How to use a healing item in Ultimate Team

Open Ultimate Team and go to your squad.

Find the injured player’s card. Current guides identify the injury marker as a flashing bandage near the top of the card.

Highlight the card and open its Actions menu. One guide gives Square on PlayStation and X on Xbox as examples; follow the control prompts displayed by your game and platform.

Select Apply Recommended Consumable, then apply a Player Healing item. A guide’s example shows “+5 All Injuries,” but that label may vary and is not confirmed by EA.

Check the squad card again. The guide says the injury marker should disappear once the injury is cleared.
The healing item is an in-game consumable; you do not need a physical product.

What the injury icon means
The flashing bandage is the injury marker described by current third-party Ultimate Team guides. If it remains on the card after using an item, check that the consumable was applied to the intended player and follow any prompts or status information shown in your game.

Can an injured player recover without an item?
A current third-party consumables reference says a player can recover naturally after spending the full recovery period in reserves, while a healing item can reduce downtime. EA’s available materials do not confirm this Ultimate Team recovery detail, so treat it as third-party guidance rather than an official rule.

Career Mode injuries work differently
Do not apply the Ultimate Team consumable instructions to Career Mode. EA’s FC 27 Career Mode Deep Dive describes injuries alongside Match Fitness: a manager may play a player with a light injury, but risks aggravating it. Medium and severe injuries have recovery periods, and returning before all risk has passed is possible.
