Before trying to join a friend in EA SPORTS FC 27, check their platform generation. PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC share one cross-play group; PS4 and Xbox One share another. Those groups cannot cross-play with each other, and EA says neither Nintendo Switch nor Nintendo Switch 2 supports FC cross-play. You can check or change the cross-play setting in the game’s menus, but EA’s published guidance does not document a complete friend-search and invitation sequence.
Which platforms can play FC 27 together?
EA groups supported cross-play by console generation, not simply by whether a system is a PlayStation, Xbox, or PC. The official EA cross-play guide identifies these platform groups:

Yes. PS5 and Xbox Series X|S are in the same current-generation group, so they can cross-play with each other. PC is in that group as well.

Can PS4 play with PS5 on FC 27?
No. PS4 belongs to the previous-generation group, while PS5 belongs to the current-generation group. EA’s cross-play grouping does not allow players to cross-play between those generations. The same division applies between Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
Can PC play with PS5 on FC 27?
Yes. EA places PC and PS5 in the current-generation group. A PC player can cross-play with a PS5 player, subject to the game mode supporting cross-play.

Can Switch play cross-platform on FC 27?
No. EA says Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 do not support FC cross-play. EA points Switch owners to separate guidance for playing with other Nintendo Switch players; the cross-play guidance does not establish the details of that same-platform process.

FC 27’s mode availability does not change this rule. EA’s launch information says The Grounds, including Clubs, is available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Switch 2, but EA separately excludes both Switch systems from FC cross-play. Mode availability on Switch 2 is not evidence of cross-platform compatibility.

How do you turn cross-play on or off in FC 27?
EA says cross-play is enabled by default the first time you play and cannot be changed during a match. Use one of these documented menu paths:
- EA Connect: Main Menu > EA Connect > Social settings > Cross-play > Cross-play settings.
- General matchmaking: Main Menu > Customise > Online Settings > Matchmaking Options.
- Ultimate Team: Main Menu > Ultimate Team > Settings > Matchmaking Settings.
Under Cross-play Enabled, choose Yes to enable cross-play or No to disable it. If you are already in a match, finish or leave it before changing the setting.

How do you add or invite a friend?
EA identifies EA Connect as the social-settings area for cross-play, but its published cross-play guidance does not spell out the full FC 27 process for searching for a friend, adding them, sending an invitation, or choosing a lobby. Menu names and available options may vary by game mode, so avoid relying on an unverified step sequence.

Does FC 27 Lite include online play with friends?
EA’s September 25, 2026 launch announcement lists Kick-Off, Learn to Play, Online Friendlies, and Online Seasons as FC 27 Lite’s launch modes. That list confirms those modes are part of Lite’s launch selection; it does not establish which modes support cross-play. EA also says Lite requires a persistent internet connection and an EA Account, and that modes, features, and content may not be available at all times or in all territories and may change.
EA announced FC 27 for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2. Platform availability alone does not mean every platform can cross-play with every other one.
