary libraries. Both products advertise PowerPoint support, but import behavior can vary by file, so test the church’s actual presentations rather than assuming every animation or layout will transfer intact.
Evaluate the whole production system alongside the subscription: presentation computer and GPU, displays and projectors, LED processor, capture or output hardware, SDI/NDI network, streaming computer, control devices, media services, and operator training. An advanced workflow can cost more to implement than its software plan alone suggests.

Other options to compare
If neither platform fits, consider a fresh comparison with Planning Center Presenter for a planning-centered workflow, Proclaim for a church already invested in Faithlife, MediaShout as another worship-focused system, or OpenLP and FreeShow for lower-cost or open-source-oriented approaches. WorshipTools Presenter is another option where service planning and presentation are intended to work together. Their current features, licensing, operating-system support, and output capabilities are not established here, so verify those details directly before treating any as a substitute.
